I can finally contribute to this thread! Was able to sell my macbook 2008 and between that and some $$ I had saved up my new 13" MBP will be in my hands on Friday :)

I went to go pick up a laptop from BestBuy, a $299 Lenovo, but saw the guy in front of me was returning the low end 15" Macbook Pro. I pounced on it immediately. Initially it was olnly 5% off for an open item but a manager came by and said 10% off. So if came to be $170 off the regular price. :D

Well UPS finally got around to delivering my 13" Macbook Pro this afternoon around 2:30pm. It's everything I had hoped for and more. Bit worried about syncing up my iphone to it, hopefully got it all figured out, am backing up now. Not too worried about the music and now that you can download apps from the cloud it is much better.

Need to tweak the desktop, have downloaded geektool but am at a loss. Need to find a Geektool for Dummies guide!

VERY VERY pleased with the Macbook Pro after just a few days of using it. Anybody on the fence about buying now or waiting for an update, I would totally recommend buying now. This machine does everything expected of a laptop and more. So quiet, fast, lovely screen, great OS. Just fantastic. God I sound like a fanboy!:apple:

Just ordered a MacBook Pro 13" i5 for my 18th :D, wanted a mac for like 7 years now, finally converting from dell hell

Also, on the order page I notice this "Delivers 12 Oct, 2011", does this mean it leaves the apple warehouse in the UK on this date, or it will be at my house on this date?

:apple:

New owner of the 13.3 inch Macbook Pro 2.3 i5. Just purchased from b&h and counting down the days til arrival! Just purchase a MarWare case in addition. Can't wait!!

Just Got Confirmation

My new i7 17" will be delivered today...A day late, but never mind. Just formatted another external hdd for it's backup.

Updated my AIR (iTunes update today) and took the wrapping of my carry case (got the see through spec hard shell coming with it)

I feel a VERY late night coming on!

New to the Mac world and ordered a 15inch MBP. It arrived at my house yesterday, but due to work I won't be home to see it until the first weekend in Nov

Anyways just wanted to say hi and warn everyone that I am going to be "that guy" with a lot of questions......:D

FINALLY ordered my new baby:

MacBook Pro 15-inch Hi-Res Antiglare Widescreen Display base model.

Sold my old MBP (see sig) a couple of weeks ago and have been working on my ancient PowerBook and *shudders* a Win 7 machine. Would have loved to wait until the next update but I need a new laptop now. When my finances allow, I will upgrade to 8 gigs of RAM. Unless my unit is a lemon, I think and hope this one will last me a long time. :apple:

Finally ordered my MBP :D Been trying to change over to a mac for years now... Can barely afford it but oh well! :)
15" base model with Hi-res glossy & I'll upgrade the RAM to 8GB :D

Just bought a Macbook Pro 13" with 4gb RAM.
It is the basic model from Best Buy.
First thing I did after receiving it was install Kaspersky AV.
No reason for me to spread windows based virusses to windows users :).

Going to upgrade the HDD to a SDD and RAM to 16GB.
I know only 16GB is not supported, but it works :).

Still looking for a regular macbook.

Too much MBP

I just bought a new MBP 13 base + got some RAM from Amazon and looking for an SSD but I have no idea which one to get.

Anywayz this is to replace my exact same model MBP that I lost in a train together with my other possessions like passport, keys, work stuff, etc. I just got off the train and forgot my backpack. I guess I'm not the brightest duck. I called the train company, reported it to the police and stuff. This was somewhere in the Netherlands. After a couple days of agonizing I ordered a new MBP from the US, it took like 3 weeks to arrive through a friend. So one day after it arrived I get a letter from the Dutch saying that they found my backpack and they're willing to return it to me. Meh.

Mid 2010 15" MBP HiRes antiglare i7

Just got a great deal on this lil puppy, one hour drive on a saturday night and tomorrow i will be shopping my SSD, 15inch iLap and a mighty mouse.

I live in the Netherlands, on what track did you lose it?
You are lucky that there are still honest people in the world i guess, you now have 2 macbooks :)
You could sell the old one for a good price and use the money to upgrade your new one even further.

About a week ago I ordered my MBP 17 inch from macmall!! It's going to be in backorder status until the 21st and then 5 days of shipping.:mad: Switching from PCs. Just want to let everyone know that I like windows but PC build quality is terrible! You don't want to know my horror story with my old HP... *shudder*. I hope that wretched computer goes to hell!!

I Can't Wait!

Hey everyone! On Friday October 14, at about 7PM I ordered my first MBP! After receiving council from my Computer Info. Systems Prof., (who I emailed frantically, because my refund had just arrived) and one of my high-tech buddies that I've known for a while. I decided to listen to my Prof. who basically wanted the same thing for me that I wanted: a customized Mac! Here's what I decided to get:

2.2GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7
8GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB
500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200
8x Double-Layer SuperDrive
MBP 15" HR Glossy WS Display

In the past 2 days I've only received one email from my order. I'm finally at the "Preparing for Shipment" stage. On Saturday I called customer service to speed up the shipping from postal mix to expedited shipping! I seriously can NOT wait until my MBP gets to my door step. The anticipation of receiving it is messing up my study plans; I try reading my psych book but then I begin day dreaming about my new mac! All I can think, eat, and breathe is MacBook Pro right now!

Under my order details it says:
Ships: 1 - 3 business days
Delivers Oct 20 - Oct 24 via Expedited Shipping

I hope they ship it tomorrow so I can get it on Tuesday or even Wednesday, it's not impossible right!? :D

I also ordered an apple magic mouse + charger. I'm dying over here! I WANT MY FIRST MAC ALREADY! :)

It was an IC train from Amsterdam to Brussels. They said the chances of recovering it are very slim. So, that is a lucky MBP maybe I shouldn't sell it :)

Finalllyyy!

Hi guys! I just ordered my first Mac! I'm so so excited. I've been waiting a long time. I ordered the base 13 inch. I couldn't wait, so I expedited the shipping. I already have a 500GB external hard drive, and will be buying a sweet deal 2 TB for 119.00 as a another backup. (It was cheaper than paying 300 more for the next level of 13inch.

I am so so so excited I can barely contain myself. It delivers this Thursday! I for see many sleepless nights playing with my new toy!

Got my 15" MBP today. I did want the hires screen, but they didn't have one in stock... and 1440x900 is better than the 1024x768 my iBook and Pavilion had. Got the mini-DP to HDMI adapter, too, in case I need some extra screen. (I just have to pick up the AppleCare once I get that last $600 grant check from my college, no idea why it's taking so long. Worst case scenario, I buy it with the money I get back from selling books back... or at least put said money toward it.)

I'm in love with the thing already. The service was absolutely outstanding, even with how full the store was! Little snag with getting the student discount since I don't have a state ID, but I somehow wasn't even aware you could get an ID without a driver's license.

For the curious, I went to the Apple Store in Christiana Mall. Worth the out of state trip just to save on sales tax... and it was nice to actually go to DE for once.

So I called Apple yesterday and ordered the base model 13" MBP.

The girl on the end of the phone couldn't have been any nicer. With the iPhone 4S out, the Apple store in Manchester, UK is pretty busy so I called the order through instead.

I'm just waiting for that dispatch email now! :)
