Happy for you! Enjoy!

Just curious - did you ask for the mouse? I've called several times in the last week because I need to travel for business, but need to be present to receive the computer. They've given me no new information or an offer of anything to make up for the lack of information. It's crazy how different they treat different customers. I know I'm not a big customer, but I'm still handing them over 4k!

I actually didn't ask for the mouse. I asked a few questions about my order (getting no new information) and nicely said how frustrating it was to wait so long without any information. Then I asked if there was anything she could do to help and she eventually offered me the mouse.

By the way, I'm not a big customer either. It seems there are some items the service reps have more discretion over, such as the upgrade to next day shipping and potentially now this mouse.

Soooo, hey macrumors! Long time lurker, first time poster.

Thought I'd share my story here, because it seems no one else is as sympathetic as you guys are :D It's more a vent than anything, so don't stress giving me any further info, I've waited so long I'm slowly coming to terms with it.

Location: Melbourne, Australia
The build: 8 Core, 32GB, D700, 256gb.

Ordered my Mac Pro a few minutes after it went on sale on Dec 19, over the phone with an apple sales exec. It was with an education discount (last year of uni) and with Apple financing. However due to the fact that my build cost more than the financing I was offered, I had to deposit the extra 2k (approx) into the financing account before my order could be completed.

Order finally got processed on the 27/12, however my official order states "Ordered Dec 19". Unfortunately in that week, shipping had slipped from Jan to Feb, and that is where I landed. I'm not sure where my order actually sits in the "queue" as it seems with people not having their CC charged until just before the build, that finances aren't the precursor to an official order.

Anyway, with 3 days left of the month and still in "order processing", I'm starting to get a little antsy, and I'm sure you all understand hehe.

I'm looking forward to it SO SO SO much. I started freelancing as a motion graphic designer early last year and as my work load is increasing I'm finding my rMBP just doesn't cut it anymore. Yes, that's right, I'm going from a MBP to a nMP. I am so excited that thinking about it makes me pee a little bit.

Anyway, if you happened to read all of this, THANK YOU! I'm done now! I'll try and keep you all up to date!

Cheers

Wahhhhhh! I ordered on 19/12, completed financing on 27/12, and I'm still "processing items".

Holy Guacamole! First sign of anything since original order receipt Jan 16 -- a pending charge for AppleCare!

I want to believe this is because they've matched an actual nMP to my order.

Maybe it actually will ship in February!

Glad it arrived! I just got my UPS tracking number so fingers crossed for a slightly smoother delivery experience here on Friday. Enjoy!

I get the feeling that a whole bunch of them arrived yesterday so i expect yours is already in the country. Hope friday comes soon for you!

As an aside, my shes fast when starting photoshop compared to my iMac!!! :D

Not exactly order related but i noted my new Dell U2713H looked a little blurry when i was scrolling and a quick search showed that when using Displayport it was running in YcBcr and not RGB. This is a known issue and a limitation in OSX.

Ive yet to apply the override and will be doing it tonight.

Info here:

Thought it could be useful for us new nMp owners as i didnt know about this issues until i googled.

Ordered at 13 January from Apple Store Russia.

BTO: 6-core, 32GB, 1 TB, D700.

Card got charged the instant i've confirmed the order (yeah, this is how it works here), something around $7K in Russia for this setup.

Currently says "Processing, shipping: February". Called Apple last week, phone lady said she cannot tell me anything nor can do anything about that. She also said that my order is one of the first in Russia.

Apparently, "shipping" means sending it from USA (quite the opposite of how the delivery is handled for every other item in Apple Store here) - so that adds a couple of weeks for delivery/customs. On top of already screwed-up order.

Considering it's just 2 days left till the end of February, will cancel the order on 1st of March - because this is just going too far. I did not pay outrageous amount of money to be treated like ****.

Might switch back to Windows/Linux as well, considering there's no workstation-class computer available from Apple.

P.S. Also, as the order was paid for in russian roubles (and rouble got devalued noticeably this year) - will have to lose several hundred bucks on refund. Nice one, Apple!

It finally happened. My status changed to Preparing for Shipment.

This uncertainty of when it will ship was almost killing me. And the lack of communication during this long period is definitely something Apple can improve on.

Now they only have to hand it over to UPS so they can get that box to my doorstep, but the worst waiting part is over. I can sit back and relax now and once it's shipped watch status updates on the UPS site instead of refreshing the Apple Order Status page. :)

Have been waiting since Dec 19, joined the forums today to comment on it. I swear apple is watching me because in the last few hours it's changed from "processing" to "preparing to ship". Also it's almost the end of the month and completely makes sense

Ordered the 6 core/d700/16/512 on jan 19th and apple just charged my card this am. Says processing still. I don't know what this means, based on what I have seen in this thread it should be a few more weeks before it ships. I'm guessing the charge will fall off. Maybe they just want to see if the cc is still valid lol.

Didnt really get chance to say last night but the first thing i did was take the lid off mine to look inside. The lid itself is a beautiful piece of Engineering/Machining in its right and contributes a significant amount to the overall weight. Just gorgeous, and cant wait to get home and actually put it through its paces.

Lucky! I ordered the same build on January 17 and have not received any notification whatsoever from Apple. Nothing. Just my order confirmation back on January 17. nothing since then. Reached out to Apple Executive Care and they said "it will ship in February", but nothing yet.

Frequent thread refresher here- I have been keeping myself sane ever since placing my order.
Ordered Jan 6th - 6 core 32 gb ram
Credit card charged today..

Hopefully ships soon.. :-/

Status update: I ordered on 1/1. Got a pending charge for AppleCare on 2/19, with no other change in order status. Called Apple 2/24; they upgraded my shipping, assured me it'd ship this week; no change in status; AppleCare charge dropped off.

2/25, got a pending charge for the Pro plus tax; no AppleCare charge; no change in status.

Maddening!

Im not holding my breath lol. It will prob fall off.

temp authorization

Just an update from another January order and February shipping person. I ordered a customized 4 core on 1/10. Yesterday I had a temporary authorization pop up on my credit card. Fingers crossed that the wait will be over soon.

fyi, I also spoke to an Apple rep and had my shipping upgraded at no additional charge.

Just an update from another January order and February shipping person.

I ordered a CTO Mac Pro early morning on Dec. 19. and I'm still waiting. I'm pretty annoyed and aggravated at Apple's lack of meaningful communication. Two say nothing emails and a phone conversation that only repeated the "February" mantra just aren't cutting it.

Not really thrilled that people who ordered January are getting shipments, though I realize they're probably 6cores mostly. Mine's still processing. Couple of days to go, Damnit.

In time honoured tradition....

Arrived dead on 6pm. Courier said he was driving up to Birmingham this morning and got a call to collect it and bring it back (from Birmingham, so not sure where it came into the UK) and deliver it by 6. Was a nice guy and i thanked him after the Story.

Good job Apple (despite the 5 week wait and mixed communication)

Time to unbox...

Glad you finally got your machine. Had to laugh at the post it note. Hahahaha.

Enjoy it! I'm still grinning like a crazy person after 3 weeks with mine.

UPS just dropped mine off.. Now about that monitor

PS - what a crappy picture! Real men use pink post it notes! :p

Long time lurker just dropping in to say thanks for everyone on this thread. I placed my order on 12/25 for a 12 core (merry christmas to me) with the apple education discount. It said and still says on my order preparing for shipment. I was charged and then uncharged twice for apple care the most recent being last week. I called apple and asked if they could expedite the shipping, which they did. But there's two days left in the month and I have to say I'm not feeling too great about actually getting mine shipped in february.

I guess if they miss they're deadline I'll call again and see if I can get some cash back or a magic mouse or something.

Maybe I was reading into it a little but the lady I spoke to on the phone when I upgraded the shipping didn't sound too hopeful of them hitting their shipping dates. I'm sure it has something to do with the 12core or the d700 (because everything else I ordered was basic). I've been waiting for 4 years for this type of mac pro and I've tackled every hackintosh and macbook pro, xmacmini solution I could try before they announced this computer and the last few days of waiting are the worst!
