Same here, I am thinking it will arrive in New Jersey in a couple of hours. Probably around 3am EST and then later on the 18th our MBPs should be in CT for delivery.

God I hope you're right. If it doesn't go out for delivery tomorrow, I'll be so upset. I would probably drive myself to the North Haven FedEx distribution center and get it myself LOL. Really hope we get them tomorrow. Then again, why would FedEx lie like that. They would change true estimated delivery if they didn't think it would make it.

Living in Alaska sure pays off. I get my Apple goodies way before everyone else. Except for the retail shoppers. Who does that anymore?

Same here. If its in the North Haven facility where my Time Capsule arrived or the Stratford facility where my ipod was delivered by I am going to go and pick it up personally instead of waiting a day if it doesn't get sent out.

I am hoping it will arrive to Newark early morning and be sent along to our local facilities for delivery mid afternoon on the 18th.

Well... apparently my computer only departed from Alaska at 4:59 PM Anchorage time and my estimated date of delivery is still tomorrow... I'm seriously doubting Fedex's abilities to pull through... but I'm kinda still holding out hope, seeing as the estimated delivery date hasn't changed... one can only hope. But then again, it could really be on it's way (on the ground) already... who knows.

Attached is my current FedEx Tracking information.

I said the same thing last night, and mine arrived this morning. It is possible. Mine left Alaska at like 5pm and was in Charleston in time to be delivered a day early.

Showed up on the 17th (A day early!)

Highlighting the changes:

MacBook Pro, 17-inch, Aluminum

500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200 rpm
MacBook Pro 17-inch Hi-Resolution Antiglare Widescreen Display
SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2X2GB
3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

And I got the Mini-DV to DVI adapter. Which, incidentally they place in the MBP box under the machine (in a special little place for it!). I wasn't going to pay for the processor upgrade until I saw that they lowered the price.

This is a wonderful computing experience.

Agh, so frustrated

I ordered the new 13" MBP with the SSD and FedEx tried to deliver it today, BUT I'm on vacation with my wife like 600 miles away and really want to know if it has a 3.0 Gbit Sata 2 interface. I haven't found enough confirmation from others that everything's gonna be alright. I tried having Apple redirect the comp but they said they couldn't. I should have got overnight shipping when I ordered. A new computer not to arrive asap? What was I thinking? 4 more days till I get home and it is seriously distracting. Hope iPhone OS 3.0 will keep me busy until then. I will get benchmarks and impressions when I get home. This is my first SSD, so much to look forward to and my dreams may get squashed.

Feel my pain...

8th June: Ordered a 15" MBP, 3.06GHz, 500GB @7200rpm
12th June: Status updated to say Shipped on 12th June, and "In Transit to Customer". Date of that entry in the log was 18th June - yes, 6 days in the future...
18th June: Still says "In Transit". Now has an estimated delivery date of 22nd June.

If it shipped on 12th June, why is it going to take a further 10 days to get me?

According to FedEx, my computer arrived in Newark at 2:20 AM, but that is the last status update... so I don't know if it's on its way to North Haven or if it's still sitting in Newark... As an aside the estimated delivery is still set for today before 4:30 PM. So hopefully they'll get it here today, LOL.

Attached is my current FedEx Tracking information as of 7:19 AM EDT.

ahh itl be right! nothing runs hotter then a CD! min idles on 80°C HA

Throw a barbie some time, steak macbook style.

Errh, looks like I'll be needing a pretty good cooling stand

Yeah my old PowerBook was terrible it'd burn you if you touched it.
You'd just have to leave it off during a lot of summer.
That'd explain why the logicboard fried :(

Thank goodness for these freezing winter days though - my mini is idling at ~30°C!

HA! the newer MBPs are noticeably cooler! like... by FAR! the CoreDuo from Intel was shocking, it was abysmal. the new Penryn ones are very nice indeed. my GFs 1st edition Penryn (the 2nd last old MBP update around Jan 08) idles at about 50 and doesnt go above 75 even under load, mine is lucky to sit under that on idle. dont mention on load :p

you'll be fine haha, what part of aus you in? (i always assumed u were in mid-north coast)??

Hope so, ordered yesterday from Sydney, so it'll probably take the usual time to get there, plus the time it takes to ship it down here so add another day or two.

Must post back with cooling setup and temperature readings.
