Finally delivered. Actually came just under an hour ago, got too excited to open it up and play with it that I'm only now getting around to posting here. But its finally here. After 9 days since the order! Hope my fellow Canadians have received theirs as well!

Okay, so I guess now my MBA is on FDX 28 on it's way to Alaska now. Looking at flight aware, nothing seems to be scheduled in terms of moving it from PANC to memphis. But do you think it may still go out towards memphis tonight?

Not a small reseller. But they told me it takes about two weeks till Apple ships a BTO MacBook Air. I did tell them that something was wrong about it not shipping so they are going to look in to it today and get back to me.

Steve31 unless they have a special or are your friends, i'd cancel with them if you didn't already pay. Looks like SteadyAt and Cc2k4 all just got ours and Mississauga is not that far! I'm worried that they didn't put in the order

That isn't fare and I wouldn't trust them. My reseller is a small 8 person company and I was worried that they would wait for more bookings to save on any shipping cost. Looks like they pulled through but it was really touch and go...especially since fairview mall and Yorkdale had the ultimate condors since Wednesday.

My MBA is definitely on FDX28 as the flights take off time matches the 2nd "in transit" entry on FedEX. This flight has 8 more minutes until landing (7 now) and hopefully, clears customs and makes a flight to the Lower 48 today! I did pay expedited shipping but I doubt that FedEx will deliver on Saturday even if all the stars are aligned but maybe there is still hope for Monday!

Yeah, fed ex doesn't usually deliver on the weekends unless the choice is checked. I don't know if that cost more. I just know that in this case, it wasn't an option.

Order finally is prepared for shipment. Not sure why it took so long. So hopefully it will be here by the end of the week. What a bummer!!!! I was looking forward to getting this but it will be another week for me.
Does anyone know the FedEx flights from Anchorage to the Lower 48? I'm hoping my computer that has now officially arrived in Anchorage, can catch a plane out of there today!

Think mine is getting delayed in COLOGNE due to the INCONSIDERATE bomb threat terrorists. If my MacBook Air is in any way damaged.... beware!
Based on an earlier post, I think the plane will leave shortly for Memphis, I am not sure if they run planes on Saturday though, but if they do, it should make most of its progress to us on Saturday
Just to add my 2 cents. I have finally received my 13" and... I am not really impressed . I have been with Apple many years and always bought anything first before having good look. I think that will change from today. I think I wouldn't buy it if I had a chance to see it first.
Nice things about it are:
- size combine with weight,
- battery life
- speed ok..ish,
- very quiet,
- trackpad touch gestures
Negative things are:
- no backlit keyboard,
- lack of memory but that was expected
- it not as cool looking as advertised,
- not big deal with screen resolution (maybe because I got 27" iMac),
- cheap looking keyboard/keys with this lack of softness when pressed,
- price after overall
Anyway I have bought it for my miss for light usage so it will do the job. However if iPad would have more functionality implemented such flash plugin (yea..i know), camera, proper Microsoft Office package, and few more extras not available there yet, then most likely I would go for 2 x iPad.
Bottom line is that it is my personal opinion. I am sure many will disagree with me but thats the way I see new MBA

ordered on sat the 23rd, 530ish PM. expedited shipping. scheduled to arrive nov 2nd. 10 days is a bit much for expedited shipping? especially when macmall offers free parallels 6.0, free printer, free overnight shipping, standard price already cheaper than apple's education discount.

Hopefully they'll get out of Anchorage today so we'll know they have cleared customs.
Fedex do run planes all weekend but they have already worked out the routing for our babies. I'd expect them to get to the next major hub today but they may sit there for the weekend.
My estimated delivery is tuesday so it wouldn't upset me to see it not move until Monday, they can get it pretty much anywhere in the US in a day.
I'm pretty much praying for a Monday delivery as I'll actually be home then! (It is scheduled for Tuesday though). I'm just happy it's out of China!!
BTW, what does int'l shipment release mean?

Mom ordered hers night of launch (20th). Got shipping notice 22nd, in her hands 28th. LOVES it! I made her wait since May for upgrade, she understands the importance of waiting now. Fully loaded 13" for mid duty work. I told her get the most upgrades because it will probably be expensive to upgrade after the fact and I know she will have this machine for years. I'm already wanting an upgraded iPad, couldn't wait and I bet the next version will be killer.

Looks like the flight from Anchorage to Memphis has taken off and my computer is still in Anchorage. :-( I REALLY needed this to be here no later than the original date of 11/01. I'm going to check the local stores in case they got that model in this week.
