I was thinking of taking the lower model at the apple store, then I thought it woudn't be worth it now, so I tried to find a deal online and that wasn't that hard :)

I'm a bottom of the barrel MacBook Pro owner now, yay! I bought the base 13" model last Friday, for $999 through my universities computer store. The new education discount was too much to pass up, and I am in need of a laptop right now. The performance is perfect for my needs, so i'm very happy with the purchase. :)

This is my 2nd Mac i've ever owned, I had a Mac Mini before this.

congrats on the purchase.

Bought a rMBP 13" with 256 GB SSD, 8 GB RAM and 2.6 GHz nearly two weeks ago at Best Buy (my first Apple computer purchase). But browsing around the Internet I stumbled on this website (haven't been here in a long time) I noticed the announcement that an upgrade is soon coming my way. So I think I will try to return what I have now and just hold out for the new upgrade. What do you guys think?

That is good idea. The imrovements of the ne processor will be especially helpful to the 13", because the much better graphics will help push all those extra pixels. Coupled with the possibility for a price drop or more standard storage, there's no reason not to wait 4 days to see what Apple does.

Ok thanks. It's an amazing computer and I hate to part with it for a little while, but based on this news it seems to be worth it. Can't wait for the 10th!

Hey guys.

I just ordered the 2.4ghz, 8gb ram, 650m 15inch retina MBP model.

It hasn't been processed yet but will hopefully be done so over the weekend.

I just saw that a new line is expected soon. If they are announced early next week how soon could they be available? Will they be more expensive than the one I just bought for £1800 and will they be available on finance right away?

If it's a big improvement and is the same price I might as well wait and cancel this order.

Thanks again. :)

Ordered mine last sunday, got it wednesday. Unboxed it last night and am floored by how unreal the retina display is.

Same machine as the guy above me.

i've been a Windows guy for years, not anymore.

Congrats. I love mine as well.

I was disappointed in no new refresh yesterday, so I sucked it up and went to best buy and purchased a 13" retina MacBook. I don't regret it so far

I ordered a base rMBP from the UK Apple Refurbished Store yesterday after they reduced the price for the second time in a month to £1309. It arrived this morning and I'm setting it up at the moment. If I'd waited for Haswell I would have had to pay at least £1700 if not closer to £1800 for the base configuration. I'd have to wait several months for this to be reduced in the refurbished store which could put us into the New Year. I decided the price difference compared with the performance upgrade over my 2009 MBP made it worth buying now.

New rMBP

Just replaced my iMac which I just sold with a rMBP, got it from a dealer on ebay who usually sells iPhones, he happened to get hold of a couple of rMBP 512SSD 2.7GHz 2013 models, which he was trying to sell for $2850 (Australian prices, they sell for $3200 here) but I managed to get him down to $2600, with a proper invoice so the warranty begins today. It's more than I wanted to pay but now I have it I'm stoked. $2600 is 19% off retail so that's like getting one from Apple in the US for $2270.

Did the deal in the local shopping mall and it was a nice feeling to walk past the Apple Store on my way out ;¬)

Oh yeah checked the display and it's a Samsung. Ironic really how there are so many Mac fans who are Samsung haters (including me) but we desperately want the Samsung display. Go figger.

Bit the bullet

Just ordered a refurb 15.4" rMBP, 2.6, 16GB for $1949.00, plus Apple Care. Coming from a 2007 Dell Inspiron 1520, I'd imagine this will be a significant upgrade. (I've had an i7 desktop since 2009 as well)

Wife and I just found out she's pregnant, so I wanted to be able to be productive but in the same room as my wife and child, not having to go upstairs to my office to work on my photography.

I've been mostly a lurker but appreciate all the great insight and research that is shared here! Thanks!

Good work, I bought mine from David Jones 20% off free delivery. Good feeling paying $700 less than everyone else.
