Just picked up the base 13" model at the flagship SF Apple Store today! :D Finally, I join the Intel Mac world. :p

My new i5 15" arrived today (replacement for a 2007 SR that had many problems). Look to be a good one, no dead pixels, dings, yellow screen or graphics problems. I'm really pleased. :)

Ordered on Sunday, should arrive on Friday (pretty fast for standard shipping!). MBP 17" HR Antiglare WS Display, 2.66GHz Intel Core i7, 8GB DDR3 SDRM, 128GB Solid State Drive-- and the 160 GB Ipod Classic with the education discount/free Ipod deal.

This will be my first Mac-- hopefully the learning curve isn't too steep. I'm really excited about it, especially after using a POS HP laptop for the past 3 years (damn thing turns off randomly, can't go on standyby [sleep], and I've had the motherboard replaced twice under warranty). Friday can't come soon enough!

I've been on mac desktops for the last 8-10 years, but I've finally gotten my first macbook pro. God it feels good to be mobile. I got a MBP 15" with a 2.66 GHz Intel i7 and 8gbs of RAM. This is one smooth machine.

I thought I'd christen my new MacRumors account with this post. I had an old account that I hardly used but I couldn't remember what it was, so why not start anew!

Anyways, I'll be around

Why I love apple Refurbs!

Just received my i7 15incher!

The high res Anti-glare look great! The coolest part... I ordered with the normal 4 gigs of ram but it came with 8! How cool is that!? That just saved me a bundle, which will now go to grabbing an Intel SSD!

Got my 17" i7 w/anti-glare just hours ago. The unfortunate thing is that I work third shift and I'm supposed to be sleeping so that I can go to work tonight. How could I sleep with this new toy here? It's like Christmas, but more infrequent. Got all my data from the previous computer (13" 2007 MacBook) transferred, and now I'm installing CS5 (which also arrived today). About 1.2Gb of software updates after that and I'll be ready to go. Only 6 cycles on a refurbished model. Can't complain about that.

8GB!! Your so lucky!!!

Yeah I couldn't believe it! I ran through all the other specs to make sure they didn't skimp anywhere else but nope, everything else is as ordered. Now if I ever order a refurb mac again I'll be spoiled by this good luck. :D

My first ever Mac was delivered today. 15" MacBook Pro, base base. I love it. I can definitely say that I will not be buying a PC again. I came from a dell studio 1555 with a T6600 C2D. This mac is screaming compared to that. I'll be adopting a SSD in the near future to beef it up.

Ah got mine today but scared to open it! The Speck case I ordered doesn't come for another few days and my sister is visiting with her dog, which is running around the house. Tends to claw at shiny things. The thinkpad
I'm working on has a big scratch on the bottom when the dog got to it a year ago :p ...even though the thinkpad isn't shiny...imagine what it will do to something shiny!

"I also re-read the configuration of my MBP about 15 times to make sure I didn't make a mistake - and I am still nervous I did. Haha."

HaHa ... I know exactly what you mean about reading the config like 15 times to make sure you made the right decision! And that RUSH when you hit the button!

My 17" i7 with 8 gigs of ram & 7200 hard drive arrived yesterday. It's all boxed, with a 64gig touch, while I decide if I wanna keep it! Kind of an impulse buy, and my iMac (24" 3.06 8800GS) is running fine so I really don't know ...

Anyway, I hope everyone is enjoy their new additions to the family!

Just ordered a base 13" mbp along with a 64 gb ipod touch because of the back to school sale:). But the shipping says it is coming from Nashville, TN, is this normal for a base model? I'm not really complaining if it makes it get here faster!

I ordered the 15" 2.53ghz model last Friday, but I think it got delayed because of a problem with the credit card I used (debit card that won't let you use more than a certain amt each day, even if the $$ is there). So... it looks like it shipped on Monday, and since then I have been driving myself crazy refreshing the FedEx tracking page! How long does it usually take to get out of China, anyone know?

The estimated ship date was right on for me, even though the day before it came the tracking said it was still in Anchorage, AK.

Just picked up the base 13" MBP on Sunday. Apple store was packed! Walked up to the first person I saw and said I wanted MBP and iPod Classic, Education purchase. In less that three minutes I was helped. In less than ten I was walking out the door with receipt in hand.

That being said, I still find it awesome how quickly it first starts up. Took maybe five minutes or less to fill in information and begin playing. I remember my last few PCs taking 30 minutes to almost an hour!

I am very please to have a brother for my iMac.:apple:

It's been TWO WHOLE DAYS since I ordered my MBP with no shipment notification. Lol.

Upgrading to a 7200 RPM HDD and High-Res screen really adds on a couple days for it to ship huh. Was hoping for a Saturday delivery. :( I even chose the 2-3 day air for another $18.

Yay, mine is in the US now! Haha. Both my MacBook Pro and iPod Nano (education purchase) are now "in transit" from Anchorage, AK. Hoping that means I might actually get my MBP earlier than the scheduled delivery date of next Tuesday.

Yeah mine shipped on day 3 (estimated 1-3 days). See the specs I got in my signature.

I just bought a 15" i7 w/ HR-AG at my local Apple Store. They screwed up and only took $100 off (educational purchase) instead of the proper $200 discount, so I need to fix that tomorrow, but it's really a gorgeous machine.

I wanted a 17" i7 HR, but they only had HR-AG and it was a bit too pricey for me. The 15" is much more portable anyways.

Today I upgraded from my starter Mac, the Macbook. It was just to try out to see how the Mac was, and I've ended staying with Macs, upgrading to the 15" i7. :)

Just bought a used MBP from a Apple retailer, refurbished 15" MBP 4GB 2,53 GHz Core 2 Duo 320 GB HDD.

Wih I have had a Mac before, this is GREAT.
