Congratulations motegi.

My Aussie CTO order 6/32/1TB/D700 was lodged 15 minutes after yours. Hopefully, it might ship soon.

I wonder if the Austin skeleton crew is working Sunday and the USA public holiday on Monday?

Nugget, your 8 core and mine are the only two of that spec among January orders.

You have excellent taste in configurations! Mine just switched to "Shipped" with UPS tracking number, but UPS hasn't heard about it yet. I presume it will actually go out the door on Monday.

Mine finally shipped today (around 5pm PT). I got a notice saying they had trouble with my debit card. I thought the increased limit needed to be refreshed tomorrow, but it was a midnight yesterday. Oh well, at least Apple didn't skip my place in line because of it.

After I called my bank, submitted the try again, it charged me within a few minutes and then went to preparing. Within an hour or two I got an email with the tracking number.

Apple originally said Tuesday for delivery, but the FedEx tracking number says Monday. When I called them last week they changed my ship time to over night. It really took some convincing to get them to do it. They put me on hold for like 10 minutes before. I guess it was to get approval or whatever. At first it really sounded like they weren't going to do it.

Tomorrow I have the fun task of cleaning my entire desk and re-cabling everything. :D

yes, we all would have our computers already...
Should have had them start elsewhere then gradually move to the US

It's all or nothing. The Mac Pro requires a lot of custom equipment and a special factor. It would be far too expensive to do something like that just to speed up initial shipments.

Honestly, I am glad they are assembling them in the US. This country needs to bring some work back.

Sadness...

What hurts more was tat I saw a stock configuration at a retailer but couldn't change the configurations on the spot thus I'll just continue waiting for my BTO unit.

This is really reassuring. I've been concerned my credit card company would decline the payment and I'd lose my order! Great to know that won't happen.

On the shipping upgrade, it looks like I got my thinking wrong. I'd always thought Apple deliveries arrive a little earlier than anticipated because Apple always use a faster method than they tell you. If you phone up, you get the "feel good" about the "free upgrade". If you don't, you get the "feel good" when it unexpectedly arrives early. Anyway, sounds like the free upgrade might make a real difference after all.

I'm getting "We're Sorry. We're sorry, but our Order Status services are extremely busy right now. Please try again later."

So maybe huge update?

I had felt the same way and didn't want anything possibly messing up the order after having waited so long. I called my credit card company and asked them to pre-authorize a large charge from Apple. The guy asked for an approximate date and laughed when I said "January". He was able to put a 48 hour pre-authorization on the card for a large charge from Apple and left a note that it could be any time in January. He said I could simply call back in 2 days if it hadn't go through yet.

It definitely makes a difference. I see orders that shipped before or the same day as mine yet are scheduled to arrive later (sorry guys!). It just sucks when they wind up shipping it on a Friday. I already told my manager that I'm feeling a bit ill tomorrow ;)

as kooked out as i am over the anticipation for my order... as an American, i'm also pretty happy that these are being built here, and i guess i'm willing to wait a bit for that.

at the end of the day, i have many computers to work on right now and i'm not missing out in that regard... but, oh the anticipation!!

Probably not. They seem to do system maintenance about once a week in the early hours of Sunday. I think the message you got was because there is pent-up demand from the downtime....

I had exactly the same conversation! I still don't trust them to read the note about the payment being made sometime in January though.

Preparing for shipping

6/32/1TB/D700 had been ordered 3:47 (EST) on 12/19/13

As of 10:30 Saturday night it was still processing; This morning it was changed to preparing for shipping and my Card was changed to show Apple charge pending. No Shipping notice yet.

I ordered the same config as you, about 2 hours after yours. I called again yesterday to try and get the shipping upgrade. Didn't happen. It should ship within the next two weeks and I'll have it by the beginning of February she said. I guess that means mine will ship January 30 or 31. They still met their promise of shipping in January.

I'm thinking mine may ship on Tuesday. I'll post when I hear. I do need another day or two to get things in order. I'm going to use a Cin 30" from one of my Old Macs for now; and keep another MacPro with a 2nd 30 along side for now. I've got to set up my Drobo5D for the nMPro. I do mostly photography with CS and LR etc. I'm really looking forward to the new systems. My old systems were late 2007 and a 2008.

It's starting to get lonely at the top of the spreadsheet as one of the few really early orderers whose order still hasn't shipped. Maybe this coming week...

I think we should look at this way. We're pretty much guaranteed to get a notice in the next 12 days. Plus our nMPs are still smudge free.

I'm right there with you brother. Extremely frustrated.

Even though my card was successfully charged on the 15th, My order status still remains at 'processing items'.

I'm guessing it needs a full 3 business days to clear properly.

I did see a change in the shipping. And got a notification a few hours later saying the order was updated. I can also tell they did do something because everyone else seems to be shipped via UPS. Mine is via FedEx.

I am currently concerned that the tracking just says "initiated". With the shipping date estimate of Saturday and delivery estimate of Monday. If it didn't actually get shipped on Saturday, it might not make it. Maybe this is why Apple gave a later estimate of Tuesday ?

I really hope it is Monday because I have the day off from the holiday. I have to go into the office on Tuesday because of some meetings. So, at that point I might have to get them to hold it at FedEx. Sadly, my wife is very unreliable at hearing the door or even phone. If I left it up to her, I wouldn't get it lol.

That's the way I'm looking at it: with each passing day in January, my estimate gets more specific.

Received a call at 10:40 am PST Sunday from my credit card company asking about a charge from Apple. They declined it as they suspected fraud. I told them that it was a valid charge and asked them to pay it when resubmitted. They said they would do so through Tuesday.

Called Apple Store and had them run the charge and it went through. They changed shipping to expedited gratis, 2-3 day (I'm in California). I see now that at 6 am Sunday Apple sent me an email notifying me that there was a problem with my payment.

Just received an email stating that my order has been changed - it now says "by Next Day Shipping". No change in on-line status as of yet.

At 11:33 received an automated call from my credit card company asking if this was an authorized transaction. I selected the "this is authorized" option. Checked my credit card on-line. The charge is now in the "temporary authorizations" section.
