It's Here!!!

Just received mine - standard 15" MBP with high-res matte option. I absolutely love it! I'm really happy with the product and watching it through the build ship process was a lot of fun. Best of luck guys. This one is outta here.

MacBook Pro i7 2.66

Unpacked my new MacBook Pro 15" i7 2.66GHz a while ago. Bought it in Hong Kong at Design Group. Standard glossy. It's perfect. Love the screen. I'm upgrading from a 2.4GHz 2008 black MacBook and this thing just fly in comparison :D Been using it for a couple of hours and it's cool, quiet and friggin' fast.

I ordered a CTO 15" 2.4 with Hi-Res Glossy and the 500GBx7200 about a week ago. I added a Magic Mouse to the order, and the mouse came before the MBP! And my 6 year old POS PC doesn't even have Bluetooth, so now I have an amazing looking mouse with no computer to use it on! :(

Sold this one with only 3 weeks of use, lost $300. After buying and canceling 4 MBPs online because of various reasons, I went to my local Apple Store and bought a 17" i7 anti-glare with GOVERNMENT DISCOUNT (Military, State and Local Government workers) and saved $250; $25 cheaper than the student discount if bought online and IMMEDIATE possession. I thought the student discount was the best discount, but the government discount is the same and slightly better at a real Apple Store.

Call your Apple Store and find out if you qualify for many of their other discounts which are at the same as the students discount.

The only disappointing thing is that I don't think my battery life will ever get close to the supposed 8 hours Apple claims.

Yeah, where do they get their data? I mean the computer is great, but 8 hours.....?? Of what, showing the desktop pattern at one level of brightness on the screen and no wifi?

2.66 15" i7 mbp with high res screen (no anti-glare)

As soon as I got it, turned it on and started downloaded everything I wanted, surfing the web and basically using it as much as I would normally use it for.

It started with 79% battery when I started it. And it lasted a good solid four hours before I finally closed it up and went to bed. The next day I continued to surf the web for another two hours... before finally it reached under 10% and I decided I was satisfied and charged it.

6 hours without recharging.... it's not the 8-9 that Apple claims... but DANG! I'm satisfied with 6 solid hours.

That's awesome considering you started with a battery at 79%. Hopefully with 100% charged battery you will see 1-2hrs more use!

Just ordered a 15 inch Macbook Pro, the 2.66ghz i7 model with hi res glossy screen. I am so pumped, this is my first non-Windows machine so I am looking forward to seeing what the other side is like. I hope this doesn't make me start wearing black rim glasses while drinking Starbucks so I don't start hating myself.

Delivery estimate is May 3-7, which is great since that is finals week so it is like a nice present to myself for finishing undergrad work and I'll have all summer to learn my way around OSX before starting grad school

I went to Apple store earlier today and picked up a new 15" i7 hi-res anti-glare MBP. I wanted a hi-res glossy screen, 8GB of RAM, and 500GB HDD @ 7200rpm; however, none of these options were available at the store. But I'm still pretty happy with my purchase considering I only paid US $2,134.00. Not bad, eh?

Lots of students on this board. That's what I paid too.

That price actually included my 10% discount plus no sales tax. That's why I couldn't resist to pass up on a good deal :p

Discounts are wonderful :p

My order is finally Prepared for Shipment -- 9 days from my order date (Apr 16th)! For reference it's a Core i7 15" MBP with the antiglare display.

Right on!

I was going to order mine online too but I'll be deploying within the next couple of weeks so I just picked up a MBP at the local store. My concern was if I order it online, it might get here after I leave

Received My New MacBook Pro

I received my new CTO MacBook Pro last Tuesday. I'm really pleased with it's performance. A 15" i7 8 megs and the new 512 ssd. It will be used for photo work with photoshop, photomatix and lightroom mainly. So far it works Great.
The first thing I noticed is how fast photoshop opened. Looking forward in using it. Thanks Steve! Conrad Rowe, Wildlife Photographer:apple:

I cancelled my online order.
Found out the local apple store had 15" i7 with matte screen.
Stopped and got an Hitachi 7200 RPM drive.
Got it now, with a more reliable drive for just a little more than if I waited.

Loving my anti glare screen!

Amen, brotha.

Same exact story here! I got my MBP last week, and I am in LOVE with it. I got the 15" Hi-Res i7 model, and although it pretty much drained me financially, I'm glad I converted to the Mac side. I had been a PC person for 21 years, but no more. I had too many fail me... Now, as I finish my undergrad and start my internship, I am officially a Mac guy :)

I already have my Dharma decal around the Apple logo and I named my MBP Desmond!

please welcome me :)

Last night I bought my very first MBP 13''. In one sentence: I Love it!!!, I'm looking for a good protector case, not sure if I should go with speck or incase and also something for the keyboard and trackpad. I'm a noob when it comes to macs so I hope I can use this forum to learn more about this great systems.
