Ordered BTO 11 and 13 Ultimate.

Delivered at 4:52 PM ET to Michigan - WOOOOOOHOOOOO

Shipped Monday 12/13 delivered 12/15. WOW!

Mine would have been delivered at 1:19 PM ET to Michigan as well but I was at work...grr! Hopefully I'll be home tomorrow. Otherwise, very impressed. My CTO MBP took ~8 days to arrive previously.

I bit the bullet on the 11.6 inch Air after my MacBook kicked the bucket a few weeks ago (during finals week, no less). I went with the basic $1000 Air, due to me not using too many programs, and not wanting to shell out more money for the 2GB extra RAM, although it remains to be seen if I will be missing it or not. It finally arrived today, and here's some first impressions:

The Good:
* A lovable tiny. Small enough to carry around from class to class without a hitch, and large enough to be able to have an internet window and a text document up at the same time.
* Build quality. People say Apple computers are expensive. They fail to realize that what you're making up for in specs, you're making up with a wonderfully designed product. I'll take all metal over plastics any day.
* Snappy app opening. Several times have I blankly opened a program and zoned off waiting for it to open, only to realize it was already opened. Awesome.
* Video. Runs without a hitch from Netflix and Hulu, something I was really worried about.
* Battery. I've seen a lot of people complaining about the battery, but I don't understand it. I'm at 90% right now, and the computer is estimating another 6 hours.
* Noise. I bought a $600 Gateway computer during finals week, that I absolutely LOVED. Big screen, 4GBs of RAM, 2.4 GHz i3 processor and a Blu Ray player. However, it made an extremely loud high pitched noise. I could not live with it. The Air is completely silent, except if you put your ear right up to it.

The Bad:
* For me, web browsing. I'm not sure yet if it's just my internet connection at my folks' house which has previously been a little slow in the past, but loading up pages is kind of a pain sometimes. Scrolling becomes jittery, and it takes a while for things to load up. Again, the most logical problems is our WiFi, but it's a little worrisome at this point.

Overall: 8/10 for me. It is a little expensive, and if the browser abilities remain the way they are, I will not be happy, but otherwise a fantastic product. I love the SSD, the lack of noise, and the overall feel of the machine.

Is your coming by UPS? My UPS tracking is a bit confusing - no delivery date is given, yet Apple claim delivery tomorrow (to Cheshire). My tracking was updated this morning to show a departure scan from Incheon, Kr.

...and just arrived in Almaty, Kazahkstan. Getting closer, I think! Delivery tomorrow? UPS is still showing as delivery date unknown while Apple haven't changed from Friday.

Why do you think it should have left three hours ago?

I bet it is the snow storm 'Petra" delaying things in Europe...
Even the amazon.de website is stating that delays of 1 to 2 days are normal due to the great weather conditions (hey it is winter...didn't you know) :D

Oh great!

My Air is now in Cologne and UPS have updated their shipping time to Monday (which is on schedule). Apple's tracker still says today, which is a bit weird. If I wasn't so experienced with couriers and was just tracking it via the Apple store as opposed to UPS themselves, I'd be expecting it to arrive today and would be pretty disappointed when it doesn't show up.

Mine has sat in Cologne all day - no updates at all, with a delivery time still listed as Monday. Snow is apparently causing trouble in Europe now (including Germany), so we'll wait and see I guess.

Place my 11-inch with popular configurations this morning along with a HP Envy 100 printer and AppleCare, it's under prepared for shipment as of typing.

I guess they pre-built a lot of them.

Either that or Foxconn hired extra staff over the holiday season :D

I bet. Interesting enough that the popular config includes a faster processor and more RAM.

Left FedEx origin facility: Shanghai, China
Delivered by 12/22

As a 32 GB iPad wifi user since April, I am excited.

I placed an order for a MBA 11 on the Apple Store on 12th December and it was dispatched to the UK on the 13th.

It still doesn't show any tracking reference number or details on the shipment status page. Is this normal? Is there any way to find out what part of the world it's currently in?

You can't trace it at apple.com?

I even did a live chat while placing the order and the Apple rep told me I will receive my MBA before Christmas. It's strange that the online store didn't provide any shipping option other than the 2-3 days free shipping.

The Apple sales rep even asked for my web order # and checked it. :)
