i've ordered from the reseller, last nov 2. i've followed it up last friday they've said that 2-3 weeks. T_T

Mines from a reseller too, we don't have an Apple store in my town. I ordered the 15" base model, but with the anti-glare screen and they said probably 2 months to order it, have it made, and shipped over here to Australia :(

Love that they're speedy...My custom build said 1-3 days before it would ship, but it was picked up less than 12 hours after the order was placed on Friday. In transit and scheduled to arrive on Wednesday!

Not quite sure how this happened, but scheduled to arrive Wednesday became on my doorstep this morning. Thankfully my neighbor was around to sign for it. I've been like a kid in a candy store. Lots of fun.

Also, I'm an idiot. I must have had a typo when I put in my admin password the first time because I can't put it in right to save myself. No idea what I actually typed. I was VERY glad to find out I can change that easily with the install CD.

Just received my MBP today! This is my first Mac and im loving it so far. Always wanted to try Mac. It's so user friendly.

I ordered 15" MBP 2.53 with HR glossy. =)

Ordered on Oct. 27th, Arrived Nov. 10th exactly 2 weeks.

Luckily no delay from TNT XD.

Got it Yesterday

I got my 2.4GHz i5 MBP in the mail yesterday from Amazon. Can't really beat the deal of $1,710 and no tax and free shipping.

I installed an OWC Mercury Extreme 240GB SSD drive before I ever powered the machine on. The SSD is blazingly quick, it seems even faster than my Apple installed 128GB SSD in my MBA. I highly recommend the OWC drive, plus its very easy to install.

I think the MBP is a beautiful machine and the screen is just gorgeous. Last night I went back and forth between the new MBP and my 1.86GHz MBA. I really still love the size of the MBA and keep debating whether I can get used to the MBP. I am not going to keep both, the MBA will eventually go on eBay if I can get used to the size of the MBP.

After work, went to go pick up my new MBP 13 from the Apple store. I absolutely love it. It's everything I expected and more. So glad to finally own a Mac :)

maiden post to celebrate my first MBP purchase

hi all

I have been lurking around here for past month, especially so before 'Back to Mac' event. I had wanted to purchase an ultra-portable Air (2010) but gradually swayed towards MBP and finally bitten by 17" MBP bug.

I am glad that I manage to get an excellent condition 17" MBP with Applecare till Mar 2012. Hence I still have around 1.5 years of fun with it.

Just chimed in to say "Hi!" to all and whispered about myself finally owning my own MBP and my dream 17", no less :)

P.S. It isn't as heavy as I thought it to be. Time will tell :p

I got my very first Mac this week. I ordered it on Tuesday of last week. It was a custom build so it didn't ship out until Saturday morning, however, it made it all the way to my door by Monday!! I got a 15" Hi-Res AntiGlare, 2.66GHz i7, 4GB RAM, 500GB 7200rpm.

Nice...identical to the one I got this week too, except I went hi-res glossy. Enjoy!

There are thousands of products, could you be a little more specific about what you're after. Also I'd probably repost by creating a new thread on the MacBook Pro forum.

I've had the i5 MacBook Pro for several months already but recently got a 24" HD ViewSonic display to hook up to it and am delighted with the setup. Best of both worlds, like a desktop at home and can take the laptop to work easily. Also the dual screens is a a delight for doing web design/development, I can't imagine using another setup, it is perfect.

I recently did this too and I love it, added a magic mouse and trackpad too, perfect setup imo.

Ordered mine last Saturday (UK) not due for delivery until Nov 24 - something to do with customs taking 10 days! Hope you do better than that.

Ordered mine on the 8th. It's now with the "UK distribution centre". Tracking number doesn't work with TNT or ups :(

Went to a Maclife store yesterday to buy a 15" MBP with upgraded hard drive and the no-glare screen.

They sold two the day earlier and subsequently ordered two after selling them, so its two days after they ordered them, and hopefully it arrives by late monday...

I'm very excited.

Just placed an order for a new 15" i7. With glossy HR screen. So excited!

My early '08 2.4GHz C2D has been aging poorly, trackpad goes out sometimes, screen has some dark spots, I get kernel panics regularly (even after OS reinstall), processor chokes on certain exports. When I have the money I'll be dropping an OWC 240GB SSD inside :D

2.66GHz Intel Core I7
4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRM - 2x2GB
500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200
SuperDrive 8X DL
MBP 15" HR Glossy WS Display

hey guys , im new here . i got a macbook pro 13'' 2.4ghz .

im sorry if this is noobish , but how do i now if i have a hi res screen ?
i bought it at best buy btw

Figured I'd post here and share my joy I'm getting tomorrow! Picking up a 15" i7 with the high res anti-glare option. Found someone on craigslist that has a good deal going and I'm in need of a new computer!

still in transit

Just checked my status and it is "in transit to customer" with a delivery date of Nov 23 so no real change there. No idea why mine should be taking so long but I am a bit 'steamed' that "Ship in 3 business days" actually means "We'll deliver it in 3 weeks" - be interesting to hear how you progress. I'll post as soon as my status changes.
