I just pressed go on a 15" 2.0GHz MBP.

A little too much power, but I won't be able to get a new computer for another 4 or 5 years, so hopefully I made the right choice in purchasing a little more.

Ordered my base 13" mbp yesterday. Picked up 8 gigs on amazon and thinking of the 120gig vertex 3 ssd too!

Big Problem!!

My new MBP 13 inch. I put 8GB of RAM in and a Samsung 470 SSD. It now leaves rubber on the dining room table!!

Ooo, that smell

Quadcore yumminess. There aren't a lot of things that smell this good:

One smell beats both of those two, and if you don't know what that is then I feel really sorry for you :)

The fourth unboxing of the day does NOT smell as nice.

Apparently my local Best Buy got a whole batch of MBPs that had 2 gig of ram when they should have had 4.

The first one you unbox yourself, the second you exchange and do the same, the third you make THEM unbox it, the fourth you make them do it again and finally take it home.

Purchased a MBP

Just ordered my Macbook Pro 13 inch i5 model from an online retailer in Japan.
got it for a bargain at 87840 yen! around 1001 us dollars.

this is my first mac product. very excited to work with!

Just bought my first Macbook Pro, an Early 2011 base 13" with a 500Gb HDD.

I've used OSX a little before and have owned a iPhone 3GS and 4, really enjoying the purchase so far- a great upgrade over my old W7 laptop.

After months and months of deliberation, I pulled the trigger today and purchased the Base 13" Pro. As an added bonus, I was able to get a printer for free so I guess the wait has somewhat paid off.

Anyway, this is my first Mac and thus far, everything has been faster, smoother, and well better than my previous PC laptop. I've been an avid PC guy since 1990 (starting from 386 processors and 14.4 KBPS modems) and it has treated me well. I hope this transition will treat me well too and I look forward to posting more on this forum.

Cheers!

I love micro center.

Just picked up 2 2011 13" MBPs for $999 each. I was under the impression that from microcenter you dont get the white box just a brown box. but you still get the sealed white macbook pro box its just packaged in a brown box. I wish Micro Center stocked BTO models cause id buy my i7 imac there too. Now the question what to do first......Ram or HD.

An SSD will make the biggest difference.

Whenever microcenter runs apple specials Best Buy as far away as worcester will price match and offer 18 months at 0%.
There is a thread floating around here about upgrading the ram for under $75

I am literally in love! :D

First own Mac, have been using Mac in school for 5 years, PC at home. Literally, after two minutes using the MBP I wondered why I waited 5 years... :D

Yeah, got mine about 2 months ago, and it's my first as well. Great feeling! I always like seeing people get theirs. :D

My MacBook Pro 15 in base came in earlier this evening from Amazon.

Upgraded from an 07 White MacBook.

This thing is FAST. At least a hell of a lot faster than the MacBook. It is absolutely beautiful.

Just got the base 15 inch MBP today. First Mac and so far I couldn't be happier with the transition from PC. Just ordered the Corsair 8 GB DDR3 Laptop Memory Kit, 120gb Agility 3 SSD and an Optibay for the original 500 gb HDD. I would say even brighter days are ahead :D
