yeah yeah yeah yeah ye ye ye ye ye ye yeah!

brand new 15" 2.4i7 just came in from china. got the 128gb apple ssd as well as the hi res anti glare.

unfortunately I'm about as sick as this new mbp, just came down with a stomach virus thats been going around at my college.

i already have an opti bay and 8gb of crucial ram to slap in er. will report back when i have the energy to pop the bottom open. also will report what ssd is in her as well. btw i went with the apple ssd since i figured its the most reliable option and the price wasn't bad.

my face looks like this right now literally :D I'm green but this macbook is still keeping me smiling.

Congrats on the purchase!

No such thing as Apple SSD though, it's either a Samsung or some no brander.

thanks man

but its considered an apple ssd. its what they called it and obviously i know its not an actual apple ssd otherwise i wouldn't have said ill let you guys know exactly what ssd it is later...

but its considered an apple ssd

No it is not. It is considered an Apple SSD Option. They list it that way so that they can change the vendor as supplies change without needing to update the page. Just like the HDD is an option. It lists the speed and size but no manufacturer. So by your logic it would be considered and Apple HDD.

Enjoy you new MBP!!

ok nit pick ****ers. you know what i mean. I'm just saying its an ssd that apple stocks and puts their own firmware on it. iv already stated that i know its not an apple brand...

im damn near hallucinating over here from being so sick and you guys are busting my balls lol frig off ricky

I'm finally replacing my PowerBook G4 1.5 12"

It's been a long time coming, but I pulled the trigger this morning.

15-inch MacBook Pro
- 2.5GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7
- 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
- 750GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200
- MBP 15" HR Antiglare WS Dspl

and an 8GB ram upgrade from OWC ($50).

I'm a graphic artist and 2D/3D animator in broadcast television. I'm a little lighter in the wallet today but I am excited to be moving to an Intel at home for me. I'm know I will get plenty of use out of it for years to come.

I keep and use my computers for many years - 'cos they're Apples and they work. My family computer is a G4 Quicksilver 2002 dual 1gHz with two 500GB hard drives running OS X 10.5 and it's still working great. Someday a Mac Mini will replace it. I bought my 13-year-old son an early 2011 MacBook Pro 13" and my wife an iPad 2 earlier this year. So this one is for me this time. I'm kinda happy about it.

But what will become of the PowerBook G4 1.5 12"? Maybe it will become a kitchen/recipe computer, though my wife's iPad 2 has come in handy there. Or maybe it will live in it's original box next to my PowerMac 7100 in the closet. It just seems a crime to throw this stuff away. Any other suggestion as to what to do with the PowerBook G4 12" is welcome. Long live Apple.

Just received it, This is one amazing machine! I have given my old BlackBook to a friend who needed a Snow Leopard machine, and this new computer is my new main computer. I love this! Lion is one amazing OS.

Can you still keep the Snow Leopard home page (window panes with fav. sites)? That is the main reason i like snow leopard. OS lion has some nice program features from what i've seen.

Pedantic much?

I'd go for the middle option (early 2011 refurb @ 2.2GHz). It has more video RAM which could be useful for video editing in GPU-accelerated apps, and I believe that the early 2011 2.2 GHz CPU is slightly faster than the late 2011 at the same clock speed (the early 2011 has more cache).

ended up going with the brand new MBP 15 it was available didnt feel like waiting :)

2.2Ghz 8gb ram so sick!

Thanks for the input

Just bought my first MacBook Pro 15", I got it from BestBuy due to being a reward zone member and I wanted the accidental damage warranty. I got a pretty good deal I think. I went originally planning to buy an open box one I saw on the online site but when I went to the store to ask more about it that MacBook Pro hadn't been wiped off the previous owners info.

Told the manager I was pretty disappointed and was hoping to walk out the store with a MacBook Pro in hand today. He made me a deal on a brand new one after it was already on sale. Pretty excited as I love all my other Apple products but this is my first chance at finally owning a MacBook Pro.

Just got my macbook pro 13" yesterday! 2.8 GHz, 4GB Ram, 750GB HD. I'm also about to order the 8GB Ram kit, 120GB Mercury Electra 6G SSD, Data Doubler, and the external Superdrive Inclosure all from OWC. ****ing excited!

I just bought a used (one month old used) 2011 15" Macbook Pro 2.0GHz, 500GB HD. I upgraded the ram myself to 8GB.

The computer has barely been used (owner preferred a PC) and it is still under warranty till 2012.

I got it much cheaper than if I bought it from the apple store refurbished.

Anywoo.... I'm in love. I owned a Mac Performa in university, as well as a 333hz blueberry iMac.

I'm so glad to come back to Mac again.

I just bought a late 2011 15" MBP.

Absolutely love it. Not sure why I waited so long to make the switch to a Mac.

hey guys

So I decided that it was time for a change...windows just bored me (nothing bad about it just got me bored)...and I started using my friends 15 inch mbp for some video editing and reviewing cases and products...so I started liking it more and more and said screw this..lets pull the trigger

Luckly i found a guy that was selling a mbp early 2011 stock that he bought in october..Got the reciept, the box and everything...traded it for some stuff i was selling on craigslist that totaled 650..I think i came up :)

The computer is
13 mbp
4gb ram
i5
320 gb

Purchased squaretrade with accidental protection as well for 200 bucks

I honestly like it...only thing i dislike about apple is the subculture that some users try to portrait (fanboi, hipster, etc) but the product itself is beautiful

So far happy with it. Im contacting companies to start reviewing cases for it as I do now for phones

After 6 months of fantasizing about the Macbook Pro, I have finally placed my order. I decided to go with the 15-inch late'11 base model with the anti glare screen.

I should be receiving it by the end of the week. Can't wait to get this bad boy going :D

Got my 1st MacBook ever back in September -- a 13" MBA 2011. I liked it so much that I decided I wanted something more powerful with a larger screen. So I ordered a refurbed early-2011 MBP 15" 2GHz i7/4GB RAM/500GB HD/Hi-res/Anti-glare.

System was delivered last night. I haven't done much with it yet, but I was treated to a nice surprise on 1st boot. I checked system info, and it looks like my system came with 8GB RAM. Thanks for the free upgrade, Apple!

Now I have to sell the 2x4GB 1333 DDR3 Kingston I bought a couple days ago on Craigslist.

Just waiting for my 160GB Intel X25-M G2 to arrive in the mail, and I'll be all set to go.

Well my PC days are over. Always had a PC since my dad bought a 4 colour pc 1512!! Just ordered a base model 13" MBP and can't wait!!

My very first Macbook Pro is in the process of shipping!

I just ordered a 13-in Macbook Pro (2.4Ghz/4GB RAM/500GB HDD) making this my first "modern" (post-G5 era) Mac I've owned. I'm so excited! It was also 70$ cheaper. It should be here tomorrow or Monday. Now when I say I have an Apple laptop, I don't have to pull out my PowerBook G3 :D

Congratulations, you'll love it. I love my MacBook Pro, and wouldn't trade it for any other computer. Once you go Mac, you'll never go back. What kinds of accessories are you going to buy for the thing? Carrying cases? Notebook stands? Monitors?
