How is this the hard way though? You will get your MBP in the same timeframe as if you didn't choose the expedited shipping. You will get a refund. You will get your MBP.
Or are you going to sue for emotional damages because you couldn't touch it soon enough?
Be that as it may, I won't be getting a refund because I didn't get it in 2-3 business days... I'll be getting my refund because they falsely advertised 2-3 day shipping when they knew very well they were going to send it 3-6 day shipping.
Whatever makes you sleep better at night. In the end you'll get your refund.

New Unibody 13"
Just got a new unibody 13" and loving it. I had a 15.4" UMP and the size was killing me. Not really noticing much of a speed difference yet.

it's my first mac too, so maybe i am being a impatient. however, there is no denying that the fed ex service is terrible!
The issue here, for several of us, is that Apple advertised 2-3 day shipping, and we paid for it. Then, Apple shipped our purchases through a FedEx service that FedEx advertises as having delivery times between 3-6 days! In my case, I made a reasonable assumption that laptop would arrive no more than a day later than Apple's most conservative estimate. Since I'm leaving town after that, I'm pretty screwed by this development.
The people at Apple have been very nice, and I know they're doing everything they can, but it's still kind of lame.

Hmm... where it normally says "Estimated Delivery: Month Day, Year by Time" is empty... there's nothing there about estimated delivery.
7200 rpm
I just received my new 15" MBP which I had configured with the 7200 rpm 500GB hard drive. How do I check to make sure they installed the 7200 rom drive and not the 5400?
The packing list and box doesn't list 7200 anywhere and I can't seem to see anything about drive speed in the under the About this Mac info. My original order verification does list the 7200 drive.

Mine came today! The tracker always said the 18th by 12:00, and they were right! I would have been better off not checking constantly and worrying about it being in China for so long! It was still in Alaska yesterday evening, but got to me in Phoenix this morning! It's BEAUTIFUL and mine all mine!! Time to play!
