I'm glad to see that the "Class of February" is starting to graduate. As a "Class of January" member, I will say that my Mac Pro has become "just my computer," in all the right ways. It feels comfortable, lived in, and dependable. The only thing that still surprises me is how quiet it is when I walk into my studio. I hope everyone loves theirs.

I have to say, at least most of you are getting email updates from Apple. I ordered mine on January 17 and received the order confirmation emails as well as emails regarding the monitor and other peripherals, but have yet to receive one regarding the status of the MacPro.

I ordered Dec 20. Received a few days ago without ever receiving an email from Apple. Receiving or not receiving the email is meaningless.

We are coming into the final week February!!

Was hoping it would come early half of February but now it's the final 5-7 days of feb... Waited 7-8 weeks for it... Another week should be okay..I guess :/

I called AppleCare today. Apparently they are pretty easy going with upgrading to expedited shipping, but unfortunately it doesn't apply if you have it shipped to pick up at an Apple Store. Plus, it was nice just to get some reassurance that everything is on schedule and that my computer will definitely ship this week.

Im at Day 3 of sitting in Luxembourg. I could fly there this morning and be back with it this afternoon myself. Who runs their logistics department!?!

I'm on day 65 waiting for my order to change from processing items to preparing for shipment. So, in my current situation I would be more than happy if my new shiny was stuck in transit somewhere for a moment. At least it would be on its way.

Had I known Apple is doing some kind of delivery lottery in February - meaning completely ignoring when customers placed their orders - I would have made sure I was in the January delivery timeframe which I missed by only a few hours. It's really pathetic Apple still hasn't fulfilled all the day 1 orders.

The Eagle has landed

I picked up my 8c/32g/1TB/D700 last evening from my local apple store, It was delivered, as promised earlier this month to an improved availability date from my original March 06 availability date I received when I placed my order on 8:29 AM PSt on 12/19/13.:)

I will unbox and set it up after I post this message. Thanks Scissors for creating the spreadsheet, it helped to pass the time. As one of the last spreadsheet 12/19 entries to receive their order, I hope all those who are currently patiently awaiting their nMP will have a much shorter wait than I did.

A parting thought…I am composing this on a 1,1 oMP, I bought in 2006. Much is being made of the nMP and its pros and cons relative to expandability and ability to be upgraded. I believe that Apple now knows they have created a paradigm shift and a new higher threshold on the price we are all willing to pay for a technology platform that has a life span of a decade. After all my current Mac Pro has lasted 8 years and is still humming along.

There will be upgrades to the CPU (perhaps even a dual configuration), GPU's and the SSD. Apple will not repeat the mistake of crippling this Mac Pro. If Apple does not follow this path, "3rd parties" will do it for them.

Some people restore cars as a hobby, I will upgrade my 1,1 oMP. I already have the matched pair CPU's to take it to 2,1 and I will follow the threads here and elsewhere to see where the road leads beyond that.

Ultimately I may be proven wrong in my prediction of the nMP's future but I don't think that will happen…see you all in 10 years!

Preparing for shipment......finally

Ordered December 20, preparing for shipment today. This has been a rough wait, but coming to an end soon.

Finally my 6c 1TB 64GB D700 has moved to Preparing For Shipment overnight.

Ordered 26 December via the Apple Australia online store.

Not sure how long it's going to take from here but very happy that things are finally moving. I've had the credit card authorisation over the last week or so, but as of now the card doesn't look to have been charged and the authorisation is gone.

I've seen varying comments about the length of time it takes from here to delivery on Australian orders so fingers crossed it arrives sometime this week.

Dispatched tonight. Delivery scheduled for Feb 28th. Cutting it seriously fine but I suppose technically they've kept their promise! :)

Hmm, still in Luxembourg but on schedule for delivery tomorrow to me tomorrow in the UK. The small print also says 'we will email you AT LEAST 48 Business hours before delivery with courier and tracking number details' which says Wednesday delivery at the earliest as ive not had any email. Which one do i believe?

Apples communication through all of this has been absolutely shocking for us all. Its that more than anything thats making this more painful than it needs to be.

Even more confused now! Just this moment received a text message saying 'todays the day' Your order will be delivered to you today! and then a link to the apple order status page which still says its in Luxembourg and coming tomorrow.

Apple seriously need to review their communication systems and customer service policy.

Id be over the moon if it arrived on a Sunday but i cant see it.

Are you tracking it on the UPS site directly or on the Apple Order page that supposedly 'links up' to it?

Isn't the number they give in your shipping email the tracking number?

Nope, sadly not. Just tried the 'reference number' that i have in the UPS Site. Courier Name and tracking number are still blank on my order page and it says they will be provided 48 hours before as noted above.

At least it looks like its coming tomorrow. :)

Strange! My tracking number is the same as reference number but no tracking info yet as it's been less than 24 hours.

Enjoy! Mine comes Friday.
