I'll be getting mine on Monday, but how is the scaled 1920x1080 resolution?

I'm 51, and I wear progressive lenses, and even the highest resolution looks great to me. I'll probably work in the "best for retina" option most of the time because everything looks so terrific, but I don't have any problems with the highest res if I want the extra screen real estate. I think that you'll be really happy with it.

I currently have a Black MacBook from 2006, Intel Core Duo @ 2Ghz, 1GB RAM, geekbench score a staggering 2642.

Ordered the stock 13" 2.9Ghz/8GB/750MB. Very excited, I've been waiting a long time. I'm looking forward to the improvement. :D

I figure in a couple of years I will swap out the optical drive for an SSD, and it will be like another big upgrade :)

My MacBook Pro 15.4 2,6 GHz HiRes should arrive on monday. :) I hope it will be cooler than my 2,2 GHz 2011.

...

Got a 13" MBP w/ an education discount to replace my 2006 dead MacBook (white)

Already upgraded the ram, gotta upgrade the ssd :)

The SSD and 8GB ram make a big difference in speed. This thing is really quick!

Ordered a 15.4 Macbook pro retina June 12th. Could only afford the base model, as apple charges way higher prices here in Norway. The base model costs $3200 here, but with the education discount i got it down to $2800 plus the $ 100 gift card. However the estimated delivery date is July 11th

I just bought the 13" 2.9ghz and picked up in store. Been playing with it since and i love it. Upgrade from my old 2006 g5 mac pro tower. Must admit going from 23 cinema display to 13 laptop wont be easy but ill manage! Nice to be able to install new programs again. On my old tower i couldnt install anything up to date cuz it wasnt intel based

pulled the trigger on the high end 13.3 macbook pro

after many many hours of diliberation i decided to opt for the 13.3 Macbook pro with the 2.9 i7 8 gb ram 750 hard drive from best buy with education discount and 150 bb gift card.

went with all intentions of buying the 15" rMBP but i couldnt justify the extra 700 dollars bc i really have no need for that computer just really wanted it to say i had it. also i am replacing a Macbook 1,1 so for the last 6 years ive been on a 13" and have gotten so used to it that the jump to 15 felt twice the size.

I am happy so far with my purchase and as soon as i can talk the misses into it i want to do the ODD switch out to an SSD and drop either 12 or 16 gb of ram into this thing.

Waiting for my new MBP classic

I ordered the new Mbp classic 13.3 " model on thursday June 14th on amazon and took advantage of the 12 month free interest financing from the amazon store. I have most of the cash already set aside for it. So I am anxiously awaiting my delivery today.woohooo! This is my first MacBook so I have much to learn, macrumors seems to be the best Mac forum available.:)

just been to get my new MBP 13", held out for WWDC and im glad as now it has USB3 which will atleast provide a little bit more future proofing. Couldnt be happier so far just transferring all my media etc over to it

I bought my 17" 2.2GHz i7 brand new 3 months ago, and upgraded it to 16GB RAM and a 1TB hard drive...but I figured the Retina model will suit me better for college. So I bought the 2.3GHz model with 16GB RAM and 256GB flash storage. One terabyte is overkill for me, it's just in there because I like maxing my computers out. Right now I only use 150GB. Plus, it seems that if I ever need to, the actual flash storage card would not be much of a pain to swap out.

I used the Apple Education store, which was great because of the discount and free $100 gift card! But I must wait until July 12th-17th to get my new one as I was on vacation when they released. Oh well. :)

Hey everyone, I received my reserve confirmation SKU for the RMBP from Best Buy. Does anyone have any experience how this works? Does that mean Best Buy is waiting for that particular SKU model to be delivered? Thanks for the help!

Broke down and ordered the rMBP to replace my 6 year old dead 17" 2.33 MBP (late 2006)

Apple did me right!

I have been on the fence with Apple products, but decided to go ahead and order the refurbished MacBook Pro 15" they have for 1359.00.

Not only did I receive it from the Apple Store quickly, but they also sent me an upgraded model with 1680x1050 resolution. Just a week ago, this MacBook Pro would have been almost $2000.

I'm very happy with my purchase and these little things are what helps "convert" people over to Apple products.

I will definitely become more involved with Apple products and let everyone know of my excellent experience.

I'm an Apple newbie. I had to call Apple support to get something taken care of. It wasn't Apples fault "bill me later" put a hold on the transaction. Long story short it's taken care of and Apple has the best support I've ever had to deal with.

They're automated thing is a little weird tho heh.

bought new retina MBP

Just bought the new higher end retina MBP and upgraded to 16GB RAM!

I original ordered the higher end one with the stock 8GB, but called a few days later on june 15 to switch it to the 16GB, and originally had my shipping changed from 7-10 business days to 3-4 weeks, then later that night i received a shipping confirmation for june 19th by 11am!

Cant what for it to come and load up Diablo 3!

I didnt want to start another thread about this so hopefully I'll get some help from people who ordered their Retina-MBP

My question is I ordered the new RMBP the same day they released it. My question is when do they charge your credit card?

right now I have a charge for $200 from apple store on my card. Is that like a holding fee or something? Im just confused about this so hopefully I get some helpful feedback.

thank you in advance!

After a week of deliberating I finally decided on the Retina base model with no upgrades.

It's given delivery dates of 17th-23rd of July (I'm in the UK), it'll be worth the wait in the end!

They should charge your credit card the full amount the day it leaves for distribution. The $200 charge is probably a transaction to make sure the funds were available on the card.

hey

hello everyone, I'm new in this forum, also english is not my primarily language, so excuse spelling...

i just bought a late 2011 mbp about 1 month ago, i use it for web browsing and a little photoshop and excel my question is i did a wrong move by not waiting for the new model.
i read a lot of ppl saying that is not a big deal, that is not a major upgrade.

it did cost me $17560 pesos about 1260dlls versus the new which is at $21000 pesos about 1507dlls, so my question is is it worth the extra 300 dlls only for a slightly fast processor?

i did the right move or i failed by buying the yesterdays model...

thanx 4 answering
