Lots of line updates yesterday. And, my 17" MBP BTO seems to be in NJ as of this writing. I'm guessing the Intl release was made post-departure from AK.
In my original receipt from Apple, the shipping estimate was 5-7 business days from the date the item shipped. It shipped on June 13 (a Saturday) so, starting to count from the 15th, 5-7 business days would mean I should expect the package to arrive anywhere from June 19 - 23.
An update I received from Apple when my item shipped gave an estimate of June 17 as a delivery date; however, it appeared the package missed the FedEx cutoff in Shanghai and FedEx estimates June 18 as a delivery date. Notwithstanding, June 18th is actually a whole day early from the lowest number of days for the item to arrive.
If it seems like it's taking longer than normal, it may just be a psychological thing. This is my first new laptop in over seven years (previously a happy owner of a 667 G4 PowerBook DVI, circa 2002). It's important to not overlook that an estimate of 5-7 business days isn't 5-7 days. And, we live in a world where we have almost instantaneous access to any piece of information we want. So, when the FedEx tracking information is "stuck" on Shanghai for 3 days we start to get itchy and begin to call FedEx and Apple and inquire what is going on. Trust me, I've been tempted before.
Patience is a virtue. Now, where in the hell is my new laptop!
