I picked up an open box 11.6" macbook air at best buy yesterday.

It is the 128GB model.. and they had it marked for $1019..

Machine looked absolutely fine.. no scratches or anything..

They found the box, but it was missing the restore usb stick.. so they knocked off another $25. I'll contact apple about a replacement next week..

Got my mba for $1069 after tax.. and no interest for 2 years.

Pretty happy with it so far.

I've installed Starcraft II via remote disc from my windows machine, loaded up torchlight and Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale (via crossover games) and it's running great.

For my intended uses of this machine, I don't get the impression that the 2GB of ram or the 1.4Ghz core 2 will be holding me back much, if at all.

Hi all, this is my first post.

Yesterday, I took advantage of the Black Friday deals and ordered a 1.86GHz 4GB 128GB MBA.

It will be my first Mac and I am quite excited.

Wish me luck. I guess I have a few threads to read while I wait for it to arrive in the mail...

Welcome! You will love it. I am writing from it right now. I don't have any interest in my other laptops at the moment.

I use Macs a lot at work, and I even have a MacBook they gave me when I have to work from home. I have also had an original iPhone, a 3GS, and now a 4. I have a 64GB wifi iPad, too. BUT! I got my first very own Mac on Black Friday for Christmas, thanks to my Mom. It is AMAZING! I'm far too old to be such a brat, but who cares? Not me, thanks.

My MBA arrived few hours ago. So far I'm loving it. When I unplugged the power cord, it showed 8.30 of battery life. VERY nice! Now 72% left and still over 7 hours. I need to calibrate it though but so far the battery life has been very, very nice.

so i was meant to be working in New York this week (i'm from the UK) and was planning on buying a pimped 13" while I was there.

But my work trip was cancelled

and I spent about an hour in the macstore in London playing with them to see if they could cope with the kind of docs I normally have to work with.

and I bought a maxed 11". Love it, with MS office 2011 and lightroom installed, all seems good so far!! Will experiment with CS5 tonight and see if it copes!

Well according to UPS mine was signed for this morning at home, only took 2 very painful weeks from order to delivery.

But I'm stuck in the office until at least 6.30pm today :(

At least it gives me time to explain the purchase to the wife, but as she signed for it I guess it gives her time to calm down ;-)

Or maybe she opened it up to see what was in the box and played with it for a while:p. Should have had it delivered to your office:D

I ordered the 11" with 128/4 but regular speed processor on "black friday." Got notice a few days later that it was shipping and would be delivered Dec 3.

IT JUST ARRIVED A DAY EARLY!

Okay, I would have known this if I'd been tracking it but I hadn't.

It's now sitting on my desk absorbing all the brilliance of my last Time Machine backup!

Must be a different routine in the UK.

Ordered my 11" by phone through Apple and it arrived two days later, £130 less than list as my 2nd cousin twice removed is a student, and they do not even bother with proof.

Just got off the phone with Fed Ex. Was to receive Air today the 2nd but is still sitting in Indianapolis. Got there early this morning. I had hoped it would go out this AM to Phoenix, but not going to happen. Fed Ex tells be shipment was delayed in Anchorage...Will not be recieved until tomorrow. Oh rats!!

Over the hills and far away...
Congratulations! Did you get the ultimate?

Nope, I got the 64 GB with 4GB of RAM, I have MobileMe so I can use Back to my Mac for getting my files on the go.

The hardest thing to get used to is the keyboard (I am coming from 6 years of using the PowerBook G4/Early MBP keyboard, which is the only thing I miss really) but I am coming along.

The screen is great, and looking at my MBP screen now, this little guy is much sharper (and seems to be easier on my eyes, despite the small size).

ordered my maxed out 13.3 Air on Black Friday and it arrived ahead of schedule (2nd December) on the 1st December. Thought the snow would have an impact but not at all. It did sit in Cologne for about 36 hours during the import/export brokerage clearance. Love it!!!!!

Got Mine and Love it!!!

I ordered MBA-Ultimate 11.6" on Cyber Monday Nov 26th at onsale.com.

Mine shipped out from MEMPHIS, TN, US 11/29/2010 6:39 P.M.

I got it 2 days later MESQUITE, TX, US 12/01/2010 6:27 P.M. DELIVERY.

Super fast even though I chose the cheap shipping was UPS for $7.49.

So if anyone needs the MBA Ultimate 11.6" (11.6" MacBook Air 1.6GHz, 4GB RAM, 128GB Flash Storage, NVIDIA GeForce 320M) onsale.com has them prebuilt on the shelf ready to go :D

Just ordered my 13" MBA "ultimate" in anticipation of my final MBA result in 10 days time. (I'm going to be sick if I get the computer but don't pass! )

Surprised to see the ultimate is shipping in 24hours now and not the 3 days usually reserved for BTO.

All I need to do now is sell my 13" MBP
