my first post!

i bought my 13" 3 days ago, and it is brilliant.
my first mac, it hit me how much efficiency (and basically everything else) ive missed out on by using windows all this time.

i didnt upgrade anything, but just out of curiosity - is using a 128gb ssd over a 320gb normal hdd way better/faster to justify its costs?

thanks!

Yesterday I ordered my 17" i7 MBP with 8gb ram and a 7200rpm 500gb harddisk. With a matte display.
So now the waiting game begins once again. My baby should be ready for shipping in 7 business days. Delivery is expected to be May 10th or 11th.

Hey - I'm in BC. I ordered mine on April 19th and it's still stuck in Mount Hope ON as of today (April 28). UPS has since removed the expected delivery date on the tracking page, which is rather frustrating. I guess all we can do is wait.

I've been lurking since waiting for Arrandale... but this wait is even worse!
Ordered the 17th but still no news! :( Why did I add iWork family pack... WHY!?!

I am in the same boat. I have to believe that the delays are a factor of increased demand and reported arrandale shortages. Interestingly, apple has not charged my credit card yet. Do they charge it when the laptop ships?

They charged mine last night, but still no change to "prepared for shipping".

For all you people who bought 15' 2.66 GHz i7. Watch your system's temps, battery life and cpu activity closely for a few hours. I have had mine for a week and though I love my i7 for its speed, but i am not impressed by the amount of heat it produces, nor the battery life i get off my system after normal use:rolleyes:

That's
when it will leave the factory; the estimated delivery date is when you should expect to actually get it.

Mine is about 45ºC right now; it's been on all night.

The Core i5 and Core i7 use the same wattage so heat won't be much of a concern nor battery life. I also see you created another thread 'i7 processor, maybe a mistake?' this doesn't mean everyone who gets the i7 will face heat issues. Could just be your notebook? Perhaps its defective? I'd contact AppleCare if it really THAT bad.
