are the latest early 2011 MBP refurbs from Apple coming with 10.6 or 10.7? any DVD's with the OS included or is it all internet recovery?

15" MacBook Pro (Late 2011)
2.5 GHz Core i7 Quad-Core CPU
High-Res AntiGlare Screen
16 GB Corsair 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM
256GB Samsung 830 SSD

Just picked it up ~4 hours ago from the Apple store and I absolutely love it! I didn't even power it on after taking it out of the box once home, I installed the SSD and RAM immediately.

I just received mine today (2ghz i7 15") and it came with Lion, but no discs. I am going to install the Crucial SSD and Crucial 8gb RAM this weekend, so I plan to do a clean install of Lion from the net.

I just ordered/bought my (refurb) 17" Antiglare 2.2 i7 and it shipped today!

Can't wait to get a shot of it, I've been desperate to properly try out an antiglare 17" for a long time.

got a new 13" i5, to replace a 2008 macbook. geekbench speed is TWICE the older mac. added 8gigs ram, a 256G crucial M4. am loving the speed, and the quiet.

saved $200, thanx to black friday at amazon!

=d

I ordered my 13 MBP (Base model + 750GB HDD) on Wednesday.

Have been tracking it like crazy. Collected it today.

Gonna unbox it very soon. :)

Congrat's,

It's going to be quite a change from your 11"! Is it going to be your only computer?

Please post how you like it once you've had some time on it.

It will be, entatlrg! It's a big change, but I think it'll be a good one. I went to the local Apple Store to try it out and was quite amazed. I'll let you know how it goes.

Are you thinking about a change from your Airs?

Had my first mac for about a week now, 13" i7 every think people said like the bad res screen and no ssd have been fine, the screen looks lush. uber fast and just installed 8gb of ram to speed things up even more.

Scored a 2.3Ghz early 2011 Hi-res anti-glare 15" MBP off of ebay for $1650
No scratches scuffs etc. Even came with a clear speck case.

Probably the best deal I've ever gotten on a macbook pro.

I know its a Post-PC World but...

It definitely isn't a Post-Mac one, and I just ordered a new MacBook Pro to replace my Black MacBook. This was bought for $929 from the refurb store, and now I can't wait for the thing to arrive!

My current MacBook can not run Lion, which is one of the reasons why I have decided to order my new MacBook, and couldn't be bothered to wait to ask for one for Christmas, that I just went ahead and placed the order (parents can now find me something else for christmas, such as MacBook cases ;)).

Now to twiddle my thumbs for two days ;)

Yeah, it floored me to see that this morning. I think the days of Macs holding their resale value will sunset. Except perhaps top tier upgrade choices.

Btw I've had this same MBP since February and it really has been a great machine. For the money I consider it a best buy.

We're in as much of a post-PC world as we're in a post-slavery or post-racial world.

Unfortunately the first will probably come before the others.

how big is the refurb box? is it bigger than the regular retail box?

need to plan for sneaking it into the house to surprise my wife

Same as mine minus the adapter - it's incredible, best laptop and best computer I've ever owned. The performance of this thing blows me away. When I think about how much I spent on it I do think perhaps I shouldn't be so surprised by how good it is, but it could have easily been an anti-climax from what I was hoping for. Enjoy!

Thanks, miniConvert. I'm looking forward to it. While the price of the 512GB Apple (Toshiba?) SSD is definitely on the high side, I decided it would be worth it if it meant not revisiting the issues I've had with third-party SSDs. Speed is nice, but reliability is mandatory.

Managed to get a NEW Early 2008 2.3ghz i7 with 8gb ram 500gb HDD and high rez glossy display and apple care today for 2,000 with shipping. I dont think thats a bad deal at ALL. Such a nice upgrade form my old 17" penryan!

Just received it, This is one amazing machine! I have given my old BlackBook to a friend who needed a Snow Leopard machine, and this new computer is my new main computer. I love this! Lion is one amazing OS.

I'd go for the middle option (early 2011 refurb @ 2.2GHz). It has more video RAM which could be useful for video editing in GPU-accelerated apps, and I believe that the early 2011 2.2 GHz CPU is slightly faster than the late 2011 at the same clock speed (the early 2011 has more cache).
