Hey what's up everybody. Longtime lurker here, finally decided to join the forums after realizing what a great bunch of people you are here. I've had a million questions in regards to the Macbook Pro and the search function + your answers and advice have been awesome help.
Anyways, long story short, the gf bought me a Spring 2010 13" Macbook Pro 2.4 base model for Xmas. Little did I know the 2011 refreshed line was to be released so soon. Being the type of guy I am, always wanting the newest like so many others and after researching which Macbook Pro would best suit my NEED FOR SPEED

(Audio needs -Adobe Audition etc... I'm in the Radio biz) I decided to go for the base 2011 13". The gf was gonna buy a Mac anyways, so I gave her mine and I got the new guy.
After reading so many horror stories about problems people have had with the Mac's after taking them home to have keys popping off, scratches among other things. I decided to go for the quick 20 minute set up. I opened the box and took the Mac out and opened the lid, removed the white cover and BOOM

scratch near the trackpad. Took an even closer look and there were scratches and paint coming off the edges of the right hand side. I was embarassed

to be so picky about things like this, but I value the things I purchase. So, I told the girl about it and she took it back right away to replace it with another one. They were extremely understanding. Got the new box and did the same thing, BOOM

black markings on the edges again, scuff marks here and there... I didn't know what to do at this point. Then the gf tells me, it's just dust and stuff from the black padding thats carried onto the mac. I start to rub them and they all came off... phew

. I even got to the point of trying to wipe off the white led beside the infrared sensor lol... after remembering from the 2010 model that, it's part of the mac
Anyways, just thought I'd share that. Has anyone else experienced things like this? Anyone else as picky about scratches and things?
Is Wrapsol the answer to my worries? I tried to get ghostarmour but I've been waiting for a callback from them for 3 months now.
Oh ya, one other things for the audioheads in here, if you have any tips etc on how to optimize my mac for audio production that would rock.
Later
