I just got home and am typing this on my brand new 15" macbook pro.
Didn't see many posts about this model. I got the one with the 9400gm for $1599 student discount.

I'll save you the trouble, though. It's basically the same exact notebook as the last gen unibody except for the SD card slot and the longer battery life.

Screen appears exactly the same to me.

how exiciting!
could you tell us the model number (e.g. 00009C84) of the display?

I ordered my 17 inch on Monday and it still says has not shipped.

It says it will ship in 2-4 days with an estimated delivery of 6/17.

Why the hell does it take that long?

The only BTO option I had was the faster 3.06 processor.

9CA3...it's probably an LG screen. Here is the full data that I posted somewhere else for your convenient reference. Is this any different compared to the last gen? Doesn't look like it to me. The glassy coating seems to make the colors pop, and I am on record as stating that the screen is no different than prior gens.

wow, how did you get this detailed data?
maybe so, for the human eye, but the model number is different..
hmm... i've been contemplating switching to the new 15" and getting a free iPod touch but since you say you don't see any difference, i might as well stick to mine.

Two cancelations and some calls, I'm finally "preparing for shipment". Oy, this is painful, it's been like that since this morning! I WANT IT TO SHIP NOW SO I CAN GET IT FRIDAY! >.<

I'd be surprised if you got it by Friday. Mine shipped late yesterday and is saying Tuesday, and I chose 2-3 day shipping.

did they make the hinges a bit tighter? I remember some people complaining about the hinges on the 15" uMBPs being too loose, unlike the 13" uMB or 17" uMBP.

Toronto MBP 13"s Have Arrived

Just got home with one from the Yorkdale Apple Store.

Me likes!!!! Pictures soon. I plan of doing some really cool close ups of the screen and new features. Plus, my HD and memory upgrade.

I will get my Canon 50D to work soon. See ya here!

Good man, and props to all the other pic posters.

Yeah, but I live in an area where lots of stuff gets shipped to, so I get stuff in a day or two when I choose 3-5 day shipping. Says I'm getting it Friday or Monday...

oh, and it STILL HASN'T SHIPPED YET! Oy...

Well good luck! I'm a little disappointed they shipped mine out yesterday and I got 2-3 day shipping and it still won't be here until Monday or Tuesday.

At least I can drink away my MBP-free pain Friday and Saturday...

I ordered the laptop in my sig after the keynote on monday. It shipped out yesterday from china and is expected to get here monday morning.

Ok so I'm starting college in about 2 months (yeah!) and I will have enough money left over after tuition, classes, books, and expenses are paid, to get a macbook (and a car wewt!).

I was eyeballing the 13" for a LONG TIME...TILL TODAY!

2 hours ago I logged on the Macbook site and nearly crapped my pants!

Im going to get the 15" 2.66 model! I cant BELIEVE THEY DROPPED THE PRICE AND UPPED THE VALUE!
