Does the Macbook Pros that you're ordering now come with Mountain Lion pre installed?

I just got my classic MacBook Pro today and it came with Mountain Lion preinstalled (I ordered on the 26th of July), so I'm pretty sure that's the standard for everyone now.

Anyway, I love it (the MacBook Pro, not Mountain Lion necessarily, even though I can't complain about it).

Upgraded from a low-end 2009 Mac Mini and they are worlds apart!

Yes, weekends do not count for processing. It says ships in 5-7 business days on the site, so it might not be until next Monday it ships, but mine shipped in 4 days.

I ordered on the 14th, and it shipped on the 17th. It's been in China forever, and seems to be in Alaska now, but they say it should come tomorrow, so we'll see.

mines finally preparing for shipment today

my computer still is "in transit" from Anchorage, AK, and its been like that for over 28 hrs. No updates, no check ins, etc.

My Retina came today! This machine is truly beautiful.
I got an LG screen but theres nothing noticeably wrong with it. Not going to bother with that hardcore IR test though, feels like I'm looking for faults.

Edit: Ordered on Aug 15, 2.3/16/256 config. in case anyone wanted to know

It came a long way. Ordered in Germany and from there forwarded to Romania (I got it about $600 cheaper that way).

I was going to be upset when I saw you got it a day before me when I ordered before you, but then I realized they only had to ship it to Australia to get to you. I live in the states.

Anyone here a direct Window-to-iOS user? While I'm certainly looking forward to receiving my Mac, I'm afraid I'll go through some sort of "OS-shock" where I'll be overwhelmed with having to relearn the in's and out's of the Mac. For example, I can safely and reasonably navigate Win7 like the back of my hand, even some of the "advanced" functions, but I'm afraid I won't be getting to that stage with a Mac anytime soon.

I think this might be one of the very few times where living in Aus has actually benefitted me :p

Me tooo! It said it was supposed to be in today by 4:30 pm (PDT) and it's still "In Transit" in Anchorage.

Mine actually came in on time. A combination of a delay in tracking info and perhaps a delay in the actual submittal time ended up with it moving from AK to Texas in a matter of 10 hours.

I am... it's not a problem for me whatsoever. I've used friends Macs though, but anything I need, I just google. But this website is a great resource. If you like need help navigating, it's very intuitive. Most everything is similar.

Since I posted last night it went from Alaska -> Memphis, TN -> Los Angeles -> Orange County. Out for delivery now. :D

Jumped from Windows XP Pro to 10.6.8, Snow Leopard

@SUNO: And it was, as you fear, a shock. After the first (very long) 3 days, in a different state, new surroundings, amid 'family reunion' I managed to get acquainted, clean up some malware-riddled computers in the family. BUT let me tell you, the external display issue has me totally stumped. I planned to use the MacBook Pro with an external keyboard and mouse, and a larger viewing space. Needed this blazing little MBP to run a sophisticated film-production program and later editing.

So far all went very well...except I have never yet been able to get any external display to 'wake up'...it's detected, I can adjust the settings, tried two different monitors that run just fine on either of two old Dells, has the correct mini-port adapter, etc. I'm SO bummed, on my (at least) fifth day of reading manuals, forums, sites, and tried many 'fixes' that worked for others. I'll keep trying. Am seeking ideas from others who have overcome this issue (NOT on Mountain Lion, though, as I have the snow kitty).

Hey, you can do it. I hadn't touched an Apple product since the 80's, been doing loads of medicolegal transcription, novel manuscripts, film scripts on various PCs, but I'm feeling reasonably comfortable already on this MBP. BTW, I'm entirely self-taught on computers and this is the very first time I've run across something that I just can't work my way through alone...feeling a little defeated but still trying, eh. ;)

Just ordered the rMBP. I was on the fence about waiting for the new iMacs but I can't wait any longer, my 2008 isn't up to the tasks any more!

I got 16gb ram for video editing and the 512gb SSD so I have less of need for external drives. Hopefully it's future proof for 5-6 years!

Pricewise, the regular MBP would be slightly more expensive with the 512 SSD, and 16GB isn't even a possibility.

I really like the retina iPad screen so this'll be great. I read a lot on the computer and the retina makes the machine ideal for reading.

ONly 2-4 days until it ships!

Ordered a custom config 2.6/16/256 on the 21st and as of today "preparing for shipment". :D

UK by the way
