One of my favorite sentences in the English language....
OMG that's gotta feel good!!!!!!!!

One of my favorite sentences in the English language....
I do not have any intention of canceling my order at this time, but I will say I will never again pre-order any product from Apple. Based on the spreadsheet, and that the nMP for our office (ordered Dec 20, same config as mine) was delivered already, it is obvious there was no point in waking up an hour earlier than normal to put my order in. I will continue to patiently wait until the end of January 31, and if no shipping notice is received, I will find a way to get in contact with someone at Apple who can answer the questions I will have at that point.
Congrats to everyone who has received theirs.
Analog Guy, did you really get the prep for ship notice on Saturday??? The first Apple February order! But an order placed on 12/26???
ARGH!!!!
It arrived today
OMG that's gotta feel good!!!!!!!!
Yes...but this feels even better!
WHOA!!!!! CONGRATS MAN!!!!!
We must be in the same building or something..................
Wow!! That is very well done!!
... I'd hate to see a ton of ship notices sent out at 11:59pm on 1/31.
Yeehaaa, the fabulous word of the day "Shipped" appeared in the order status.

cruel? maybe.
dishonest? unfortunately not.
Quibble all you want about accuracy but it certainly does not "delight customers" to fulfill orders at the last promised moment, particularly when those customers see orders placed after theirs being shipped earlier.
Did Apple meet the low bar of expectations that they set? Yes (assuming they do ship all the January orders this month)
Did Apple exceed expectations? Certainly not, particularly for those who are enthusiastic enough to create a tracking spreadsheet and actively participate in a forum discussing fulfillment.
Even if I receive a ship notice today I am not going to look back fondly at the ordering/fulfillment experience.
