Let me know what you hear....I am quite curious as to their excuse for being incredibly slow at delivering our laptops...not like this is the first time they have ever shipped a package internationally. it's like-
"Oh my gosh, they..they bought a laptop...and it was made in China! Quick grab the camera, get a news crew over here, this is unbelievable...I have never seen anything like this in my life....we can't ship these yet until we get some pictures...."
They could get this to me(Philadelphia) by the end of the day if they wanted to...
We're on the same flight it looks like.... mine just got released this morning as well. Still says Thursday. Calling now to get my 2-3 day money back.. this is ridiculous. If they can't deliver it in time, they shouldn't offer 2-3 day shipping on BTO computers.

Dad should be ordering my 13 inch MacBook Pro (2.53 Ghz stock model) tonight! Very excited, it will be my first laptop since a hand me down I had for three months when I was something along the lines of... perhaps 8 years old? It was a titanium Powerbook G4. I currently use an iMac G5 w/ iSight at home, but I'm definitely ready to move to something a lot better.
Asked him to get expedited shipping (The money to get the 2.53 vs. 2.26 is coming from my own pocket), so hopefully perhaps it will be here at the end of this week, early next. I already have a nice backpack for it, padded laptop compartment at all, and I'm looking into External Hard drives to do a complete movie library backup to.

And yes, I know, "Why does a 14 year old need a laptop". I'm doing some work using computers for my Dad this summer at Penn State (where he works), so I need portability. We waited for WWDC, and...

Mine is chilling in New Jersey today, so I'll probably get it tomorrow, as promised.
You should never EVER pay extra for faster shipping when getting a BTO because it'll take just as long to get it than with the free shipping. It's not like they can drive it to the states in a truck from China.

I didn't call their International Office today mainly because my computer is FINALLY on its way to Anchorage. I've attached a screen shot of the FedEx tracking.
Through my calculations... It should arrive in Anchorage sometime around 1-3 PM Anchorage time Tuesday (Today) as it crosses the International Dateline and hopefully it'll get on a plane tonight to Newark or NYC or whatever the closest hub to Connecticut is.
Note: Estimated Delivery remains static at June 18th... which is good.

Yes, i noticed that with mine too. After do some calc's from studying the travel history of my ipod touch (which also came from China), i do think that it should arrive ontime and on thursday...But still, i am not happy that it just sat there for 4 days and didn't move...

good, FedEx bad.I called Fedex and did tracking from the automated helper, they said my package was heading towards my zip code, told me again that its estimated to get here tomorrow(should have realistically gotten here today), but the online status hasn't budged since it arrived at Newark, NJ/Int'l Release.

Hopefully it even comes by June 18th.. I really want my $23 for 2-3 shipping back, but really its the 5-7 day BTO process that sucked. It was unfortunate to finish late on a Friday...
Nice...I am getting excited....This being my truly first mac, i can't wait. I still like Windows and use it alot (I am in IT), but the Mac OS X environment just can not be beaten. Apple really does know how to make an OS for the people that does the job and does it quickly and efficiently.
You think you got it bad in the States. I ordered mine from Uk store straight after WWDC, stupidly i let the apple guy bundle iworks in it making it a BTO. Hasnt even arrived in UK yet. What a joke. Phoned apple and told them i would have rather installed myself and wasted 15 mins rather than waiting for 2 weeks for their archaic shipping system.

What is the "local fedex facility" and why did it go from the origin facility (IN SHANGHAI) to the "local Facility" (IN SHANGHAI)? I mean I'm only frustrated because it has been almost 4 days (chinese time) and all my MBP has done is gone across town.
Has anyone had this status before? Its supposed to come thursday.. but I doubt it will make it from china to VA in 2 days. FEDEX makes me angryyyyy.

If your MBP makes it to VA my Thursday then I should get mine tomorrow. Mine sat in Shanghai all weekend and then finally was released in Alaska today. As of now, it still hasn't made it to the hub in Memphis. You will be lucky to get yours by next Monday by the looks of it.

See what it says. Fedex.com said mine was released from customs, and according to this site, it says it is still sitting in a sorting facility in Anchorage, AK, and has been for the better part of a day and a half now. This is really very angering.
4 days and still "Not Yet Shipped". Delivery estimate on the order page says today through the 22nd. I can only hope to get it by the weekend but doubt it.

You're right, it is extremely frustrating. At least yours is moving now.. and once it gets in the US it's usually pretty quick (had my ipod come from china). I guess there is nothing we can do.. I guess I just got unlucky.

Ha. Moving? It's been sitting in Alaska now for a day. I wish it was moving right now. It should be in transit to Memphis now if it's going to be delivered by Thursday as the site claims.
It's not so much the delays, but the fact that no one warns people about this when they pay $20 for 2-3 day air. This isn't the first time a computer has shipped from China. I don't understand why it takes a day to clear customs and then a day to get it moving from the sorting facility. If it is delivered by Thursday, the site is either wrong or it's going to be flown tonight to Memphis and then to Charleston tomorrow morning.
Mine sat for a whole day in a Fedex facility about an hour away and then moved to another facility about 45 minutes away and sat over the weekend. FedEx just does things in the dumbest way possible. Oh yeah, since it is international it won't deliver on a Saturday either even if it is in the right location.
