Yea same here! Mine is scheduled to be delivered between the 14-20. Hoping it'll get here before the weekend!!

Where do you live and who is it shipping with?

I live in western Canada, and UPS said I would have it on last friday. Ya, that didnt happen. They now claim it will be here on thursday which is a week late :(

I can not wait to stop using my POS laptop. I cant use it on my lap since it burns, battery life is like 40 min, and it is SOOO slow!

Only 3 more days till my MBP arrives :D

*Crosses fingers in hope for an early delivery*

I live in Illinois. And I'm not sure who the carrier is, still prepared for shipment. But I'm assuming it'll be fedex.

first macbook pro ever ordered today!!! pc sealed its own fate...2nd pc where screen just goes out..stupid hp design, inverter, and back light..never again

i paid extra for 2-3 day shipping....how long does a BTO take? i only got Res upgrade so im thinking not long...2-3 day shipping has to mean after its built right?

im in NJ...anyone in the area have any feedback on your shipping experiences?

Your computer should be ready within 2 business days. Im guessing you will get it next Monday.

Just ordered my first Mac ever. Switching from a thinkpad. 15" base model with hi-res/anti-glare upgrade.

Happy about:
-Shift to OSX, now I will officially be using Windows, Linux, and OSX machines on a daily basis
-Great battery life
-Awesome screen
-Awesome trackpad

Sad about:
-Wanted smaller computer but 13" MBP didnt have the specs I needed (namely screen real-estate)
-5400RPM HD standard, why??
-Need to carry around a dongle to connect to VGA projectors (I tend to lose these things)
-Price could always be lower :p

thanks......so with free shipping it usually takes more then a week? just curious

Well the free shipping should take 3-5 days like you said. Is your MacBook Pro custom configured? If it is, it wont leave China until 2-3 days. But if it is a stock one, you wont need to wait that extra 2-3 days.

So my guess:

-Order goes through today
-Wednesday is will it will ship
-3-5 business days for it to actually ship shoul give you a date between Friday-Weds

Thats based on my past references. Although, if it is stock, my guess is you would have it before the weekend.

I would have paid the extra $50 and go with the 7200 RPM if 5400 RPM is not wanted. Whats another $50 when your spending over $1500:p

Hey, I'm in NJ too and ordered my 15" MBP on the 9th(this passed friday) with the hi-res gloss screen and 7200rpm 500 GB HDD. I didn't pay for the quick shipping but it says it shipped from china on the 11th around 1130pm and still says the same thing. No updates. Supposed to be delivered this thursday. Been a long few days waiting.

Just ordered my first mac! 13" MBP, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD.

Can't wait for it to arrive. According to my 'track order' page it says it will be over 2 weeks. I've contacted apple about this and I'm waiting for confirmation. Seems like a long time. Not sure I can wait that long!

Saying that, I've been putting off ordering one for the past year due to the initial cost! 2 weeks won't kill me...

Nice one.

Apple tracking usually shows a later date when you book. You will get it early, or at least in my experience... wayyyy before they initially quote you. Best is to track your package via logging into the apple.com/us website as that is most updated (even if your outwith the US).

I'll save my $50 and put it towards an SSD in a couple months if I feel the need...

BTW, I ordered yesterday around noon (EST) and the iPod and printer shipped same day and the iPod will be delivered today, printer tomorrow. MBP still not ready yet though.

well then. UPS said my MBP will deliver on thursday, but it arrived in my city last night. it is noon now, and it still doesnt say out for delivery. I really hope they deliver it today, I dont see why they wouldnt...

edit: looks like the UPS site was wrong, my MBP just arrived!!! =D

Good for you! My experience has been that if the UPS tracking info doesn't show that a shipment is out for delivery, it won't be delivered that day. For once, UPS made a mistake that helped, not hurt.

Just ordered my First mac!

I am a long time microsoft user converted to mac from friends in college and i cant wait for it to come in. I ordered the base 13inch do to finance limitations on my end :)

cant wait supose to come in by next monday at the latest!

i thought about an SSD drive too actually.
What's it going in and how does it improve battery life?

15" MBP I ordered (few posts back). Won't improve battery life much over a 5400 RPM. More interested in the large boost in responsiveness.

BTW my MBP is "prepared for shipment". Perhaps it will ship later today or tomorrow then? If its shipping from China I guess I'll get it next week...

MBP 13" arrived!

My MBP 13 arrived today via UPS. I had ordered the 2.4 with hdd bumped to 320gb. It was scheduled to arrive on 21/22 but yesterday was listed as having been sent out for delivery and sure enough it arrived today. Really love it, used an ipod touch for a while and I am finally finished with microsoft. Especially surprised by the screen; plan was to plug in my 24" monitor when at home but felt no need so far - feels no smaller really than my 15" dell (which is widescreen).

Just one thing though - I opened up itunes and then it popped up saying it had found a new version of itunes to download and an app called software update is doing it... yet it has found tons of other stuff, downloading imovie update, java update, OS X update etc... is this normal? Feels strange to have to update a load of stuff five hours after I start? The download is 1gb in total - anyone else had this?

im going crazy everytime my phone vibrates thinking its going to be the ship email!!! the worst is the "Thanks For Purchasing..." emails Im getting!!! I see Apple as sender and get over excited ha

Seems perfectly normal. If the computer has been sitting in stock for a few months. They have released updates since then so you are getting hit with all the updates at once. Should be the desired behavior. I dunno why it happened 5 hours later, probably just happened to be when it pinged the update server. I know windows normally checks within 20-30min of booting up.

just got the shipped email!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i paid for 2-3 day shipping...i know FedEx delivers saturday but they are showing delivery estimate for monday...im assuming because i checked off delivery address is a business...is there any way to call them and ask them to have it delivered my house instead on saturday if its in the area? or maybe ask them to deliver to the business sat because ill be there? ooooorrr will i be able pick it up at my local fedex on sat???

ha can u tell im anxious

Ordered my first mbp on the 11th... It's shipping tells me it's now currently in my state near where I live... Will I get it before the weekend?! Cuz the tracking says it will arrive the 20th. But there's a possibility of it coming days sooner right? :D so giddy!!!

Ok cool thanks, sounds logical. All ok now anyway. Stuff like mail, calendar, iphoto while not exciting to most make it such a pleasure to use. How on earth did windows become so dominant; in comparison os x is in another league.

Well, i'm a new macbook pro owner, sort of against my will! haha.
I had the following:

- Original 13.3" Macbook Intel Core Duo 2.0ghz
- 2 gig ram
- 320gig hard drive
- case was cracked from me dropping it
- dvd drive was busted from me dropping it

Ran with the cracks/busted drive for a while, but it finally went t*ts up on me a couple of days ago. Upgraded to:

- 2010 15" Macbook Pro 2.4ghz i5
- 4gig ram
- 320gig hard drive (that will be replaced with the momentus xt 500gb)
- Hi-Res Glossy screen (what can i say, i'm a fan of the glossy!)

Wanted to keep my other laptop until usb 3.0 came out, but it didn't last that long unfortunatley.

Wonder if i'll notice the speed increase? Ha
