For the nervous of disposition: in a month, the delivery time went back over a month…

:) Fair point! But another way to look at it is that it took Apple 30 days to receive orders for the same number of nMPs as they received within the first six hours after launch (that's making quite a few assumptions, I know!) and also that the waiting time for new orders might not be getting any shorter.

Really interesting stuff. I'm curious to know what you said to draw their attention. Or maybe the NSA (or our imitation UK equivalent) already have you in their radar... ;)

Did you pick up on anything which might help us understand the shipping order?!

Yes, I'm suffering from refreshing addiction too. The iOS Deliveries app checks automatically every hour, but sometimes an hour seems a long time to wait!

I didn't mention the rather random state of the order processing that's been very well picked up by your spreadsheet. They rather caught me on the hop phoning me out of the blue like that. It was 8.30pm too on a Friday evening so they were lucky to catch me (staying in is the new going out, after all, so I was half way down my first pint of Ringwood Best at the time).

I missed an opportunity there, and I can only apologise to everyone about that. The lady gave me her contact details at Apple and promised to keep an eye on my order (I bet they all say that) so if we approach the end of the month with no movement on our orders I'll be sure to phone her and ask what's occurring.

Having said that, I was quite pleased with myself that I managed to get my brain into gear quick enough to ask about the delivery estimates. I've been thinking more about that over the weekend (while repeatedly hitting the refresh key of course). She was adamant that the January orders will all ship on time. If you ordered until very recently you'd still have seen a February delivery estimate. It simply must be that whatever slowed production down to a crawl during the first 4 weeks won't be a factor sometime between now and the end of this month otherwise how could she be sure that they'd fulfil all their orders and how come every order placed for the last month has got a "February" date written all over it?

It fills me with some kind of hope. Even if this wait feels unbelievably long.

Still, on the positive side, the years all seem to flash by so damn quickly these days that having to wait so long is actually quite a novelty. The last time I can remember something taking this long was when it was November and Christmas was around the corner and I was about 6. It seemed to be FOREVER before Santa finally turned up (and even then he only brought me a Hornby train set just that one time, tight sod).

It has arrived! (12c/64gb/1tb/D700)

Now to work setting it up while still appearing to be working ;). Once transitioned to it I'll run some benchmarks against my current machine (Mid 2010 2x6core*2.93ghz, 32gb ram, GTX 570).

*Just kidding on that "appearing to be working" part, if my manager is reading this :D

I have ordered a lot of stuff from Apple and this is the first time they have lost my order. Some how, my Mac Pro never made it to FedEx. Apple said they can see the order leaving the warehouse / factory or whatever and thats it, nothing more. The rep was kind of baffled at this, he had never seen this before.

He contacted the team that orders the logistics of these orders and they are going to research it. They have a turn around time of 24 hours, so he has no idea when it will actually ship. If they find the order, it will be pushed out today. He did make sure that it was sent overnight (again).

I have today off and it would have been perfect to get it today. Now, I have to move around my entire schedule this week to work from home either tomorrow or Wednesday. I don't know which day yet because they can't find my order lol.

Needless to say, I am very aggravated right now.

It seems the majority of people got the D700's. With shipping immanent, I'm starting to wonder if I should have too? What were peoples reasonings?

My current machine is a 2007 iMac so only has 256mb of video ram. I mostly do HD motion graphics in After Effects and some 3D animation, so figured a 24x increase in VRAM with D500's would be plenty.

Apple warehouse or Fedex lost my Mac Pro

Hole E $#i+! Just got off the phone with apple and they lost my Mac Pro! Fedex says it never made it to them and they are starting an investigation? So now I'm supposed to sit with my thumb up my arse while they try and find it.

In the mean time their putting me back in line for another one to be built and I'll get it when they find it or the new 1 is built?

The lady on the phone was super nice and was able to keep me somewhat calm and gave me a $150 credit which is a joke btw lol I just want my nMP yesterday now I fear I'm looking at late February early march.

I was so F N close! I could touch the finish line and it just vanished now I'm scratching my head wondering WTF just happened?

Wow. Two "lost" the same day? This is not going well for the vaunted Apple!

WTF, they didn't give me a credit :( But ya, they told me the same thing about bumping my spot in line to get it to me faster. However, they said the investigation could take a few days. They won't even get back to me for at least 24 hours.

I wonder if the truck got into an accident or something.

Really terrible news. :(

Don't want to build up you guys hopes too much by this, but as your parcels will have your name and address on them, there's still a possibility they will arrive today/tomorrow. I've had a non-tracking parcel turn up in the past.

I talked to FedEx and they said there is zero chance it will show up today. It was never received by them. Unless they get it by early this afternoon tomorrow will be out as well.

I once had a package show up that FedEx claimed was cancelled by the sender before they received it.

Not saying that thats going to happen in this case, but stranger things have.

I think mine may be in the same state. I "shipped" Saturday (1/18) same as yours but with assigned UPS tracking number, but UPS has not seen the package. I just assumed that they didn't actually have a shipper pickup over the weekend and it'll hit the system tonight.

Might be worth you and /dev/toaster each giving a quick call to Apple now to try to claim $150 credit like cswamp1... just in case the tracking comes alive tonight.... if you're that way inclined.

Seems I am one of the 13 or 14 so remaining U.S. orders (shipping in January) on the sheet not to be moved to preparing for shipping yet. On my way to manufacturing plant to stand and wait.
