Finally! I thought I'd post this after finally getting my first MacBook Pro.

I got the Base 13" earlier today from the Apple Store with the BTS deal and I LOVE IT! So far it has been extremely fast, which is expected coming from a 5 year old Dell. I love the design and it feels so sturdy! I haven't plugged it in yet, but it was at 3:51 when I first pulled it out, and it's now at 3:14. So I haven't done too much with it, just tryikng to transfer my music so far. What I was most impressed with was downloading music off of DatPiff. I downloaded 5 mixtapes at once and that took maybe 2 minutes. Maybe less, I'm not sure. But that definitely made me happy.

Overall, I'm pretty pleased. Even though I've used it for less than an hour. Finally can add some stuff to my sig!!

I'm in love with my MBP. What an awesome product, high quality great OS, worth every penny. I should have converted to mac a long time ago.

Just ordered my Macbook Pro 13" last night. I wanted to say this forum helped some as I was making my decision. I was torn between the 13" and the 15". Some people I knew were recommending the 15" due to screen space, but I went to Best Buy and played around and it seemed to fit my needs. Plus, with the 14 day return policy, I figured that if it turned out that it wasn't enough, I'll return it and buy the 15".

Pretty much, just using it for schoolwork, surfing the internet, some programming and movies and games (older ones like HL2, etc., to kill time) on long flights (I'm about to be stationed in Korea...so I'll be making a few long flights over the next couple years). I'll also be walking around a lot with it, which helped my decision for the 13". But, once I get it and really use it the next couple weeks, I'll know for sure.

I'm looking forward to it! I had no choice but to get the overnight shipping. My patience is lacking. The only thing I'm worried about is the integrated graphics. Not too great of an experience with it, but, based on what I've read, it'll be okay.

And does Fedex work on Sundays?

And does Fedex work on Sundays?

I don't believe so. I took this to mean they'll ship it out on Monday and I'll get it Tuesday. At least, I hope so! Good thing I work nights, I'll be home all day Tuesday waiting.

Hello all!

I recently bought a Macbook Pro.
15 inch
2.2 GHz
8 GB Ram
500gb 7200 RPM
High-res Glossy.

But... Right when I started it up the first time, I noticed a dead pixel. Right up in the right part of the screen. Lucky for me I scheduled a genius appointment and a new laptop is on the way. The audio seems to be off too...

Anyone else get a dead pixel on theirs?

Ordered a 15" 2.2 HR AG at 8:45 tonight. It's already ready to ship and it is barely 11:30! Can't wait to finally get my first Mac.

I checked into this a while back and it seems to be an intermittent problem with some of the Macs. My wife originally gave me a Mac with similar specs as yours back in December. It had a couple of dead pixels. I called it in and was told that the problem would go away with use. Instead it got worse - a LOT worse. So I took it in to the Apple store where they determined it was a logic board problem and gave me a new Mac. However, a few weeks later the new laptop developed another problem that couldn't easily be fixed and required another laptop replacement. So in the space of about three months I went through three MacBook pro laptops.

The really good thing that came of this is that I now have a superfast 2.3 quadcore machine with 8 GB ram and an HR display. The last time my laptop was replaced they were unable to swap it out for the exact unit so they gave me the current generation equivalent. :)

I can't fault them for their customer service, it was amazing. But the reliability has been worse than any PC laptop that I have ever used. In the last 15 years I have never had a PC laptop failure that required a manufacturer return. Aside from the reliability I am very happy with it. It is fast and easy to use. It's a great laptop.

Just received it and I'm typing on it right now! I love it so far! I really think that I'm going to fall in love with this device over the next couple of weeks! I really like the hi-res screen and I think that the glossy is really sharp looking! Multi-touch is one of the coolest features ever!

Well the 15" 2.2 HR/AG I ordered last night just shipped. I figured it would ship from China, but Fedex is showing it was picked in Ontario, CA a half an hour ago. Scheduled for Wednesday delivery, but hopefully it will be here tomorrow as the Fedex location is only 3 hours away!

Nice. Mine is showing picked up in Nashville. See, with it being that close, they should be able to deliver it today. Oh well. Tomorrow's just as good.

Trust me, it isn't!!! :apple:

Well, it worked out perfectly. I work third shift and got home just as the FedEx guy was leaving. So, I was able to get it from him. Now, not only is it here, but I don't go to sleep for a few hours, so I can play with it. I was afraid it would come later or something and I'd have no time. Time to go unpack!

Ordered about 30mins ago and they said it'll be delivered tomorrow :O :O Gotta love Apple :apple:

Doesn't look like it'll arrive today :/ As the money hasn't been taken out :(

Edit: Anywhere I can track it? (Ordered by phone)

Edit2: Just found tracking and it says that its coming today, But no time specified

Beautiful screen, no light leaks or dead pixel. 6G in both bays but I won't be testing it with SSD any time soon as my work doesn't require that type of speed from the HD.

2011
RFB 17 MBP
2.2 Ghz
8GB Ram (ordered 4GB but got 8GB)
Hi-res anti-glare
500GB 7200RPM

Just a quick update on mine, it didn't arrive today but did the tracking and its now been shipped so it should arrive tomorrow :D :apple:

That sucks, but at least you'll get it tomorrow. Congrats on your purchase. You'll love it!

I am really impressed with the shipping. I ordered on Sunday the 26th and got an estimate of July 6 with standard shipping (I am in Canada). Both the comPuter and the app card shipped Monday, and FedEx brought the app card yesterday. The MBP showed up near Toronto yesterday, with expected delivery today, the 29th, a full week ahead of the estimate. Unfortunately the printer comes late august :p

Ordered two days ago. Expected on July 7th.

I hope it arrives ahead of schedule, but the week wait is not too terrible. =]
