Ordered my 2.7GHz/16GB/768GB 15" rMBP from MacMall today -- should have it tomorrow.

Finally bit the bullet and decided to replace my 2004 17" PowerBook G4 .... I think the processor has started to fail -- I get random characters/gibberish on the monitor sometimes -- and the fans are getting very loud (maybe bearings going bad).

I was going to replace it in 2011, but then I decided that I didn't really need it, haha.

Anyways -- it was time for a refresh :)

My 13" rMBP due to arrive today! :) *staring out of window*

you will love it ,

i got mine and i still cannot believe how awsome it is!

i find it runs super cool and has all the features i have ever needed , i plan on popping in a 480gb owc ssd soon!

cant wait!

I wonder what the record for hitting "refresh" on the FedEx site is. I swear my laptop has been at the local FedEx facility for ever (and by forever, I mean 2 hours :p)!!

Anticipation isn't fun, lol .... :)

UPDATE -- Got it!! And luckily enough it is a Samsung screen -- Color LCD LSN154YL01001

I decided to pull the trigger on two 13.3" cMBPs (2.9GHz i7) instead of rMBPs. I really liked the idea of the retina display...but at the end of the day, the wife and I use our SuperDrives quite a bit, I have a need for Ethernet, we can upgrade to 16GB, and put in whatever SSDs we want.

Plus I still really like the classic design.

We'll see what Apple does with the MBP in the next couple if years.

13 inch retina

Received my refurbished rMBP 13" a few days ago. It is just the base model but that is plenty for me, considering I don't use much more than 100 GB of space. Everything I don't really use is either deleted or moved to external drive/cloud storage. I will use this beauty for school, work, and everything else I need, it is my main machine now.

This is my first mac, I have been a PC user for over 10 years but finally decided I had enough. The retina display is wonderful, backlit keyboard, awesome build quality, good battery life, and the $1269 price tag was less than the price of some windows ultrabooks.

Everything has been running smoothly so far. :)

Just got my first Macbook Pro a couple weeks ago and am pretty pleased!

13" rMBP
2.9 GHz i7
8GB ram
512GB flash memory

I got it with a superdrive, magic mouse, thunderbolt cable, and applecare, for about $2200. That's a pretty penny but I think I got a deal. Look forward to using it more in the future!

why didnt u just get the 15 inch lol

I figured the Haswell rMBP wont hit the shelves for a while and I need a laptop now, so I got one from MacMall (rMBP, 13.3, 8GB, 256GB, 2.6 Ghz).

I had been eyeing the Apple refurbs. One with the right specs came up last week , but it was gone quickly. I realized though that between MacMall's sales prices, I could save 9%, the AppleInsider discount would take off 3%, and I saved 7% in sales tax. Overall, I paid the same price for a new MacMall rMBP as the Apple refurb, and I didnt have to camp out on the Apple refurb page refreshing several times a day.

I just hope that the MacMall unit doesnt have issues. I hate returning stuff like this through the mail.

I'm not looking at buying a retina display.. would there be any advantage to waiting a month or two to see if there is a refresh on the current models?

Yes. The old models might be refreshed or they might be discontinued and you could get them right after at a heavly discounted price.

Not in your case, but just for future reference for those viewing the thread - refurb.me automatically tracks inventory from the Apple Refurbished store and sends you an email or text alert when your desired model is in stock.

My first MacBook purchase. Close to pulling trigger on this from MacMall for $1599. It is new bit I believe a discontinued model built mid 2012.

honestly

honestly, if ANYONE is buying ANYTHING at this point in the product release history, i hope they are getting a smokin' deal or really really need it RIGHT NOW.. I'd tell anyone looking to buy any mac laptop form factor to wait at least a month to see what is coming around the corner in June.
