I live in the UK.
Waiting for my macbook air anxiously...
i ordered on the 25...
Hi,
Not a noob question at all if you've never ordered from Apple before. I suspect you're in the same position as me. I ordered on 28th (been playing with a base-spec 13.3 that will be returned to Apple, Cambridge UK), and the max MBA was shipped yesterday, 1 November.
If I follow the 'track order' button through it mentions Kuhne & Nagel and says carrier and tracking number to be updated 'shortly'! 'Shortly' is an Apple misnomer or euphemism 'cos my word would be 'ages'-it feels like ages when you're dying to play with your new Apple!
I ordered Applecare with the student discount & in UK we usually get a 'merge in transit' & this also means we can't track from China. The next info for us will be carrier info & tracking number after 'ages', but the good news is that then within a day or so we'll have it.
When I phoned Apple Cambridge last weekend they told me they had all the models so it was really frustrating to learn they only had the base models-I talked myself into buying the 13.3. It is great & I have more Mac computing power in the house, but the maxed out MBA will also provide that when I'm abroad. (I run Windows through VM or Parallels in order to use voice-recognition software-hence the need for computing power). It seems in the US maxed out MBA's are available in some Apple stores & I would have thought it would have been good business for Apple to do that here also.
Hope this is useful.
