Seems as though these latests configs shipped are all D700's? Is that correct? Maybe that was the hold-up this whole time?

I didn't see any entry for you on the spreadsheet, so I don't know the details; but hopefully things have picked up a bit, and you'll hear soon.

Just added it. Unfortunately because I wanted to change my order, they had to cancel the original (and lose my place in line), then create a new order on Jan 2.

Thanks guys; mine went live in FedEx's system at 10:12 EST. It's still supposed to be delivered tomorrow, but they're predicting 2-4" of snow here, and we know how fidgety FedEx gets when it snows. I'm supposed to take tomorrow off, but if my nMP gets delayed until Wednesday, I'll grudgingly go to work tomorrow and take Wednesday off.

I can almost guarantee that FedEx and UPS simply didn't pick up over the weekend and your orders will all show up later this evening when the carriers do their daily pickups.

Yep, exactly as expected my UPS tracking number works now. Picked up from Austin tonight at 8:08PM CST, will be delivered tomorrow. Of course, I'll be out of town until the end of the week so I won't get my hands on it until Saturday. No movement on my other two machines, still "Processing."

That's what I think.

I'm in the same boat, charged card and had stuff all progress, southern hemisphere really isn't a priority!

Who knows what the hold up is... I hope they aren't waiting to ship all the 'Aus/NZ' MacPro orders en-masse together to a local distribution centre or something silly like that.

My FedEx tracking is finally showing some movement again. It shows estimated delivery of tomorrow.

This whole thing was so strange, I never had an experience like this with Apple.

I want to thank Scissors again for setting up the spreadsheet. This has been a great tool for discussion, aggravation and (ultimately) joy.

Thanks Jasper! But I really can't take any credit for it... it's thanks to everyone here for populating it.

Once we've reached the end of January, I'm thinking to send a copy of the spreadsheet to Apple on behalf of us all on here with a note to say that we're delighted with our new nMPs but that it does more harm than good for their customer services teams to be trained to say that orders are shipped in the order they are placed when it's painfully obvious (even factoring in a large amount of error in the spreadsheet) that this isn't the case. I'm also going to pick up on a few other recurring issues on here. I'm hoping that a constructively written email, expressed as being on behalf of 200+ people who ordered the nMP, will be better received than a negative one. I might ask a certain Mr AJClayton for the contact details of the lady who gave him a call... If I get a response I will post it here in full.

Well Scissors

I have had a long call this morning with a guy from the "Executive Relations Dept" with regards my ongoing complaint

And despite the fact he was happy to confirm that he had listened to my last call to customer services and the rep had made up the excusses for my order not shipping he WOULD NOT CONFIRM in fact he continued to deny that the orders were being shipped in anything but the order that orders were placed.

I spent a good 10mins trying to get an admission they were shipped out of order, but this was always denied, and when I brought up the following

1: Quantity of US Orders shipped compared to Europe. I was told the US Machines were being made in a different facility hence why they may have more stock.. (WHAT A PORKIE)

2: When I brought up details of machines on Spreadsheet getting shipping notices even though orders placed hours after opening he fell back on the old (I CANNOT COMMENT ON IDIVIDUAL ORDERS) Chestnut

So I have left it with them and have been promised a call back within 24 hours with an updated shipping date.

We will see...

...

You have real grounds for complaining after what happened to your order, so good luck getting somewhere with this. My order is still technically on target so I can't really say much.

It sounds to me like staff are trained to say that orders move in the order they are placed, so the real question for me is why they are trained that way when it can so easily be demonstrated to be wrong. Not very Apple like.

I'm like you, Scissors, I have no real grounds for complaint as it's still "January" although my Mac Pro 1,1 won't support Xcode 5 and so I can't compile against iOS 7. From 1 Feb Apple are making that a requirement so although iOS development isn't the primary part of my business it's still something that's pretty important to me and my customers so I do feel slightly peeved that I won't have my machine in time. Probably.

I've been in contact with my "Apple friend" again today. I followed up my conversation with her on Friday with an email explaining (again) about my iOS dev problems. I was expecting an email back, but she called (a cynical person may say that's because the contents of an email are difficult to deny whereas a conversation on the telephone is). She reassured me again that my order is on schedule, although her wording was slightly different in that she said "I see no reason why it shouldn't ship on time". Slightly less definite than 3 days ago, I thought.

Regarding the seemingly random nature of the order processing, she gave me the line about it being a "first come, first served" process so it's clearly what they've been told. To be fair to them, they're not in the factory and not in charge of logistics so perhaps they genuinely believe that and think we're just throwing our toys out of the pram when we say otherwise?

Your idea about sending a constructive email with the spreadsheet is a very good one. Once the dust settles with all of this I'll certainly be happy to let you have the contact details I've got although to be fair to the "Apple person" I'd run it past her first (not in any detail - just whether I can pass her info on to you). She seems decent enough so I can't believe she'd say no.

Let's speak about that again on Friday when we receive our machines. :p

Hahahahahaha. Brilliant!

Edit: In all seriousness, I've resigned myself to receiving mine in early February. Many are reporting a lead time of a few days between payment authori[z/s]ation and shipment, and then there's the time taken to reach the UK and through customs. Feels much better to be taking this view though.

just got off the phone with Apple Customer Service. I was very polite and let them know I just called to inform them of the current situation regarding orders not going out "in order", and just the general nature of the discussion on here in this thread.

The rep was extremely nice and helpful. She did try to give me a line about how there are different factories all over. I told her I was not interested in debating but merely that I was going to report what I was seeing and if she could pass that info along to higher ups that would be wonderful. It seems she was genuinely uninformed on the Mac Pro - having said that she just recently took her first order for one.

Anyways- when i mentioned the spreadsheet she was super interested. When I mentioned it was on Mac Rumors, she said that reps are not allowed to go on a lot of sites and they sort of look down on rumors but Mac Rumors is actually one they're allowed to look! I told her if she was able to, she should look at this thread, and specifically the spreadsheet itself - which she then did!

She was pretty floored at the amount of data we've compiled, one of her comments was to the effect of "Wow! Europe and Asia are on here too!". I asked her to pass the spreadsheet around, and just kind of reiterated that Apple has thus far not broken any promises exactly - but that there is a contingent of their customers who're spending quite a bit who are less than delighted at the lack of transparency. She said she'd pass the info along - but also recommended using apples Feedback form, as it "goes straight to corporate". She basically suggested with all the effort we've put into the spreadsheet, we should be able to barrage them with email.

Let 'er rip, gentleman!
