Still waiting

I had ordered a 13" 2.4ghz unibody macbook at the end of May when the iPod rebate promotion started. Because of the changes they made at WWDC, I sent mine back within the 14 day period and ordered a new 15" 2.53ghz macbook pro. I'm still waiting for it to arrive (I think it's in New Jersey, on the way to DC). My patience is running thin tho It was in China for 3 days and Alaska for 2 which was kind of annoying, but at least it's on the way.

My MBP was apparently on the same flight to Newark as iPhone3Gcrazed and GolPosts because my status also says arrived in Newark at 2:20am and hasn't updated since. I'm really hoping they have a flight to Dulles before tonight, but I'm doubtful.

My MBP is here! I checked the status last night, and even though the tracker showed it was here in Anchorage, FedEx was still showing a delivery date of 6/23. Fortunately, the tracker was wrong, and it was delivered to me here at work about 15 minutes ago.

I won't be setting it up until this weekend, as I (think?) I need a different Firewire cable; the one I have is a FW400 cable, and I'll need to get a 9-pin to 6-pin cable. (If I don't, please someone let me know! )

Yes, you would need either a new cable that does 9pin to 6 pin or just get an adapter to go to 9pin. Cheers!!! I can't wait to begin to use mine!

I guess my package "Departed FedEx Location" in Newark, bound for North Haven, CT @ 1:12 PM (Local Scan Time) or 12:12 PM (Eastern Time) even though Newark is Eastern time. So if it makes it to North Haven in 2.5 hours that will be 3:45 or 2:45 PM so I actually may be able to pick it up today!!! OMG pleaseeeee... that would make my week... no, no, year.

It would make my year too! I am really hoping it makes it in time to be picked up as well, I think it might be going to stratford though that's how my ipod shipped. But once it arrives I am going to call and see if i can pick it up. I might just see you there if that happens

I called FedEx and asked them if I'd be able to pick it up and they said even if they got it there before they closed that they wouldn't take it out of the container until tomorrow... but I don't know if I believe it.

P.S. Does yours say "Departed FedEx Location"?

Darn, they are probably right that they won't arrive today...If they know they won't I still don't understand why mine is still On Schedual to arrive today at 4:30pm.

Good question... was wondering that myself... I mean I really don't have anything better to do. If I see that it comes as an arrival scan, I'll make the 15 minute trip and see if they'll give it to me, I mean it saves them time and money at my expense. Who knows they might...

I can save you the trip and tell you that they will not let you pick it up. I tried that once myself, even got the manager involved and they wouldn't even though i had proof that it was indeed going to me. It was horrible...

Thanks... seems reaaaaally odd that they wouldn't... less overhead... with sufficient proof of identification, you'd think they'd be more than willing.

Except mine was dropped off at Shanghai on the 13th! FedEx told me on the phone they'd deliver it tomorrow but it hasn't moved all. day. long.

Some of you have some unrealistic expectations.

If you want your computer right now, head on over to an Apple store and purchase it that way. When you have a middle man (Fedex/UPS) and thousands of miles between you and the supplier, there is a good opportunity for something to go wrong and delay a shipment. If you can't accept those kind of circumstances, stick to in-store purchases.

Hmmm... I'd imagine there's one in Texas but maybe Indianapolis covers the Midwest. You'll get it soon. It'll probably ship to a Local FedEx center in your area soon enough.

I called FedEx this morning for this issue. They said it was delayed and will be delivered tomorrow because there was "volcanic activity" somewhere between China and Alaska. Uhhhh huh sure. Anyway, she reassured me it wouldn't be delivered today and told me tomorrow...

I just called and got the same exact excuse. She said that there was volcanic activity right in the flight path and that delayed the shipment enough for it not to get to me in time. So mine comes tomorrow.. One day after it said it would.. But the fedex rep. did tell me that it should be here by 10:30 am! So I should have something to look forward to when I wake up!

Get a refund on your shipping, and wait another day. Or cancel your order and go pick up one at the store.
