Ok, this one is for the fine tradion here :)

It finally arrived around 5pm. Unpacking it, it was a feeling like 2001: A Space Odyssey, when the black monolith appeared for the first time...

Long journey came to an end...Thanks to you all for making waiting so short.
Hope the rest of us will get their nMP soon!

How is Apple doing with the 5-7 day promise?

I got notification last week from CSR rep that it would be 5-7 days but I find it hard to believe as I ordered Jan 18th and people that ordered in Dec have not gotten theirs. Im not in a rush but my bday is March 10th so it would be nice.

The long wait for my new Mac Pro is finally over. And as far as I can tell after only a few hours toying around with it, the wait was worth it.

So everyone still anxiously waiting to get theirs, I hope your wait isn't as long as the 74 days it took mine from order to delivery.

so my order is still processing but now at the end says available march 12th, not too sure how that works but my magic mouse was available a day early than what was posted so we'll see, ordered dec 26th with feb date and I'm getting mid march, no bueno apple, no bueno

Ordered in December

Until today, it said "Available to ship February".
Now it says:
Available to ship: 5 - 7 business days
Delivers: Mar 10 - Mar 12 by Next Day Shipping

I really hope this is the case.

Checked my order today and have the march 12 date as well. I talked to apple yesterday and they assured me mine was in the next pack they were working on. I also noticed the charges fell off my card. But oh well!

Longest wait for a computer ever.

Ordered December 28th.
Thursday I got the 5-7 business days thing.

Now I check and I'm getting 5-7 business days, reverted to Standard shipping, delivery estimate 13th-17th? UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You pay almost 8K for a computer, and have it delayed by half a month?

MARCH 17TH?!?!?!?!
Last i checked I had my order upgraded to overnight shipping. NOW I GOTTA WAIT FOR STANDARD SHIPPING?!?!?!?! AFTER ALL THIS WAIT?!?!?!?!
That is NOT ok, not by a damn stretch. They can keep their stupid trackpad.

Ordered Feb 6th, status still "Processing Items, Available to ship: March". It will be four weeks this Thursday. At what point do I eMail Tim Cook and inquire about WHEN in March?

In the meantime, I'm diverting my attention to March of Robots. My day 01 entry, "The Mac Pro-bot?"

You're probably looking at may or june. You can forget April right off.

The wait is over. Next up: trip to the store this afternoon.

Good thing I live near the store. Too bad it didn't come in February but at least it earned me $150 discount.

When I checked with my bank, the rep said the temporary authorization was still there and pending despite my not being able to see it, or it still not being charged to my account, yet. At least in my case, the temp authorization disappeared from view--even though it's actually still there and pending--when the calendar flipped to March. In any case, I had my bank extend the notice to allow a large charge from Apple until the end of March, just in case. (It wouldn't surprise me if the 12th comes and goes, too, without my order being delivered.)

Welp... my two month journey is over now. I got the text around 2pm today and ran out to the store to get it. Apparently it was the first one they had come in and there was a lot of Genius' congratulating me on my purchase.

I have her fired up and this was the first thing I thought to do... i'll be sitting her all night.

while i'm on here.. any suggestions on a decent iSCSI client?

Thank you to everyone on this thread... it has kept me sane.

Hahaha

Looking good, 50Bytes, pleased you've got your machine. Enjoy it. :)

Well, I took a long shot and eMailed Tim Cook an hour 1/2 ago. Got a call an hour later from a rep in Austin, TX from the Apple Online Executive Relations team. I am splitting my purchase in half, with one source coming from a new Barclaycard and I didn't want to get screwed over by their terms. He assured me they would be contacted of the situation. He was not able to give me any assurance as to shipping date, however, mentioned that I'm most likely going to see "end of March" time frame. So, probably 7 weeks for me since I ordered on Feb 6th. Let's just hope it doesn't slip to April.

the barclay card people are real nice, just give them a call and explain apples whole thing about not charging until purchase is actually ready to ship and they will extend it a month and if no charge yet call back and they will do it again

Still Waters Run Deep

I've tried to remain philosophical in the waiting game for the nMP. After all, it's been several years since a re-fresh of the model to something "totally different." I'm happy about that & have not really become too emotional in a few months waiting (wry humor).

Anyway, I'm posting to let let others know my benchmarks.

Today (this afternoon, in fact) I finally got something definite from Apple regarding getting the product I ordered. As with other recent posts my nMp is Ready to Ship 5-7 Business days. Delivers: March 10-12. Initially it stated that it was being shipped via expedited shipping, but now it does not state that.

I ordered January 12, 2014:

3.5GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5
16GB 1866MHz DDR3 ECC - 4X4GB
512GB PCIe-based Flash Storage
Dual AMD FirePro D300-2GB VRAM

On Feb. 24th received a pending charge to my CC re AppleCare; on Feb. 26th received a pending charge to my CC re my nMP order itself; on Feb 27th received a phone call from Apple in Texas telling me my order would ship in 5-7 days.

The only thing that bothers me regarding this waiting game is the silence of Apple. If only they would have stated that they were having shipping/production problems due to demand/unexpected glitches, it would have made it more bearable.

Otherwise, it could be a helluva lot worse! It could be a Wintel---that's how far back I go with Apple.

My December 19 evening order (6/32/512/D300) arrived today, March 3.

wow! I ordered after you on the 21st (afternoon) and got it almost a week earlier...
What the flack is going on over in Texas?

Meanwhile I haven't even used the the dam thing. It's sitting in my dinning room table as I'm waiting for my monitor to ship :/

ordered 1/6. got the call last week that they could no longer make the February delivery and that i should expect shipment in 5-7 business days. Today the estimate said it would deliver the 10th - 12th via next day air. However, a couple hours ago I checked and the status was "preparing to ship." Got a tracking number a few minutes ago... should be delivered this Wed. I guess the 5-7 day estimate was a little conservative...

I ordered after you on the 21st (afternoon) and got it almost a week earlier.

I cannot explain it either and, when I called and referenced the spreadsheet that showed mine among the last unfulfilled December 19 orders, neither could Apple.

Setup pics to come.

Good luck to you and all delivered and pending, and thanks to Scissors for the document!
