Good news and bad news.

A small box in Texas has my name on it. Fedex expects to pick it up this evening and deliver it tomorrow.
Today, my 6-core, 1TB, D700 system i(ordered 1/22) went from processing to shipped. :D

Alas, my line in the spreadsheet will not turn green on St. Patricks day. :(
All things considered, I think I am handling the bad news rather well.

I JUST received notification that my new Mac Pro (ordered Feb 6th) is scheduled to ship and arrive THIS THURSDAY! I'm in shock. :)

Apple is starting to piss me off. I ordered on January 10th and mine is still "processing". The only custom thing about mine is the memory

Finally!

So most of yesterday was spent looking out the window trying to wait for my nMP's arrival like a kid on Christmas Day. It started at 10 am. Running to the window anytime a large truck rolled down my block. I watered the grass, so I could have a reason to be outside when the UPS man carried it down the block. Twelve rolled around...no UPS man. "Feeling queasy." I say to myself. "Why am I feeling sick to my stomach? Maybe I'm feeling queasy 'cause I haven't eaten." I eat. This helps...a little. By three o'clock I was pacing around my living room floor like a lunatic in an asylum.

I'm in Los Angeles and we had an earthquake yesterday, though not very big by California earthquake standards, and for a brief moment I even thought my nMP might have fell off the truck and been crushed. :(

Then...

It happened. At 5:30 pm the UPS man walked 'her' to my doorstep and into my life. Heaven.:D

Happy, happy, joy, joy

I am as blissful as Stimpy.

My 1/22 system arrived today.

I am waiting on Setup assistant to restore a subset of my files before I can play with it. So far, there is nothing to report but silence.

Good luck to all the remaining waiters.

i didn't do much today and i started to think about the mac pro and went on a youtube reviews binge and got angry that i dont have my machine yet. its been 20 days since ordering.

Hell, If it's a 6 core, MacMall has them in stock and roll your own memory!

I ordered on Thursday afternoon and had it in my hands mid day Friday!

I thought about canceling my order for a stock 6 core…but I really want a bigger SSD. If they had any 512GB or 1TB models in stock, I would have done that weeks ago.

As of 6:22am, my Mac Pro is sitting in a location in Vernon, CA, a mere 25 min drive away. HOWEVER, I have to wait until it arrives at the UPS depot tonight, and then have scheduled to go pick up first thing tomorrow morning VS having it sit on the delivery truck all day.

A tad obsessive? HELLS YEAH! :D

Contemplating if I should go pick up a Pegasus2 R4 and get it setup for tomorrow...

Hang in there early order placers, looks like wait times are beginning to shorten (mine ordered Feb 6th)

Same day, no hint of anything happening to my order yet. I wonder if there's any rhyme or reason to this at all - 8 core CTO builds take precedence over 4 core stock? Or is it all just random?

It's random. There is no rational reason why some orders are getting fulfilled earlier than others. Unless Apple have a chaos theory algorithm running on their despatch system.

I ordered a 4c, 512, D300 Feb 23rd and Apple's site said April, the shipping still says April if you were to order a new one today. I'm hoping that means I'll be an early April and not on the 31st.

You guys waiting for 58+ days is nuts. It looks like Apple put you guys on hold to fill orders to places like B&H. Can't make everyone happy I guess.
