yea, to my amazement, chrome was a horrorshow at native res with the DPI @ 200%,, but IE9 looks fine. Still, I would prefer safari. even without bookmark sync, IE9 is a bit too stylized for me...trying to hard to be different.

i wonder what the problem is with Chrome...there are plenty of very large, very high-res displays out there in the world that are connected to windows machines.

Here is a fix for chrome in win7.

i would be careful...you beer can seems too close to your rMBP.

You may end up being one of the posters on this forum...
"Help! I spilled beer on my rMBP"

I'm just paranoid, do as you wish and enjoy!

you're right. if anything this is a good reason to invest in a gaming PC or go back to console gaming :)

A few people have been moaning that the distance has been reduced too much for keystrokes, so if anything, you should find it more responsive.

I could type noticeably longer with my Late-2011 MBP before fatigue sets in. Everytime I type for long periods on my rMBP (2-3 hours), my distal interphalangeal joints start to hurt.

Anyways when I'm at my workstation, I plug in a mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX brown keys. Seems to solve all my my problems.

I am just starting to learn about the world of mechanical keyboards and the whole line of Cherry switches.

I'm thinking of getting a kb with Cherry Blacks, since they seem to have the highest resistance and no feedback click. I assume that this will work for me because my favorite apple keyboard right now is the wireless keyboard, which has no feedback but requires more force than the laptop keyboards.

I am really looking forward to getting our NiftyDrives! Setup looks great.

did you get your survey yet? it was supposed to go out monday, but i didn't get an email.

Ordered it on the 7th, what date do you guys reckon it will come?

The email says 21st-23rd but that seems like quite a while considering the reduced delivery time.

Thanks in advance. (Im in the UK if that makes a difference)

I ordered mine on August 3rd and it has been "preparing shipment" for over 24hrs now , is this normal?

That's probably accurate. It SHIPS in 5-7 business day. Then it should take another 5-7 business days to arrive at your house.

You should be fine. If you are concerned, give them a call.

Ordered a new 13 inch MacBook on Sunday, (i7, 8GB, 256 SSD) AUG 05.. order status says 'still processing' It's been over 72 hours! Is this normal?

It's replacing my very reliable (but roadblocked at Lion OS X 10.7) late 2006 13 inch black mac.

This is normal since it seems you customized the hard drive. Takes a short while longer to get customs built and delivered.

After five years, I decided to send my 2007 MBP (Santa Rosa) into semi-retirement. Picked up a beautiful new retina MBP this afternoon.

My God, it's full of stars...

After weeks of writing pros and cons lists and sweating bullets, I've purchased a MBP. So stressful.

I bought the baseline 2.3ghz non Retina (But with hi res screen)!

I'm really excited, finally upgrading from my Powerbook G4 circa 2003.

After over 24hrs my status has finally changed from preparing for shipment to shipping! SO EXCITED ! It's estimated to get here by August 15, is it possible to receive it sooner? :O

No fair, I ordered mine the same date and mine still says 'Processing items'! I am in the UK though, not sure if this makes any difference. Oh, and it's the rMBP, not sure what yours is.

Mine is the rMBP as well and I'm from Canada Ontario. China is closer to you than me, yours should come before mine!

Ordered 2.6/16/256 rMBP Aug 1st.

It has spent 2.5 days frolicking around Shanghai.
Really should have went with 2-3 day shipping *facepalm.

On a scale 1-10...

I used a first-gen aluminum body 13" Macbook 2.4 dual-core, 2gb ram, GeForce 9400M for more than 4 years. It took me through college and across the world, all the while chugging along letting me handle decently-sized files, moderate photo and video editing, and even gaming at the lowest of the low specs, all the way up to today (Diablo 3 runs fine in boot camp).

Now that I have a salary I figured it was time to splurge, so I ordered a rMBP 2.7/16/256 and it finally comes tomorrow.

On a scale of 1-10, how amazed will I be?

My guess is a 12.

My wife just advised me that my cMBP has been delivered! I was in the iMac camp, but got tired of waiting for the mythical 2012 refresh.

Just got my "refurbished" Mid 2012 13" from Amazon. Got it for $196 less than msrp. To my surprise though, the computer is brand new, box has the clear seal on it still and it even has the sticker on the plastic covering the computer. Only thing wrong is there's a crease on the outside of the box. Overall, I'm very happy with it :D

Windows -> MAC

Finally made the swap guys! I've been a windows user my whole life... Once i hit college I wanted a Mac but funds wouldn't allow, I worked my ass off this summer and ordered the RMBP aug 4th 2.3/16/256 I can't wait till it gets here!

It shipped yesterday from China... any idea of how long it usually takes to get here? I live on the east coast if that helps!

Thanks!

BTW i did expedited shipping
