so nice to have a new laptop! :D

Yep , thats right. Look into the Case Login sleeves. Your MacBook with SPEC case should fit right in :D

Does Microsoft Office 2007 work on the Macbook Pro 13? If not, Is there any cheap IWork deals?

MS Office 2007 is a MS Windows application so the only way it will work is if you run Windows on your machine. You can but if thats the only motivation to have Windows on your machine it's a poor solution.

iWork retail is only $79 however if you are a good shopper you can find it for less on Ebay. I just checked and found a iWork 09 for $32.99 USD on a Buy it Now auction. You can also find it on Amazon too, right now they've got it for $32.30.

Hi guys,

I'm buying a MBP on Friday. I will be going to the Sheffield, UK store to buy it.

Does anyone know if they accept HE discounts in store?

Thanks,

commerce

Bought my first Mac, a 15" i7 from MacMall on Monday. Arrived yesterday around 2. Screen is standard res, the lg panel. Everything looks good(no yellow tint, dead pixels, no dents, unaligned keys etc). Screen is light years ahead of my Lenovo X301, and prior to that Dell Latitude. The lenovo had a ****** screen, even if it was matter. Lenovo has great build quality but severely subpar screens.

I debated the hi-res screen, but decided to go with standard res because I will be reading alot of 8-10pt legal text for long periods of time. i

I ordered August 6th as well but mine still says Not Yet Shipped.

Has your MBP shipped yet Sneekz? I ordered mine on the 7th (Saturday evening), the order says that it'll ship within 3 business days (today!) and arrive next Tuesday or Wednesday.

My order status currently remains at a very glum "not yet shipped" :(

Nope. Still waiting for it to ship. But because I ordered from the developer store, Apple had to verify my assets and that I am eligible to order from the developer store and that took a day. So mine should ship out by tomorrow but I have zero chance of getting before the end of the week which is a bummer.

Interesting, I ordered mine from the Education store (I'm a teacher), will I be contacted to verify my eligability to purchase with the Edu discount applied??

If so, does anyone know what form of verification they require?

I am looking for a sleeve with a shoulder strap. Particularly am looking for a slim case that I can use by itself (traveling) or in my backpack (school). Would like one that can fit some of my accessories like power cord, headphones, etc.

I've found several options but cannot decide which one since they are similar in price.

1) Case Logic 15.4" - probably too big for my 15" MBP.

2) Sportfolio by MarWare

3) Incase Nylon Sleeve

Well.........its working day 4 now and still no change of status on my order?! No email or phone call from Apple?! Giving them until Midday then I'm getting on the phone to them! :apple:

bought mbp 13" sunday night, spent couple nights studying what i need, on tuesday, installed office2008, handbreak, vlc, smcfancontrol, msn, adium, skype, qq, virtualbox, ccc..., then cloned to a 500gb drive with 3 seperate partitions(OSX, partition for vm file, and a FAT32 partition that will be shared between OSX and win 7). swaped the drive and then installed 64-bit win7 ultimate through virtualbox... im happy with it so far. :D:D:D:D

:)first Mac in my life. 15' MBP i7 500GB@7200&Hi Res order placed 10 mins ago in APPLE AU Online Shop.

My MBP is finally prepared for shipment and I also received an e-mail stating that my order was delayed an won't arrive any earlier than the 17th.

Edit: It shipped. UPS says delivery is expected on the 16th.

I got my 13" base model August 7 with the education discount and it was $1325 after taxes and before an iPod :)
What a relief after using an old PC desktop... >_<

Just pulled the trigger on a new 15" MBP

Here's the options I got:

2.66GHz Intel Core i7
8GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB
128GB Solid State Drive
SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
MacBook Pro 15-inch Hi-Res Antiglare Widescreen Display

Wish SSD's were cheaper. Figured I'd use an external drive if I needed space for non-vital files.

Now the wait begins...

Just bought the 13 inch base MBP around 2 weeks ago. So far I'm loving it, the screen doesn't feel small at all which awesome! Already had some experience with OS X with my Hackintosh, so I knew I'd like the OS. :)

i just got mine about an hour ago and i love it better than my hackintosh witch was a dell inspiron 1525.

I got my new 15" MacBook Pro in the mail today. I ordered it Tuesday, and was surprised how quickly it got here. Two days!

I got the base 15" for college. It replaced a five year old toshiba laptop, and a 3 year old 24" iMac. I have been using it for only a few hours and I am sure I made the right choice. It's the perfect size, and it is definitely fast.

love my new macbook pro

just got my :apple: macbook a few days ago and I have to say that its perfect. I placed it right next to my old dell and the difference is just amazing.

You cant even see the fans or any ugly OS labels. the bottom of my dell laptop is just disgusting compared to my macbook pro.

the macbook pro looks and feels like an awesome piece of art. i guess this is why people love apple so much.. their products are a pleasure to look at and to use. I can imagine myself using my macbook for alot longer than I have used the dell.

also I have used windows my most of my life, and i thought switching to mac os x would be confusing and hard.

my god I was wrong. it was just like using a $50 mp3 player, with alot of buttons and confusing menus then switching over to a, say, 2nd gen ipod nano.

everythings so much more polished, so much more pleasant to look at even though I use both windows and mac os x to do the same stuff. it's simple and intuitive. I used to think the trackpad on my dell was good. the macbook pro's trackpad is more than twice its size, way better and I am spoilt by it. I dont even connect a mouse anymore coz its that good.

one thing that really surprised me was how ridiculously easy it was to uninstall programs. compared to going through a whole heap of menu boxes and clicking 4729410 "next" buttons, I just dragged stuff to the trash can.. nice!

also, internet explorer 7 looks like a joke besides safari. i.. dont think im ever buying a windows laptop again.

I LOVE MY MAC <3 :)
