I just got a new 13" MacBook Pro today to go along with my 27" iMac, I plan to park it in the living room quite a bit attached to my TV, does anyone have any recommendations for a good Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter? I found this one on Amazon, which seems to be a fair price compared to some others. Happy to be part of the MBP club again!

Yikes expensive. Monoprice has similar adapters, but I would suggest this mini-displayport to hdmi cable: http://www.monoprice.com/products/...10246&cs_id=1024603&p_id=5994&seq=1&format=2

I just ordered a new 15" i7 500gb(7200 rpm) hi-res glossy with 4gb RAM to replace my almost 5 year old Intel Core Duo (no 2 in there) MBP. I also ordered a 8GB ram kit from Crucial - I couldn't bring myself to spend an extra $200 for Apple installed RAM and while I know there is a crazy OWC sale going on, I've used Crucial before with good results and the extra $30 to get their RAM seemed worth it.

Pretty excited to have it all come!!

I was not able to pick up my MacBook on Wednesday (FedEx Home Delivery arrived before I did, I was out of town) but it was available to pick up yesterday.

Very happy with my new 15" MBP 2.66 + 500 GB 7200RPM HD and HR glossy display. I have already moved my iTunes files and iPhone backup files from my Dell (just Opened iTunes on the Mac for the initial setup, quit iTunes, copied the two folders in the Dell called "iTunes" and "Backup" using an external drive I have, overwriting the corresponding folders on my Mac, started iTunes on the Mac again and everything was there, including my previous iPhone backup from earlier that day.) I have also loaded Office 2011 (which I purchased on Black Friday)

I will spend the next few days getting used to using the Mac. :D

The Griffin Video Display Converter carries audio.

Saturday, December 18th is the day i shall be hoping ot get my apple MBP 13" 2.4Ghz, brand new MBP from Micro Center! cant wait.. only 5 more days of school and one weekend!

2nd MBP in a couple of weeks

Ordered a MBP 13", 2.66, 8G RAM, 500G a couple of days ago.

It's unfortunately already the second one I've purchased in a very short period because I killed the first one with coffee a week ago... what is the worst thing about this is that I had had it only three weeks :(

Ordered my first MBP on Friday Dec. 3rd, BTO: 15", 2.8GHz, i7, 500GB 7200RPM, 8GB RAM....shipped out on Thursday December 9th...now it's just the waiting game! I ordered 2-3 shipping since I am heading out of town on the 22nd and want to be sure my new baby will arrive on time :)

Lets hope I get her in tomorrow or Wednesday!

(as an aside...2-3 day shipping if something leaves on a Thursday would be it would arrive on Wednesday at the latest?)

:D

Delivered this morning was a 15" MBP i5 2.4Ghz 4Gb RAM and hi-res screen for a desktop replacement.

However, I'll have to wait until I get back from work to try it out.

register the computer?

is it necessary to register the computer with name, address, email etc? and is it something i can do later? if so how? thanks

Got my new MBP this morning: 15" 2.4GHz i5, 4GB memory, with anti-glare screen. I had a glossy screen on my 2006 MB and Apple told me I'd love it. They lied! This is MUCH nicer.

So far, so fantastic ("good" seems inadequate); I'll be sure to post any complaints I have, IF I have any. . . and I may just post when I DON'T have any problems as well, just because no one ever seems to on the web.

I love my 17" 2.66MH HR glossy all my life I used the HR thinkpad antiglare screen but this glossy screen is greater.

refurb arrived

got a 13' MBP on tuesday. refurb. was a little concerned that maybe it may have a little scuff or two, not so bad as to warrant a return, but enough to take edge of y'know?

immaculate.

not a mark anywhere, you would not know unless you saw my discrete unboxing (you don't get a proper box, though the bits are wrapped correctly).

Nice. V.Happy.

(At least until I started learning objective C and xcode what the hell are they doing there? It's 2010 don't give me that alloc ****!)

I've been reading these forums for a long time, and I finally decided to order a Mac of my own for Christmas this year. Here's what I ordered:

MacBook Pro 15"
Intel Core i5 2.4ghz
500GB 5400 RPM HDD
4GB RAM
Hi-Res Glossy Widescreen Display

Our apple store carries some of the Hi-res models, and after I saw them up close I knew that I had to have that option. Unfortunately, they only have the i7 model, which was out of my budget.

Additionally, the 2.53ghz model has an almost unnoticeable performance increase from the 2.4ghz, so I just configured the base model to my liking and saved some money in the process.

I can't remember the last time I was this excited about Christmas presents!

I'm super stoked, just completed my personal triangle of Mac: iPhone, iPad, and now a mbp. Ordered mine from amazon, along with AppleCare.

2.53GHz Intel Core i5
500 GB Hard Drive, 8x DVD/CD SuperDrive, 4GB DDR3 RAM
15.4 inch LED-backlit display, 1440-by-900 resolution
Intel HD Graphics and NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M with automatic graphics switching and 256 MB dedicated graphics memory
Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard Operating System

I plan to use it as a central hub for all family videos and pics. Now the wait begins:eek:

Because my laptop broke down, I decided to look for a macbook ;)

A macbook here in the Netherlands is 999 euro. However there is a nice deal here in one of the shops on the 23rd of December.. a base 13" macbook pro for the same price :) so most likely will pick that up this thursday :) can't wait!

Its a MBP Christmas

I have a new 15 MBP base model to replace my imac for christmas. Loving it so far, and the best part is my sister will get my imac- another convert on the way =D
