Couldn't agree more. Youd think theyd cater to their high end customers at least a little bit. Nope.

I see the KRCS online store has both stock mac pros on offer with 3-7 days delivery and at a discount on the standard Apple price. Very tempted to cancel my Apple order and go with them. The delivery estimate is almost certainly wrong but you never know!

Well I was in KRCS Derby on Sat and they had the stock configs in stock for sale., (Could have walked out with one there and then but I really want the D700s)

That is what peed me off that there is still no movement on the orders placed on the 19th online..

Got a "credit card declined" message in my inbox this morning, first thing I've received from Apple since I placed my order on the 19th Dec. Rang up and got it sorted, might still get it before February! Finally appears to be a bit of movement in the Asia/Pacific region.

KRCS seems to be the only reseller that has them in stock. Derby is my home town and I will be there in a week or so. Going to give them a call if no activity from Apple next week and see if they will hold one for me. I just want a stock quad core to replace my mini.

Been using my Mac Pro for a bit. Its crazy how many first world problems it has.

  • Boots so fast that Steam thinks your offline since the Wifi hasn't had time to establish a connection
  • Hard to profile performance issues when your Unity3D project runs 500-1000 FPS
  • You notice how loud an external HDD is because the Mac Pro is crazy silent
  • Can't find much to push it

There was one legit problem. The Mac Pro has NO audio input. It doesn't have a hybrid port like the MacBook line. I had to get an external solution.

I really hope it is Monday because I have the day off from the holiday. I have to go into the office on Tuesday because of some meetings. So, at that point I might have to get them to hold it at FedEx. Sadly, my wife is very unreliable at hearing the door or even phone. If I left it up to her, I wouldn't get it lol.

Let us know how you get on! Mrs Scissors is just as unreliable and I have all my orders delivered to work now, nMP included.

Will be interesting to see whether the nMP factory will close tomorrow for the public holiday there...

Mac Pro has a headset port which has microphone input, I think.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6024
Headphone port: The right audio port with a headset icon is a 1/8" stereo minijack for headphones. When you plug in headphones to this port, sound is redirected from the internal speakers to the headphones. Headphones will appear in System Preferences > Sound > Output.
If the headset contains a microphone, it will appear in System Preferences > Sound > Input. iPhone headsets including mic and inline controls are supported. Digital output devices are not supported on this port.

It could go either way. New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day usually get more participation than MLK's Birthday, Washington's Birthday, Columbus Day, and Veteran's Day...unless you work for a bank or the government.

Apple's website says delivery on the 21st FedEx says the 20th so I've left milk and cookies along with my pre-sign @ the front door for the FedEx guy just in case?

This isnt a major holiday, usually most private businesses don't even observe it. Even if factories do, they count it as overtime hours for anyone that has to work.

Mine has been paid for from the minute I ordered it. An immediate bank transfer made sure Apple had the money right away, or at least the day after. What's a month worth of interest over € 3700 ??

Anyway, by the time the nMP arrives for us Europeans, the 12-core A9 chip will be faster than the nMPs Xeon processor :D

Haha. Brilliant!!

Interesting that the U.S. store is still showing new nMP orders as shipping February but stores elsewhere are now starting to slip to March.

From what I've seen, entire Asia has been pushed to March.

Hope it doesn't affect my initial February date for shipping.

Looks like something went wrong somewhere...dammit!

For the nervous of disposition: in a month, the delivery time went back over a month…
