Well, I bought a 2.2GHz i7 15" MBP 2 weeks ago at the Apple Store but on Sunday decided to return it for the same MBP but with the High Resolution Matte screen. I now don't have a Mac to use until my MBP replacement arrives. :( I even paid the extra $18 for shipping to hopefully get the laptop asap. I hope it's worth it! lol :)

I just got the same one yesterday with the anti glare screen, you will love it!! :)

just ordered a refurb 2.2ghz 17" macbook pro for just $2119! Can't wait. This will be my first Mac with a discrete graphics card! Of all the macs I've had, 1.83 2007 mac mini, 2.13 2007 macbook, 2.26 2009 13" mbp, 2.4 13" 2010 mbp, 2.66 2009 24" imac, all have had integrated graphics, finally I am not going to compromise and get a mac that I truly want!

originally, i had promised myself to get me an 11.6" macbook air for getting into grad school! Guess I ended up on the other side of the spectrum with the 17"! (my dad gave me an iPad 2 as a surprise gift as well).

and ordered some RAM from amazon, they should all arrive at about the same time. Now just gotta go hunt for a SSD...

Received my refurb 2011 MacBook Pro 13" this morning. It's my first Mac and really glad I bought a refurbished one (base model, other than the 500GB HDD).

My current Windows laptop is a 15" 1280*800 - at the moment the screen feels a little cramped, but re-arranging some apps and it's ok. Amazed at how quick the system is, really impressed!

Would like to have upgraded to an SSD sooner rather than later, but need to upgrade Photoshop etc to get a Mac license.

Well, the CTO 15" 2.2GHz i7 MBP with high resolution Matte screen I ordered this past Sunday will arrive tomorrow. I can't believe how fast it takes to reach NJ from China.

Now that's what I call Fresh off the assembly line. :)

So my MacBook arrived in my city today at 4 PM. Do you think I'll get it tomorrow? The estimated delivery date is actually May 24, so I dunno. But I'd love it before the weekend.

It arrived!

So I finally got my MBP! :D Base 15 inch with high res glossy display and 128GB SSD. My first Mac ever and my got it is beautiful, sometimes I just can't help but be amazed at the sturdy build quality while still being thin and light. Also this things flies!! I have a quad core PC but the MBP is faster because of the SSD. I know people see a lot of threads on the forums that make them not want a Macbook but all they have to do is come here and see how many people are loving their purchase!

Took delivery of my first Mac yesterday :)

MBP 15" i7 2.0GHz 500MB HDD :D

Wow what a learning curve! After originally using Commodore 64's then Amiga's then PC's in the early 90's right up to yesterday !

Got a Speck Case, Magic Mouse and VMWare Fusion - currently migrating over the works laptop

It's a joy to use, I haven't put it down yet since taking delivery yesterday :D

RFB MacBook Pro 13'

Just ordered a refurb MacBook Pro 13' 2.7 i7 ;)

Perfect timing as one week ago they didn't even have any available!

Looking forward to receiving it soon, hope I get nice surprise (extra software or more RAM!)!

bought a 13" MPB from bestbuy

just bought a a mbp from best buy with there 2 yr black tie protection plan. do i need to register anything?

Ordered refurb 15" i5 with AG screen yesterday--- arriving tomorrow with standard shipping  :D

hopefully it will boot!

2011 mbp

Just received my MBP in the mail today!!

I am literally in love with it. I made the usual progression of iPhone (Jan) -> iPad (April) -> MacBook Pro and I don't regret the decision at all.

I am going through a transition in my career right now and I have a feeling this will be my last big purchase for a few years, so I wanted to make it a good one.

Love it! <3

I just ordered a new 17" Macbook Pro to replace my 2007 15" MBP. This should hopefully be a nice little upgrade. As a graphic designer... my current macbook pro has been a little sluggish with CS5 (but runs like a champ with everything else).

It arrives tomorrow... I can't sleep

Just bought a MBP 13" 2011 Refurb

I just bought the 2011 MBP 13" 2.3 i5 and decided to install a OCZ Vertex 3 120gb and 8gb ram.

WOW is all I can say!!

This machine is so fast and responsive with booting and application launching.

I ran geekbench 64bit and it came back 6678. :)

This Sandybridge chip is so fast and I love the silence of the SSD. The only noise is from the fan and it only goes on when heavy processing is required.

This forum has been a great resource for me.

Thanks

JW

That is one nice little machine you have there now. I have the same model for work and it's a nippy little laptop even with a regular HD in it - the SSD must make it fly. An SSD and 8GB is on the roadmap for my 2011 15", just as soon as I've paid the credit card bill for it. :)

I ordered the same thing. Mine came in yesterday.

Too bad I've been too busy to really use it yet.

Nice! I migrated all my crap over and I've been really happy with it. Cosmetically it's perfect. No dreaded freezes yet! I had no idea the Anti-glare screens were this nice. I was expecting a lot more graininess but it's awesome
:)

Delivery exception. If the time on the fed ex track site is accurate then I was at home when the delivery was attempted. Also I didn't get a door tag.:eek::eek::(

ordered a 2.2 refurb 17" last week, it came on Tuesday. The graphics on it turned out to be DOA. Sent it back the next day. The 8GB RAM that I bought for it was also DOA. Yep, I was pissed!

So I got on the phone and tried it again on Wednesday. This time, figured I'd just go all out and order the 2.3 refurb for an extra $220. Tried to call customer service to get a courtesy expedite shipping but it was too late to do it, but as a "we're sorry" gesture, they sent me a free magic mouse. In the end, turns out they quietly expedited it anyways, got it today! Turned it on, got ready to install the new 8GB RAM kit I bought at Fry's, and what do you know? It came with 8 Gigs of RAM! Hallelujah!

Now I can somewhat justify the cost of that 256GB SSD I bought.

let's see, if I had bought a 15" 2.3 with hi-res glossy, it'd cost me $2314 with my student discount. The 17" refurb 2.3 I bought costed $2339. Bigger screen for just $25, well worth it! And not to mention, the free RAM upgrade!

A few days ago I bought the 15" base model at Best Buy and it had a screen problem. The problem was that the middle of the top gray was bright while both sides were darker. I tried a solid color background and still got the same issue. It does not matter if I have the menu bar transparent or not. Anyway I exchanged it for the 13" base model, because the store was out of stock of the entry level 15" model. The 13" base model is still a solid computer and I'm not disappointed with it.

Got mine yesterday! Here it is (LOVE IT!)
