I'm happy to hear such good reviews about this model. I ended up ordering one tonight. It will be my first mac ever. I also did not care for a 13" retina macbook. I'm excited and can't wait to see it at my front door
Same here. Went from mid 2009 2.53Ghz to 2012 2.9Ghz. I'm pretty blown away by the performance increase.
[MODERATOR NOTE: Please use this thread to post about the new/refurb MBP you've just ordered / got / are unboxing / etc. Please DO NOT start new threads on the subject.
Thank you!]
Got the 2.53 with 2-3 day shipping .... hope it arrives by Friday
I've been patiently waiting for three weeks when I spilled water on my old macbook (may it rest in peace) and insurance reimbursed me.
Anyone else order one?
What kind of insurance did you have on it that covered spills? Thanks
Hi guys. If anyone's interested, I created a video for my new 2012 MBP with Retina display. Some technical information is included.
NEW 2012 MacBook Pro with Retina display review in HD!
From the description: This is my first video for the NEW 2012 Apple MacBook Pro with Retina display, with side by side comparison of a 2011 MacBook Pro. What makes this new laptop so great? Watch and find out!
Cheers!
The ebay version is slightly better, but the difference is very small, since you can upgrade both the RAM and storage on either.Hey everyone !
I am gonna go with a 17" mbp refurb off their site but ebay also has one:
17" Apple i7 Macbook Pro 2.4GHz 8gb 750GB 7200RPM NEW RELEASE 10/24/2011
OR-
Apple store online:
Refurbished MacBook Pro 2.5GHz Quad-core Intel i7
4gb 750GB 5400rpm Oct.2011
Which one is faster more capable to handle lots of music / graphics?
Thanks..

There is no way I would spend that kind of cash on eBay, way to many things that could go wrong. From getting ripped off to getting a grey market PC that Apple won't cover warranty wise. Either buy from Apple or a reputable reseller.
