Looks like my 13in 2.26ghz MBP shipped along with my 8GB iPod touch and HP C4580, should be here on the 13th according to FedEx (Apple's email said the 12th). Just have to order my 4GB of RAM and WD 320GB Scorpio Black.

Now the problem is my debit card only has a $1,500 daily spending limit and I had it upped for today as it was $1,532 yet Apple has still not charged my card, how long does it normally take Apple to charge the card or should I be fine since it went through even though my funds didn't get taken out yet (I know I should probably just ask my bank).

lol! Sorry for laughing. That sucks, but it's kinda funny at the same time. Sounds like a good time to ask for the manager.

Ha, no worries. I was a little heated at first, but then I thought of that scene and laughed about it. Yeah, I probably should have but it turned out to be a good thing because now I changed my mind about getting the 2.53 model and will get the 2.26 GHz model and upgrade the HDD and RAM myself & save some $$$.

You're a good sport about it. That is ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. Why can't you just buy something and just leave? It's an easy sale for them. Sometimes people are overtrained. My guy was a total tool as well.

Exactly, you would think they would be happy that I wanted to get in & out with how busy the stores are. There was a specialist helping a customer near me and the customer just kept rambling about the dumbest ish and asking the same questions over and over, but not even technical questions. "So you used to have this in black but now only white? It used to cost $1200? Now you have white and alluminum? These still sell well? I hate my PC. I used to have a Mac"

shipped! :D

13" MBP base model, customization: 500 gig HD, 4GB RAM, VGA adapter

Ordered 6/9, Shipped today from Shanghai, estimated delivery to Virginia, USA 6/16 (tuesday). Yes I paid for 2-3 day shipping, but 2-3 days means 2-3 business days, darnit, so I have to wait over the weekend. Maybe if I'm lucky they'll use this weekend to make it go farther and get closer to me for delivery on monday. In the long run 2 days to build a custom product that everyone seems to be ordering right now isn't bad.

had it shipped to my dad's business too so I could be sure it would be delivered earlier in the day (but I still have to wait till I get off work) and I would be absolutely sure someone could sign for it.

Question: does 1 (or 3) year Applecare start from the day you ordered the computer, or when it was shipped, or when it was delivered? Or will it tell me my expiration date online?

MBP 13" 2.53 Rave

Sorry, if this sounds too positive, but I can't hold back: This new MBP 13" is the first computer ever that I'd call perfect!

Having started 1994 with the Colour Classic, followed by PowerBook Lombard, PowerBook Titanium, BlackBook, Unibody 2.4GHZ 13", and having worked on too many PCs other than these, this one beats them all for me, and it's really the first Computer that has all I ever needed or whished for in a computer:

- Making music on the Mac, it has enough speed for Logic Pro (the 2.4GHz unibody was already great for speed in this regard to me)

- For all my interface needs, it has agai Firewire. I like that they included 800 now. SD is also nice to have included.

- For my day out working, it finally finally has enough battery power!

- For my eyes, it finally has the colors and sharpness and viewing angle I like.

I already thought the 2.4GHz unibody MB was great, but this one refines it, and makes it perfect, at least for me.

There's of course room for improvement: Deidicated graphics, Nehalem, USB3, but that's what the future's for :)

It's a joy to work and play with this little wondermachine!!!

cheers, -jboy

PS: I know no Mac, or even more, PC can be perfect, but rest assured, this one IS!!! Well, at least to me ;-)

I've been a Windows guy since DOS 3.0 and linux since Slackware back in '94... Then had an iMac G4 with OSX Panther (I think?) and it was so damn slow. I refused to get into Macs after that experience.

Then about a month ago, decided to build an OSX Hackintosh with some spare parts I had, and fell in love with the OS.

After that it all went downhill, and yesterday went to my local Apple store and got a new 15" 2.66GHz MBP and, seriously, this is the best laptop I've ever owned. Well worth the money. :D

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry Curve: BlackBerry8330/4.5.0.127 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/106)

Looks like Apple hit the right spot for a lot of people.

I'm in a similar boat, 15" 3.06GHz 128GB SSD

Ships June 23, Delivers June 26
I cancelled mine and ordered the default config (the 7200RPM HDD was my only CTO thing). 10 minutes later the status had been updated to "Prepared for shipment - Delivers June 15-17".

Highly recommended... you can put in an SSD later anyway (and for less money). Only problem is, it takes some time before the reservation on your bank account is removed. Last time I cancelled an order from Apple it took a whole week before I got the money "back", so right now there's the price of two MBP 17" "missing" from my account.

Ordered mine Tuesday after finding out the Memphis Apple Store didn't have them in. It shipped yesterday, but it was "picked up" in Memphis. Today, Thursday, it is still Memphis, "arrived at FedEx location." This is very antagonizing for me, seeing as I could drive to Memphis in less than an hour. FedEx says it will be delivered Friday. :(

Yeah, my iPod shipped from east PA and I imagine the Mac will from California or China.

Ha my 13" MBP shipped from east PA and my iPod Touch shipped from China. I am from Pitt. Everytime I order a new mac, if i do not customize it, it arrives next day with just standard shipping! I love it!

Does anyone else notice a difference in the "feel" and look of the body case? My late 2008 macbook pro had a dull silver finish, with a flat feel. The macbook pro 2.8 that I got yesterday has a more silvery look to it, and had a more course feel. It put them side by side, and they do look to be noticably different. I was surprised, as I have not heard anyone mention this.

Just ordered a new non-customized higher-end 13" Macbook pro.

My first mac computer, hopefully I'll love it.

Figured I would chime in.

I once was a 20" Intel iMac user. I now have a Lenovo S10 hackintosh netbook. Sadly, netbooks really are just that. Time for some power for Lightroom work.

Went to Apple store here in NC and picked up a 13" 2.26 2gig 160gig last night. Loving it! Trying to be patient about upgrades. RAM will likely happen very soon.

I love the display but it desperately needs some color calibration. Would love to see a profile posted here til I can find a calibrator.
