I ordered mine within 15 minutes of the store coming back up and IT HAS SHIPPED :D

...the MagSafe2 converter, that is. The Pro itself is still 'processing'. :(

MacBook Pro 15-inch with Retina display
2.7GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.7GHz
16GB 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
512GB Flash Storage

*drools* This will be my system if I so order to order it. I need help deciding, as I was originally planning to wait for the 17", will there be one? A retina display one I mean.

Ordered base model rMBP right after the store came online Monday. Bumped to free 2-3 day shipping with a delivery date of June 21-25. Still not shipped. Just processing. Getting antsy.

Changing..

Ordered a base model 30min after the store went online.
It will be shipped in 5-7 days.

I think I will return it and upgrade it to a 2.6Ghz with 16GB of ram instead. I think it's worth the money to make it more future proof.

Since I don't want to wait 3-4 weeks with nothing to play with, I will use the 2.3Ghz model during the first 2 weeks. ;)

Bastards, Apple took a whole day to process my order, and now delivery time slipped from 3/7-9/7 to 12/7-18/7.

I guess I'll come down once I get the new machine in my hand, still unacceptably slow payment processing for a company the size of Apple.

Whole day? Lucky you, mine has been processing since monday.

I placed my order as soon as I possibly could on monday (well to be fair I spent about 90 seconds deciding on the memory upgrade (opted against it)) and it was "shipped" as of this morning :D

Should be here on Monday and I cannot wait.

Placed order for the 2.3 GHz 15" retina MBP. Status is still processing, of course. But the ETA is between 10-16 July, did anyone's order got carried into earlier dates as they start to prepare the shipments? I hope Apple ramps up production and we can all get our hands on the MBP ASAP :D

Is that with the free shipping?

Oh no I paid the 15 dollars for 2-3 day shipping. I figure I'm already at 2500 another 15 isn't going to matter lol! Glad I did to because it is shipping via fedex. love fedex hate UPS.

Oh and it shipped. Official delivery date is the 18th. No weekend toy :( oh well.

Still says 2-3 weeks for MBPro R-type, but the icon just changed from an image of the MBPro, to a cardboard box! YES THIS MEANS SOMETHING

My "back to school" gift card image has been occasionally flipping to a cardboard box since last night and there's a $100 charge from Apple pending... but no change with the MBP

I ordered the base retina macbook pro on Monday with free shipping. I called to ask to change to in-store pickup but since that wasn't available, they gave me free 2-3 day shipping instead! :D Ships in 7-10 days and should arrive Jun 25 - 28. I hope it's sooner!

So anyone know the normal time period between preparing for shipping and shipped?

My retina box just went to preparing and of course now I'm getting ~antsy~...

Why would you be charged for the back to school? It's $100 free.

Sweet that now makes 4 of us total that has purchased the 15" non-retina MBP.

When I say total I mean for the entire world :p

Well i've made a payment at an Premium Apple reseller for my first Macbook Pro or Mac in general beside my iPod touch devices.

I will get the base `15" MBP (non Retina) i am soooo happy

I went refurbished:

Originally released October 2011
15.4-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit glossy widescreen display, 1440-by-900 resolution
4GB (2 x 2GB) of 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM
500GB Serial ATA @ 5400 rpm
8x double-layer SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
Intel HD Graphics 3000 and AMD Radeon HD 6750M

$1,443.94 after tax and will be here tomorrow!

Would have loved to get the Retina, money is an object for me and don't like the soldered RAM.

I will probably upgrade to an SSD at some point and up the RAM.

I don't game on the machine, so the updated graphics really arn't worth the cost for me.

Needless to say it will be a huge upgrade from my Nov. 2006 white MacBook. With it's 2GHz Core 2 Duo, I upgraded the RAM to a whole 2GB and it's 80GB HDD. Not to mention the bulging battery.

Ordered a refurb October 2011 model for close to $1500 all in. Also bought a 256gb SSD and 8GB of RAM. Everything should arrive by mid next week!
