Hang in there!

I ordered the same machine and received it last Friday. I've connected all of my 16 devices, some way to old to mention, many hard drives, new stuff including the Intuos Pro and it's all working. I went from 10.7.5 on my 2006 Mac Pro 1,1 to 10.9.2 without loosing ANY hardware or software. It all works and is working well. I have 30,000 emails which took a minimum of 15 secs to start mail now down to under 2 seconds. A couple of ideas:

1. Sign up for Ups my choice (free) and if your machine ships UPS select change delivery option once you have a tracking number. Select "pick up at UPS". You'll be able to pick it up early am at UPS on the day you'd be spending waiting for the truck.

2. I have a bunch of drives that are still good and big. I tried a bunch of things and found for low use but available drives OWC Touro USB 3 enclosures at about $2 are fast and great. No fan so can't be used for any intense use but for photo storage or time machine or iTunes or whatever that won't need to be spinned up constantly they are great. Sleep and wake up perfectly.

3. I have more hardware on order to get this mess organized!

Enjoy!

I've tried to remain philosophical in the waiting game for the nMP. After all, it's been several years since a re-fresh of the model to something "totally different." I'm happy about that & have not really become too emotional in a few months waiting (wry humor).

Anyway, I'm posting to let let others know my benchmarks.

Today (this afternoon, in fact) I finally got something definite from Apple regarding getting the product I ordered. As with other recent posts my nMp is Ready to Ship 5-7 Business days. Delivers: March 10-12. Initially it stated that it was being shipped via expedited shipping, but now it does not state that.

I ordered January 12, 2014:

3.5GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5
16GB 1866MHz DDR3 ECC - 4X4GB
512GB PCIe-based Flash Storage
Dual AMD FirePro D300-2GB VRAM

On Feb. 24th received a pending charge to my CC re AppleCare; on Feb. 26th received a pending charge to my CC re my nMP order itself; on Feb 27th received a phone call from Apple in Texas telling me my order would ship in 5-7 days.

The only thing that bothers me regarding this waiting game is the silence of Apple. If only they would have stated that they were having shipping/production problems due to demand/unexpected glitches, it would have made it more bearable.

Otherwise, it could be a helluva lot worse! It could be a Wintel---that's how far back I go with Apple.

Lucky! I ordered on the same day but has not shipped yet..still processing

ordered 1/6. got the call last week that they could no longer make the February delivery and that i should expect shipment in 5-7 business days. Today the estimate said it would deliver the 10th - 12th via next day air. However, a couple hours ago I checked and the status was "preparing to ship." Got a tracking number a few minutes ago... should be delivered this Wed. I guess the 5-7 day estimate was a little conservative...

Well, so much for Apple assuring me when I got the '5 to 7 day delay' call that when it shipped, my nMP would ship "by the fastest means possible" - it's been stuck in Amsterdam since Friday!

After being told by my Austin Apple Executive Support CS rep that I would have my package upgraded to expedited shipping, it shipped last Thursday via UPS ground, scheduled to be delivered today. Now after waiting a further 6 days unnecessarily, the snow storm the DC area received yesterday has created an "adverse weather delay" on my shipment and is now being delayed until tomorrow. I called UPS and asked to come and pick it up, in person, at the UPS facility. UPS says I am unable to due so because, despite the package being delivered this morning at 3:04 am to the facility it hasn't received a "destination scan" yet and thus hasn't been sorted and thus I cannot come and just get it myself.

::headdesk::

Ordered a 6c/12GB/1TB/D700 on 1/13. Credit card charged, prepped to ship, and shipped all within a few hours today. Arrives tomorrow.

Woohoo!

losing money by the day so getting really frustrated now, called apple and nothing, no answers as to why some CTO builds ordered in january are being delivered before my base stock model, no answers to anything other than that texas phone call, will be delivered 5-7 business days although its saying available march 12th now and if you add it up, thats 8 business :mad::mad: the person i spoke with had me talk with a manager who said he will personally call me if any changes came up for my order status, so at least i don't have to log on every hour hoping status changed

You. Shut. Your. Mouth.

Guys on March, don't expect too much. Available on March means 31st March. Apple really screws this up. You may get your Mac Pro in April.

You. Shut. Your. Mouth. Your blasphemous filthy mouth! :D I've constructed a place for my sanity out of tissue paper and pipe-cleaners, so yeah not entirely that sturdy. I actually pre-paid for my nMP. Originally ordered on the Jan 3 then reordered Jan 21 using the Edu Discount. What a mistake. The discount cost me potential lost revenue because of the extra month long wait.

I can't wait for April.

----------

UPS just dropped of my MacPro.

Is the post-it note still a thing? I'm always late to these memes.

Congratulations!:D

Looks like mine is set to shipping to store now. That being said I got a credit for the delay and they applied to te wrong card after we discussed which one to apply it to. Oh apple.

at least they are not giving you your money back on a gift card that you're forced to use at apple/iTunes.

Wow, seeing it in person is nice. Dense little thing.
January 1st order
6 core/1tb/12gig/d300
Shipped on Saturday arrived today for store pickup.
Pics sideways but who cares? Not this guy.

supposition: delay was technical, not production

Based on seeing the various purchase dates and ship dates, it appears that Apple is shipping all orders from about Dec 24 through Jan 18 in 3-7 days. I infer from that they were holding shipments due to a technical issue. Is it just a coincidence that a new firmware release occurs on Feb 26, then just a couple of days later all of these machines are being shown ready to ship. My imagination sees a huge warehouse full of nMP that are being given the firmware update and then being shipped as fast as possible.

Can anyone verify based on firmware version from the few machines shipped at the end of December as compared to the firmware version of those received in the last day or two?

Finally!

Some shipping weirdness going on here. Got an email this morning [3/5] from Apple saying my order has shipped and should be via FedEx Overnight tomorrow [3/6]. However, when I check the FedEx tracking site, it says it shipped yesterday [3/4] and will arrive later today [3/5].

I ordered early in the morning on 12/19, so I'd prefer sooner today rather than tomorrow, but this home stretch wait is going to be a killer....

Update I: The Apple rep I've been working with called to let me know my order is shipping. When I asked about the delivery discrepancies, she said it was almost surely on FedEx's end, all of her information says the computer didn't ship yesterday, but will go out for overnight delivery today.

Update II: Despite FedEx's earlier tracking information, my order didn't arrive today; however, tracking now says it's on schedule to be here tomorrow.

Status changed from Processing to Preparing for shipping

Originally ordered 1/16, 6C/1T/D500/16GIG

Although expected shipping is 3/12, hoping it will be sooner but just happy to finally receive it. I suspect, as noted by others, this is part of a massive shipment.

The spreadsheet and updates from everyone has really helped fill in the info. gap for me.

Thanks

order changed to shipping to store :D and my availability of march 12th has been removed, hopefully ill have it tomorrow or friday before the weekend fdiusgbfkdisidfsbvkidfsbikbdskfd excited!!!

12-core in the house!

Ordered 1/1, received 3/5--"February" shipping date notwithstanding.

I'll have a photo eventually.

Thanks everyone for the thread, and Scissors for the spreadsheet!

rawrdinosaurmoo, thanks for the heads-up. My status also just changed from preparing for shipping to shipped to store, with the March 12 date removed.
