Well Fedex shows my estimated delivery date to be Tuesday July 20th. But, I am hoping that is not accurate, because as of today, my laptop is in Indianapolis and I live in Illinois. So hopefully it will be here tomorrow or Saturday!

Placed an order on the 11th of July and was scheduled to deliver on the 20th. However, the macbook 15" with AG screen just arrived today unexpectedly, all the way from China. WOW!!! Not to mention, I only opt for free standard shipping.

After going via this macbook....one word to describe, "AWESOME!!"

Now, I am waiting for my Crucial 8G memory RAM to arrive to upgrade :D Plan to upgrade the HD into SSD.

is everyones taking long to ship because they are new?? I bought a refurb on the apple website after work on thursday, and it showed up at my door that saturday with my new printer too. I live in Richmond, VA and i think it was shipped from PA.

btw, its my first laptop/mac and im loving it. I was gonna build a nice PC but I finally decided to I didnt wanna be stuck in one room all the time on my computer. I applied for the barclaycard and got 12months no interest. Figured I can pay ~$120/mo and have it paid off before a year.

I got 13in MBP 2.4c2d. I didnt wanna drop 1500 on a refurb 15. But I made sure I got the 320graphics card though. Im loving it, although its gonna take some time to get used to it

i ordered a custom i7 HR from apple. and it's coming from china :( ordered the 11th and this morning it's in a city a few miles away from my town. i'm hoping that it'll be shipped to my local Fedex by today and then see Out for Delivery by tmrw... FedEx delivery date says the 20th though... poo

I am located in CA. I did not expect it would arrive today because according to the tracking, it arrived at Arkansas from China last night. Also, again, I opt for free shipping.

I am sure you will get yours very soon. :)

Just Amazing!

Making my first post with my brand new MBP just delivered today! 15" 2.66 GHz I7, 500GB HDD(7200rpm) 4 GB RAM and hi res Gloss display. My first mac(although I'm on one at work every day). It's super fast and quiet. I'm using it mainly for some pretty intensive audio production so I'm excited to see how it holds up. I'm sure it will blow my old PC away. I will be using it for my every day computing as well. The fonts on some websites and apps are a little small on the hi res screen but I'm sure I will get used to it. Overall, I couldn't be happier!

I know there are a whole lot of threads for this, but anybody got any cool must have apps I should check out? Also, I think I read somewhere on some thread that there was a way to enable or disable the graphic card switching. I can't seem to find it. Does it come enabled or disabled out of the box?

Other that that, I am so happy with my MBP and can't wait to get everything installed so I can start really enjoying it!

what the heck does this mean?

i checked my tracking today and look what i found...

Jul 16, 2010 7:43 AM

Jul 16, 2010 8:34 AM

that's exactly what it says chronologically. i already had a status saying "Int'l shipment release" from Anchorage 2 days before. is this just an error in the FedEx tracking system or what?

Same exact thing happened to me too. But, my MBP just came a couple of hours ago so were all good!

I ordered mine on the 12th, don't expect it to come until Monday though. Says expected delivery on the 20th on the Fedex tracking page.

Thats what mine is showing right now...

Ordered my X-25 80GB SSD off of eBay though so it won't be here for another week...

I think I'm holding off on the upgrade to 8GB ram for a bit...heard ram prices are about to plummet.

Just ordered:

17" MBP, 2.66Ghz i7, 4GB SDRAM, 500GB (5400rpm).

Very nervous. Haven't spent this much money on anything in a long time and this was kind of a spur of the moment decision this morning. It's pretty much the configuration I planned on buying (might have upgraded to 7200rpm drive), but I found it in the refurbished store for a savings of about $400! Looking forward to it!

My new MBP is expected to arrive next Friday (23 July) - 17" i7, 8 gigs of ram, 7200 hard drive ...

I've been really excited, BUT, I am now reading of USB 3 being introduced and I would assume that it would be incorporated in the next MBP refresh ... I'm now seriously considering sending the MBP back when it arrives, and waiting (yet again!) for the next refresh.

USB 3 will be very important ... what do you reckon?

You cant keep waiting for the next best thing to be implemented into the new MBP, youll never have one if you just keep waiting for the next best thing!

usb 3 IS nice... but rather then the next gen mac pro which'll probably have it i say buy the next generation after that.

the only thing i can recommend is get rid of the 4gig extra ram and instead put in a SSD into the mbp. truly it deserves that rather than the ram.

I have the exact configuration that you've ordered. It's fast, quiet & cool. I highly suggest you stop reading about upcoming models, & stop second guessing yourself. You've selected a great MBP which you will enjoy for a long time... :)

Hey buddy, thanks for that!!

When did you get it?

I am currently using my first Mac which is the 8800GS 24" iMac (had for a couple of years or so now) but I really like the idea of having something portable.

Hope you're enjoying your MBP (sounds like you are!).

Just bought my first Mac yesterday :)
It's a 2.4ghz Macbook Pro (stock) and I got it from the Apple Store.
It was my first computer purchase in store, and probably my last. :p
I miss the feeling of being able to order in 5 minutes rather than have the genius explain everything single thing to you.

Well, I love it. It's fast, cool (doesn't get hot), and nice.

I got my new 17" i5 on Thursday from ebay for a bargain price brand new and sealed, loving the high res screen again.

I got mine (after doing the same second guessing ... :)) two months ago.

It's fantastic! And this is coming from a guy that's had lots of laptops. Personally I think you're really going to be surprised just how nice your new MacBook Pro is. Especially after you've had it long enough to become accustomed to it.

Enjoy ... :)

I'm also enjoying the new (to 15" mbp) hi-res anti-glare display. It's what I've been using for years on my ThinkPads.

It's so nice that Apple _finally_ offers it.

I really enjoy having both the 15 & 17 inch models.
