Yeah, if the Mac Pro wasn't so supply-contrained, I would be shipping this back. Having an account already created sounds really fishy. Who knows what might have been installed?

Given that it is in short supply, I don't know what I'd do.

After hearing about NSA installing spyware on new machines, I'm planning on reinstalling a fresh OS on anything I get. Not like that will stop the. Either, but it will give me peace of mind....and will be SNAPPIER.

Same email here too, but I thought it was a delay notification so I was somewhat glad it said February as originally planned.

I also got the no-info email. Hopes were expertly raised and then dashed in mere moments. This is the first one Ive gotten though so thats a little heartening. Slowly but surely the machine churns on.

Got an email and call from my Apple Store business rep today – nMP is ready to ship! I had to clear up the charge with my credit card company, and now I'm just waiting for the status change to "preparing for shipment". I ordered the afternoon of the 19th EST and had a "February" shipping estimate. As most people on this board, it will feel very weird to not be obsessively checking the status page over and over again.

Hmm. I ordered Dec 20 and have received no such email. I wonder if the email is going to those who will receive product in later Feb and those who ordered earlier for Feb will not get an email. Or perhaps I'm just screwed ;-)

We were asking the same question this time last month for the January orderers. Turns out there was no pattern between receiving one of these beautiful empty emails and the timing of shipment.

if you don't have it yet, oh man, i might have to wait till end of february I'm here in chicago maybe it'll be expedited due to area location, hoping on anything now really am tired of working on my mac mini

That email seems same to the email I received in early January. Most of people who had Jan. ship date received the same e-mail.
When it was sent in early January, "recent order" wasn't storage. They just copied the January email.

I just got the no-info email. I ordered a Mac Pro on January 1, with shipping status consistently reading "February."

To others who haven't gotten the email: Mine was in Gmail's spam folder! When I marked it as "not spam" Gmail even asked me if it could "share the email with the Gmail spam team." Odd. Anyway, check your spam filter.

Maybe Gmail filtered the email because it was devoid of content.

Finally . . .

My Christmas auto-gift arived at last this morning. (02/04/2014 _ 9:15 AM, Paris time).
8 Cores, 1TB SSD, 64GB Memory, 2xD500
I had ordered it on 12/19/2013, around 10 AM local time. From what I heard from Apple commercials it went first "in Asia" to be customised , then was shipped to my place here ( a suburb of Paris) on the 01/27/2014 from Austin (Texas) by UPS.

Today, I received the infamous "Important information about your order" email, telling me my Mac Pro order would ship in February. No surprise there.

I received this email twice, for my order placed on 12/26 and for my order placed on 1/2. What is more interesting is that the order from 1/2 shipped on 1/31 and is due on 2/6.

Obviously, the system that generates this email is a bit disconnected from others. It seems to have little bearing on whether your items is about to ship, nowhere near shipping -- or maybe even in your hands already.

Just checking in to see how the Feb orders are going. Seems a bit slow at the moment but I suppose it's still early in the month (not much consolation if you have a Feb estimate). If you didn't get the email from Apple don't fret too much - I was a January order and as Scissors mentioned not everyone got the January version of the email - me included. Doesn't seem to mean much.

Rather than the Mac Pro it's probably got one of those stone angels in it. [Dr Who reference]

I cancelled my original order... again, for the same reason... stepping up to a bigger and better model.

My original order was for 6 core / D500 / 32 GB / 512
I changed it to 6 core / D700 / 32 GB / 1TB

Now I'm thinking 8 core / D700 / 64GB / 1TB (almost fully loaded)

I unfortunately won't be able to do much yet. The ACD I ordered used isn't fully functional so I'm sending it back for an exchange after I set up the nMP. In the mean time I'll have to use my MBA with remote desktop.

It's an old 24" I ordered from usedmac.com to hold me off until I can buy a real 4k display at a reasonable price. The screen is alright given the age, but the iSight, speakers etc don't work. Apple Store diagnosed it as failed logic board, so I'm sending it back for replacement.
