My order changed to "Preparing for shipment" in the last half hour...:):):)

P.S. My stock QC order submitted at 3:30AM PST wasn't on the spreadsheet, since I (being a Lapack rather than spreadsheet kind of guy) couldn't figure out where that European tab was located...

Is yours in Newark again? Mine has stayed in Philadelphia so far...

No, mine's having a stop over in Philadelphia at the moment too. I haven't had the situation where it's gone back to a previous location yet, although plenty of other people have so if it happens I won't be all that surprised.

EDIT: I see why you were asking. Scissor's machine did the Newark -> Philadelphia -> Newark thing on its travels - I wonder if ours will too?

Looks like mine is coming today. Apple's e-mail said Feb 3rd delivery, but Fedex tracking says it is going to be delivered today by 8PM. Not on truck for delivery yet, but it was scanned in at 5:52AM this morning in Pittsburgh. Usually around 8AM they do the truck scans and put it on the truck for delivery. Hoping that's the case today. Looks like I'll be taking a half day at work.

@AJ: I am not sure if the unit physically moves between Newark and Philly or if it's only the paperwork for scanning etc.
In my cast the only thing that really counts was the "in time" notification in the UPS iPhone App - was was really helpful during the "hard days". As long as it is green everything is OK.

Thanks for that, firstofnine. I've downloaded the app and it's got the nice green "On time" message on it. I'd imagine it's the same as the "On time" message on the tracking web page? Either way, theres no doubt I'll be checking both frequently over the next few days. ;)

AJ, I keep my fingerts crossed for you and all of you waiting patiently.
But - and you may laugh: now that the nMP arrived I feel a bit empty. After 44 days constantly checking status, reading these kind of forums and finally checking shippment now it feels a little like being homeless :confused::confused:
But this evening when unboxing the can...... YESSSS!:D

It'll be interesting to see how my cancellation goes. I cancelled through B&H and, since it was a Drop ship order, they had to cancel through Apple. I'm still waiting for a confirmation of cancellation. I wouldn't be upset if the order went through quickly and I still received the nMP, but I'm just wondering if Apple would try to retain the sale.

So wheres Scissors? by the front door on a chair sweating?

Well, mine arrived this morning. Should think Scissors has his too, by now.

By heck, Apple, you kept me on tenterhooks for that one.

First impressions - quiet - is it on?

Shiny. Shows fingerprints a treat.

Goes well, very fast boot.

As well engineered as any Apple product, very well thought out.

My oh my, it's dense.

Cheers everyone
Rob

And the scores on the doors...

Really interesting to read all the latest comments from everyone. Lots of different stages. Some about to receive their machines, others got them but can't use them yet. Some still waiting…! Didn't' Scissors say he had to get the machine home on the train under his jacket?

Anyway, here's the final spreadsheet update for January:

First of all, this is how it stood at 4.15pm yesterday (UK time).

US - 5 out of 67 still with no dates
Canada - 2 out of 11 still with no dates
Europe - 3 out of 31 still with no dates
Asia/Oceania - 4 out of 13 still with no dates

and here's how it stands at 4.50pm Friday (UK time). Changes in red.

US - 3 out of 67 still with no dates
Canada - 2 out of 11 still with no dates
Europe - 3 out of 31 still with no dates
Asia/Oceania - 1 out of 13 still with no dates

It could be that out of these 9 units left, some have shipped today but the spreadsheet won't be updated until later on. Some may have shipped already or been cancelled and the spreadsheet not updated. With such a small number, and the fact that Apple generally do ship when they say they will (even if it's at the last minute) I do wonder if we'll find out later on that all January orders have been fulfilled?

For the record, mine's still in Philadelphia (or at least the paperwork is).

Here we are...

Taken from my phone so not ideal colours. Brought my regular camera in and took pics on that took but can't upload from here.

Will open and play when I get home tonight... all to look forward to :)

No prizes for guessing where in London I am.

Edit: Yes, I have to get to London Waterloo then out to Surrey. The box is slightly larger than I was expecting but I'll survive. Subdiv had a great idea for a carry case but I think with one of those I'd be even more likely to get mugged :)

I'm still waiting. It's just after 10am on the 31st here.
The worst part is that I posted a reply on here yesterday that like my nMP, didn't show up. My post explained a very interesting phone call I had with Apple where the implied that she can only hope that my computer will ship this month but thinks that it won't happen. Here's me hoping.

Hahaha. Fortunately today was a day where I had things to do, so I couldn't hang around looking out of the window for a brown van. I was still sweating though.

This really did make me laugh. Truly awful colours.

Congrats! Glad it's arrived. I'm in surrey to, have fun on the train, I'm sure you'd fight to the death for it after the wait ;)

Ha! AJ's day would probably not be complete without someone picking on him...and you're probably right about the Scotch cooler. You're better off putting it back in the plain brown shipping box and writing "Not a Mac Pro" on the outside. Glad you got it! :D

Mine arrived, too. Am writing this on it. Great nice little and extremely silent can.

And even after tormenting my D300 with heaven bench (good 22,8fps) the GPU has 56°C and the nMP is only slightly less silent, just warmer air from it. Very happy till now.

We get the new firmware already so one update less. Am currently waiting for my 52GB Logic download gets over ;)

No matter how fast these things get, setting them up still takes a really long time.

As the work day is almost over here in western canada, I called to see why my MP hasn't shipped in jan like it was supposed to. The lady told me that some of the MPs are made in Kentucky but all of the CTOs are assembled in/shipped from over seas if you can believe it. She said they ship around the clock over there so she said hopefully they'll ship it before midnight. I'll keep you guys posted.

Can someone give some comparison results?

Heaven extreme = 6core, D300 -> 22.8 fps
Valley extreme = 6core, D300 -> 30.5 fps

Made it home yet scissors? Hope it didn't get too wet in all this rain

Yes, I made it home! However, in 8 years of commuting into London, I have never seen Waterloo as crowded as tonight. Partly due to the rain, it being Friday, a jumper at Putney, a trackside fire at Wimbledon... I know, cool story bro.

Here's a better version of my photo earlier, minus the AJ post-it :)

So how's the nMP? Well, I've only just started it up but one thing has surprised me... I can hear the fan. My rMBP was completely silent. It's not loud by any measure but it's got a bit of whine/chatter to it which I wasn't expecting. I'm sure I could live with it if it's normal... just I'd got it in my head I wouldn't hear anything. How would others describe the fan noise from their nMPs?!
