The estimated arrival date has been magically bumped to 22nd of march.

If they change it at this rate, it'll be here by Monday. :p

Does anyone know if the Apple tracking status is usually correct?
Mine says "Out for Delivery".
The UPS tracking status says that it's going to be out for delivery
tomorrow.
So what it it going to be....today or tomorrow?

Well mine has just arrived my dad rang me. Great tracking system by Apple and UPS, always said Thursday by the end of day and it came at 12:40. Brilliant service.

Well...as I mentioned in my previous post >>>

Never seen Apple say any day, but maybe that's different for U.S. orders (ours just seem to show whether it's shipped or not, not the status with our carrier)... But I'd tend to go with UPS's quote. They know when their truck will get to you. Apple might guess, and Apple might be right, but I'd bet on UPS's quote.

I'm from Germany.
The weird thing is that the status on the Apple site not only shows the date but also 'out for delivery'.

Oh well... From what I have seen, German orders are really having trouble right now... Won't hurt to call Apple about it and find out :) Have you tried that? They might have some information that is more specific. It certainly wouldn't hurt to call! :)

...German orders are really having trouble right now, getting tied up in some customs situation...

This is the first I've heard that customs has anything to do with the longish delivery times. My current status is Merge In Tnst CZ Pra and my order via the German Apple Store (online) was on the evening of the 24th.

My mistake if that's incorrect :) I have a German friend that was told it was customs related. Being in the U.S. I have no idea. Sorry if that was inaccurate!

I have no idea if the information is accurate or not. But I would find it a wee bit surprising.

CZ Pra is, as far as I know, a reference to Prague in the Czech Republic.

Loving everything about my 13" i7. Sooooooo glad I went for portability in the end--my shoulder is already thanking me for that half-pound shaved off, and I can fit it into all of my bags now! And I don't miss the space for a second; I've got a 22" external set up and it really feels like the perfect workstation! I can't wait to take Logic for a test drive...

Completely overjoyed with my MacBook. Can't believe I used windows for all these years!

Welcome

I just received my 2011 2.3Ghz MBP about ten mins ago. I can't be anymore happier. I got the high resolution glossy screen, man is thing nice! I have an external matte display for when I work with my photography. I got the standard 750GB HDD because I want to wait for when the SSD matures a bit. Hopefully all the kinks will be worked out of the vertex 3 sata3 drives soon!

Just ordered a 13" basic version CTO with a 500GB hard drive. It's replacing a 2007 15" 2.4 GHz Core2Duo MBP. Looking forward to it, but it'll be towards the end of next week before it gets here :(.

I ordered mine yesterday too. I was due for an upgrade. I have the:
15" MBP (Late '08, first unibody)
  • Core 2 Duo @ 2.8 GHz
  • 4gb Ram
  • 320 GB @ 7200 rpm
  • NVIDIA GeForce 9400M/9600M GT
My new MBP will be another 15" MBP
  • Quad-core i7 @ 2.3 GHz
  • 4GB Ram
  • 500GB @ 7200 rpm
  • High-Res Glossy Screen
  • Intel HD Graphics 3000 / AMD Radeon HD 6750M (1GB)

I got the standard shipping and it's showing me Mar 10 - 16 for delivery. I can't wait to try SC2 and all my steam games :D

My ETA is Monday the 14th. I've tracked it and it's at FedEx in Gardena, Ca. Gardena is 10 min away from me so I called hoping FedEx would let me pick it up and not have to wait until Monday. Unfortunately, they are not letting me. :( Looks like I have to wait until Monday.

EDIT: Whoo! Tracking information just changed to "On FedEx vehicle for delivery" :D

I finally bought my first Apple laptop (15'' low end MacBook Pro). During lunch break, I went to Best Buy and bought the MBP and dropped it at home. Currently, I am at work, but I can't wait to get home early today to play with my Mac. I'm so excited!

Just ordered a base 15" MBP with the hi-res antiglare screen. Should be here between Monday and Wednesday.

Just got my...

15" 2.2 with 4GB RAM and 500GB 7200 rpm hdd. Hi-res antiglare. Plus a remote. 25% employee discount and it was still $1950!

Comes in on Wednesday.

It's my first Mac that I've personally owned.
