Have you tried the Mac version of Quicken. We use it at home on my 24" iMac and are (kind of) happy with it. I wish it would sort while reconciling.
Quicken for Mac lacks many features that are available only in Quicken for Windows. I have linked to the Amazon page for Quicken for Mac. Note that the average Amazon customer review gave it a score of only about 2 out of 4 Stars and the most prevalent vote was 1 out of 4 Stars. I was a beta tester for the Web based version of Quicken some years ago but it wasn't ready for prime time, either. The dreary truth is that only Quicken for Windows has the horsepower to do everything I need to do in the way I want to do it.

Well know I am pretty upset. UPS first stated that my MBP would be delivered by July 14, but then gave an updated date of July 9 (Today). Well since yesterday morning, my deliver date has dissapeared, and so far it hasnt delivered like it said it would. I called UPS to see what was going on, and I was informed that it would be delivered on July 15 (THURSDAY!)

WTF! It was hard enough waiting 3 days, now I have to wait another week? Plus this is further than the original date of July 14!

Any chances it will come sooner? I live in Canada and I was informed that it would be imported to Canada on the 12. Hopefully it wont take another 3 days just to ship within the country...

Just replaced my 2 year old 13" macbook with a new 15" macbook pro 2.5ghz with 8GB RAM. Love the machine. Very impressed. I loved my original 13" and am equally happy with the new ones.

Good stuff.

Bought it and now

Okay so after 2-3 weeks of researching, debating if I should buy a macbook pro, well, Today I finally went to my local Apple store and picked up a MBP i5 15" with a 32gb ipod, Apple care, iWork 09, and one to one subscription. This is my first mac and now Im starring at the box if I should open or not. Im so tempted but Idk whats holding me back.

I stared at mine for 2 hours straight and read every little thing on the box before opening it LOL...I know crazyyy

My late 2006 black MacBook started acting up again. It's been a great machine all these years, but it's really time for something new. Just ordered a MacBook Pro i5 2.4 with a HR Antiglare screen along with a 'free' iPod Touch. Now the wait begins :)

I've been using my i7 15" AG/HighRes (from the refurb store) now for a few hours a night since I got it. Today is the first day I've been able to really sit back and use it.

The laptop gets warm but doesnt burn me like my prior laptop did. I'm using Chrome now and I like it more than safari. I'm using the "Air Mouse" application to make my 3GS into a touchscreen mouse. Now I don't need to buy a IR remote!

I'm still getting use to how apple does things. So far I'm pleased, I've been using windows since DOS/3.1 days and couldn't find any Windows based laptop that felt like it was well built and had a better battery than the MBP. I'd always use the Macs in stores and just got hooked on them.

I got my Macbook Pro 13" yesterday and it's perfect. I love how fast and easy it was to set up. This sure does beat Windows OS. I think I'm sold on Mac OS for life. :p

Where's the screen / keyboard cloth?

I am thinking now that one doesn't come with the computer although they have some thin foam (?) material in between the keyboard and screen when I took it out of the box.

I have seen other peoples' MacBooks - earlier versions - where they had a black cloth that looked like they completely covered the screen when they were going to close the laptop.

I did get a black cloth but it looks like it is for screen cleaning as it isn't big enough to cover the whole size of the screen/keyboard.

This is my first MacBookPro (or any MacBook) and I am just inquiring to see if anyone thinks I should be protecting my Mac when I close it down each time.

Thanks

MacBookPro 15"
G4 Sawtooth
PowerBook 145B - yes this is old ha ha

I finally did it!!! I placed an order on Macbook Pro i5 15" (base model) with anti-glare screen and ipod touch 8gb and printer through education promotion.

Plan to upgrade the RAM up to 8GB soon and hopefully, from the stock HDD to SSD. :D

Now....I am waiting by the door. LOL

Congrats!

Congrats! You will love your new computer. I just got my Macbook Pro 13" 2.66 GHz on Friday and I LOVE it. It's the best computer purchase I have made to date. You won't regret it. I recommend getting the Apple Care Protection Plan if you have not. You get an education discount on the Apple Care. I purchased it for the peace of mind for the next 3 years. Anyways, enjoy! :D

You get the same 3 years warranty with education purchases as you do with Apple Care - the only extra benefit of getting Apple Care on an edu purchase is 3 years telephone cover instead of 1.

That all depends on what you need and how much money you have. If you're rich, get a big SSD, if you need a bit more speed and don't mind spending a little more, get this, otherwise stick with what the MBP ships with (I got the 7200 upgrade when purchased). Here is a guide from ExtremeTech.

MacBook Pro, i7, High Res Anti-Glare, 4GB RAM, 500 GB @7200

I received my MacBook Pro last week. I had some time to play with it over the weekend. Great machine. This is my first Mac and I'm hooked.

MacBook Pro, i7, High Resolution Anti-Glare, 4GB RAM, 500 GB @7200

Now... I need to figure out how to edit HD home videos on it. (AVCHD, .mts)

Just ordered my first Mac on Saturday! A 15 inch MacBook Pro. Already prepared for shipment, hopefully itll ship soon!

I gladly gave my HP laptop to my fiance, she now has a new toy. :D

I can not wait to stop using my POS laptop. I cant use it on my lap since it burns, battery life is like 40 min, and it is SOOO slow!

Only 3 more days till my MBP arrives :D

*Crosses fingers in hope for an early delivery*
