The "I just ordered / bought / got my new/refurb MBP" thread [Merged]

The day after

Yesterday I picked up a 17" MBP.

Already on hand was an OWC Data Doubler, WD Scorpio Black 750GB HDD and an OWC 120GB SSD plus 8GB or RAM.

Operation started as soon as I got home, had a quick bite to eat while OSX was installed on to SSD, I then swapped the optical drive with the DD and SSD and placed the HDD with hard drive bay. This machine screams!!!
 
Finally, finally, finally!
Ordered the High End 13 inch Macbook Pro. Even waiting for the confirmation e-mail is painful!
 
Had my MBP 2 days now. This thing is fast without my upgrades! 15", 2.3gb, 4gb, 7,200rpm 500gb hdd. I've got a data doubler in the post, 120gb OWC 6G & 8GB RAM. Sorry to say it but I don't think I need them! Still going to install them but man, this thing is faster than ****** off a shovel!!

Wondering, how long does a confirmation e-mail take? I know its Easter, but i ordered it yesterday morning, and still nothing. I've just sent them an e-mail..
I'm impatient, i want it in the next hour if it could lol, but who knows...

After ordering early monday morning, I got my email 1 or 2 hours later. You may have reason to be concerned. :eek:
 
First mac ever!

I put in an order through Amazon last night for:

Apple MacBook Pro MC700LL/A 13.3-Inch Laptop​

It's going to be a lot of fun as it's my first MacBook ever! :apple:
 
Just ordered mbp 13" i7 and additional 8gb ram modules (4x2 corsair) from amazon. If everything works fine I will recieve the package by 28th April.

New Owner of 13" MBP

Just got mine earlier this week. Took advantage of the sale MicroCenter had for the 2011 13" MBP. It is replacing my 4 year old Lenovo x61 that I have taken with me while I travelled throughout the country.

So far so good. As I get to know the Mac OS, the more i like it. It is the minor things that make using this OS enjoyable.

Ordered 8GB of RAM from New Egg and waiting for that to arrive. As I read more and more on this forum, the more and more I have the urge to spend more money for SSD.

Thanks to those that have fueled my spending habits.
 
Finally retired my trusty old (2007) 15" MBP. Picked up a 13" MBP i5 today. Will be ordering 8GB of RAM, and firewire adapter pronto. I thought I wanted to go with another 15", but the 13" seems to be the perfect size for work and play. Saving a few bucks doesn't hurt, either. :cool:
 
I Just picked up my brand new MBP 15 inch with upgraded 8G ram today. OMG is this thing nice! The 15 inch isn't that much different than my HP laptop that's a 17-inch. I can't believe the huge difference between my MB and this MBP. I bought my MB last August and it was just too slow and clunky for what I was using it for. I almost gave up on Macs and when I finally went into the Apple store today I just couldn't resist this MBP. I am seriously so sold on this baby that I can say that I am leaving windows behind unless I truly need it.:D

I have some applications that I need that only run on windows (parallels) so I will try to use those apps sparingly. Go Mac!:apple:
 
I love the message in the console log when switching to the integrated gfx:

"11-04-29 8:49:03 AM gfxCardStatus[188] Intel HD Graphics 3000 in use. Sweet deal! More battery life."

I just got my 2009 MBP used, new to me! Other than my iPhone this is my first Mac product after 13 years of owning pcs.

2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
upgraded ram to 4mb (667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM)
upgraded HD to 640 gb


The break-in/learning-curve period hasn't been too brutal and I am beginning to really like it.
 
I deleted accidentally (from trash too!) the macbook pro 15' guide in pdf, from my new mbp hard disk.
Any link to download it again?
 
I just ordered the high-end 15" MacBook Pro with the optional high-res glossy display. Finally upgrading from my 2007 MacBook Pro, which has served me well (despite two GPU failures). :p

Estimated delivery on the 13th, although the guy on the phone reckoned it would arrive before then. I'm counting the hours until it arrives... :eek:
 
Getting my first Mac, a 13" Pro 2.3, hopefully tomorrow!

It's 120 miles away in Louisville, TN, as we speak! Projected delivery is by noon day-after-tomorrow... C'mon, FedEx!
 
just got my 17" mbp, anti-glare, 500gb drive, 8gb ram

i *heart* it :)

my poor iMac isn't going to get much use anymore.
 
Just ordered 15" 2.0Ghz MPB with Antiglare.. My first Apple PC.

I got my wife a 13" MBP last year and have enjoyed using it. Decided to get my own.
