I ordered from Club Mac. 15" base model. I'm at work today, and they insisted on calling me at my home number to verify my credit card. I had someone go to my house for me, and they waited there two hours. Club Mac never called, so I called them back. They said they would ship it out today, and it would arrive tomorrow. UGH! What a hassle.

I'm coming from a late 07 MBP and this is the first time I've really used the new trackpad. I don't know how I feel about it. It just feels sticky to me. Maybe it just takes some getting used to.

Just picked up my 15" MBP and this thing is sweet. Never bought a new mac until today. Much faster than my old iBook.

I bought the new 15" MBP on Monday shortly after they were announced. I did make a few changes to it and it ended up shipping on Wednesday morning (Pacific time) from China. It got to a FedEx facility about an hour away last night around 10PM and I got excited that it would be here today, but it hasn't moved since getting there last night. That really blows of FedEx to just leave it sitting there until Monday morning. Would have been nice to have for the weekend.

Apple sent me extra RAM

I ordered the refurbished MBP as soon as the new MBP's were announced. I was short of money to buy ram, after buying the MBP but to my surprise Apple sent me a system with 4 GB ram instead of the 2 GB I had ordered.

uh oh! in my excitement to get my new MBP I forgot to get the free all-in-one after rebate!

I guess it's just a newbie mistake. (oops. yeah, my first mac!)

will check promo's next time! I've got a pretty good all in one anyway so I guess it's okay.

awesome, mine's in Anchorage now. hopefully the person that said FedEx moves stuff within the US really fast is right, I'd love to have it monday.

but wait, it's on Int'l Shipment Release, wonder if that will be a long delay.

I hope it's soon so I can play with my new macbook pro instead of reading and writing posts on this thread in giddy anticipation. lol.

The 8GB iPod Touch actually came today. Originally Fedex's tracking said monday. Sold 8GB iPod touch to friend for $150, sold Canon MP480 on craigslist, $75, wasn't even on craigslist for more than 3 hrs..

Still waiting on the MBP order to change from "Not Yet Shipped". I should have went with 500GB/5400 HDD and bought a 500/7K from newegg. Estimated shipping was 24hrs. Added CPU, 1-3 days, added 500/7k HDD, 5-7 days... argh.

UPDATE: SHIPPED!! Email said June 17th arrival, Fedex tracking page says June 18th.. I want it June 16th. hahahah.

I've never owned an Apple Notebook before, it's fricken gorgeous. It's a piece of art.

Very impressed so far. What a difference switching video cards makes too.

Question; am I okay to always use the 9600M GT, even for day-to-day tasks? It's not going to overheat or anything?

How is best to handle the battery? I'm never far away from a power outlet, so should I plug it in when possible, or let the battery fully discharge before charging?

You can call the online store and have them "add" it to your order so you can get the rebate (Even if your original order has been shipped). Just have to do that before the rebate expires.

Less than 24 hours from shipping to being 30 mins away from me! Unfortunately, I'll still have to wait out the weekend with FedEx to my house, but pretty good since it was scheduled to arrive Wednesday! Early deliveries make me a happy panda.

Bought a 13" MBP base model from one of the local Apple Stores this afternoon - wow! What a really nice laptop. Everything that bugged me on previous models is fixed, it seems. It hardly gets warm, too.

THe new gen MBP's have to be near state of the art notebooks from a packaging/UI perspective. What a solid feeling piece of equipment. And the lighted keyboard is fantastic. I'm in love!

I agree on all points except one... I don't like the new white packaging. Their black boxes were much more elegant and mysterious, these white ones look like pizza cartons. "Here's your MacBook Capricciosa. Splat!"
