Probably 5, but the bounces will be faster.

The bouncing animation always takes a certain amount of time per bounce. Faster machines will bounce less than slower ones.

That said, number of bounces is a terrible metric to rate speed. It says more about the speed and latency of your hard drive than anything else in the machine.

Xbench or geekbench will give you a more complete picture of performance.

Don't understand why it takes so long for the status to change from "not yet shipped" to" prepared for shipping". Ordered mine on 16th and still nothing. Maybe my order got lost in the system?

I think there are a lot of us that ordered on the 16th that are in the same situation. Have to remember 2 of those days were weekend days...

Ordered CTO 15" core i7 with matte display on 4/16, still 'not yet shipped'

I was really hoping for it to ship out tomorrow but that looks unlikely. My original delivery estimate was April 26-April 30...even if it gets here on the 30th i'll be happy :)

Worried about Shipment of CTO 15" 2.66 MBP

This is my first post but I've lurked all the "Waiting for Arrandale" threads. From lolcats to batman comics, iKnowstuff and AppleMayhem, and the many, many crushing Tuesday mornings.

A couple of days ago, the 19th, I finally ordered my first Apple computer a 15 inch i7 with the 7200 RPM drive and HR Glosst CTO options. I'm extremely happy to finally be making the switch to Apple after many long years of being a PC only user.

The only hitch is I wished I had placed the order a bit sooner because many of you already know that the ship times have gone up for CTO MBPs. I ordered the laptop along with Final Cut Studio(to complete my transfer to Apple for my video editing) for a 24-hour film festival taking place from the 30th-1st. My order currently is:

Not yet shipped

MBP 15.4/2.66/CTO
Custom configured
Ships: 5 - 7 business days
Delivers: 28 Apr - 4 May

Is there any hope for me to expect it during the end of next week? It's on expedited shipping and the order was placed on the 19th so I still have hope if it is shipped on Monday or Tuesday of next week.

Glad to finally make an account here, hopefully you're all enjoying/will enjoy your MBPs as well!

I decided to go with AmEx to order after so many problems - but has anyone else had issues ordering with MasterCard? It denied my order because they thought it was fraud, and then I called them up and they said that it would let the order through and it denied it again.

This happened to my friend this morning when he tried to order mine with a Mastercard. Same issue--claiming it was fraud--though they didn't explain what exactly was fraudulent. He ended up ordering through Macmall and still had to have the card company on the phone with him to confirm that it was his card. Weird.

That said, I'll be officially joining the Mac club tomorrow, as his order is a birthday present to me. Got the high-end 15" (standard config) and it'll be delivered tomorrow. SO excited!

Oy, I wish I could justify needing a new MBP. The 15" Hi-res antiglare i5 low end would be perfect for me.

But my 2007 SR MBP still does everything I need and does it speedily! The only thing I don't like about it is the battery life (around 1.5 hours now), but I could easily increase that by just buying a new battery.

But then again I see similar MBPs on eBay going for $1000... talk about an incentive!

Ordered on launch day, received the following tuesday morning! Loving it so far, 1 charge cycle and been using it casually for the last few days without need to charge. Battery indicator was red, but remaining time was estimated at 3 more hours! love it!

That's a good price, looked at the same configuration and it come up at £2399

Enjoy

I sure hope Obama's government programs don't push us into having to pay VAT. All I can say is "ouch" for you. No wonder my family from the UK sneaks DVD's and electronics back across the pond when they visit a couple times a year.

Man, I didn't get to this thread when i first got it, but my first Mac, bought on Sunday:

13" base 2.4 C2D, 4GB, 250GB HDD

It's awesome. I really love it!

I have just ordered my 1st laptop in my life and its 15" MacBook Pro i7@2.66 Ghz as shown below on my signature. Will be arriving soon from 3rd-7th May 2010.

I love Win7 but at the same time i would love to experience MAC too. Chose MBP instead of Dell Studio XPS16 i7. MBP comes with great quality and looks. Love it! with new i7 and GT330M, shouldn't be a problem for WOW max settings and upcoming Starcraft 2. Also, going for the iLife features that comes with it.

Ordered and received a HP printer too to get reimburse from Apple Online Store that comes with the MBP for the price of the printer. Yes! its free. Pay now get back later. Can't wait for my MBP to arrive and its gonna be my first laptop and first Mac experience.

For those ordering from Australia Apple Online Store like me, the machine is configured in China and then, shipped to Singapore Apple (the one you spoke to when ordering online 133 622) before to Australia.
